I said wheat too - soybeans never entered the equation. I did think "maybe wheat isn't the all american crop" which lead me to the show "The Americans" and led me to think, wouldn't it be ironic if it were a Russian crop originally..." Kansas born & bred, daughter of a wheat farmer here. Yes, red and hard red winter wheat was introduced from Russia, Crimea, Ukraine. I watched the 2022 American Rescue Dog Show the other night. There were categores for best in couch potato, best in snoring, best in underbite, and more. All were representing their rescue organization for prize money. It was fun to watch, and the dogs were incredible! There was a French Bulldog mix named Sabre in the underbite competition!

I watched the rerun of the episode where Marty meets Necie last night, and realized that was the woman to whom he's now engaged. Before that, I didn't really remember her at all.

I was sad no one knew Nora Ephron. As for Southern Rocker, after hearing Southern, I could think only if Southern Cross. Crosby, Stills,Nash, and Young weren’t Southern. But there you go!

Why was it on from 9-10 instead of 8-9 tonight?

I’ve never heard of pickled sausages. What are they?

We should be moved (not settled) in Kansas by mid-August. If I can’t visit by Sept. 5 when they close, I’ll go next year. It’s about 3 1/2 hours from Ellsworth.

Week 39 3/5, one* YTD: 90/195 7*, 2MR*, 6A*, 2M* My percentage is at 46%. There are 7 more weeks (season 38 ends July 29). I would have to average over 3 out of 5 each week to get to 50%. Seems daunting since my current average is just over 2 per week. Tuesday was an asterisk.

I do Wordle, Quordle, and Worldle daily. I think it helps me feel sharper.

The last time I made scones, my store was out of clotted cream, so I settled for crème fraîche. No comparison, clotted cream is so much better!
