  1. April 15 Week 32: 4/5, two * YTD: 68/160, nine * We're celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary this weekend, so cake for all!
  2. This is such a fascinating story, and I'm appalled at how the subpostmasters were treated. The characters are portrayed convincingly. It's difficult to realize what the real-life people were put through.
  3. It's been renewed? Wow, did not expect that! I have a much easier grading scale. I usually enjoy watching this, and generally consider it above average. It'll be interesting to see how the show keeps going, with so many of the cast regulars moving on/retiring, etc.
  4. Week 31: 0/5, no * YTD: 64/155, seven * The only one I came close to was Coco, but I guessed Encanto instead. A big ol' goose egg!
  5. Yes, remember when he was the "tire whisperer" at Herschel's automotive shop?
  6. I remember the episode when Mary made her prayer garden, and the reason for it. Sheldon was really sweet to his mom in that episode. That makes it less likely that he'd believe Missy. Mr. Zoey and I have a mixed marriage (Democrat, Republican), so that comment was so funny!
  7. One of mine has it scheduled for 11 p.m. CDT on April 28. The other one doesn't show it in April that I could find.
  8. You're not old! I was in college when it happened! I was in grade school when JFK was assassinated. I remember JFK getting elected. That's old!
  9. I never think about the cut scenes; I don't notice them until I read about them here. I was in a cynical stage of my life during the moon landing period. All I could think about was that we (the USA) had so many problems with the Viet Nam war, kids living in substandard situations, racial tensions, etc. I thought we should spend more money and attention on those and similar things, and less on going to the moon. I didn't watch the launch, the landing, or any of it.
  10. I was in Williamsburg, VA, driving back to work after lunch. I didn't feel a thing, but a lot of my co-workers were standing around outside and told me about it.
  11. Old school Perry Mason had a variety of cases. Most involved murder, but not all. We've been watching old reruns of Perry Mason, and I was surprised when I saw one without a murder. I loved Elsbeth's character on The Good Wife and The Good Fight, and she's delightful here.
  12. Week 30: 1/5, no * YTD: 64/150, seven * Skinny fries - they sort of look like ones, right?
  13. Chummy also continued to work even after her son was born. For the midwives, their jobs were a calling. We're now seeing a demand for and a need for better wages for these dedicated women.
  14. Week 29: 2/5, one * YTD: 63/145, seven * World's Largest Czech Egg. Wilson, Kansas
  15. I did. But my favorite part was Tunde and Bob in the suit shop, and Bob finding an off-the-rack jacket that now fits him! Also the two dinners, but didn't like Abishola throwing Bob under the bus as she did. Of course, she apologized to him later. I never had a sister. My dad's two sisters got along well, but every once in a while, they'd have a spat, not speak for a day or two, but just as quickly make up. Rinse and repeat.
  16. Week 28: 0/5, no * YTD: 61/140, seven *. I wouldn't turn down a cream puff or a profiterole.
  17. Week 27: 1/5, no * YTD: 61/135, seven *. Pretzel sticks!
  18. He lied (by omission) on his application. That's why he could have been fired.
  19. When I was in grade school, I read a book, I think it was Florida Cracker, that had a chapter about whether it should be spelled doughnut or donut. Since then, I've usually spelled it doughnut.
  20. Sorry, I was confused and mentioned an element in a different show. Should just refer to Inn and restaurant.
  21. Week 26: 1/5, no * YTD: 60/130, seven *. Churros, anyone?
  22. Attract more paying customers to their Inn? Or is that on hold for the restaurant and due to the cottage burning down?
  23. I've made homemade doughnuts. The dough is the same. A round of the dough is cut with a biscuit cutter that also has a smaller round cutter, so you have doughnut and doughnut hole. Doughnuts can be yeast raised (like most glazed doughnuts) or cake doughnuts.
  24. I enjoyed seeing Bernie Sanders last night (Super Tuesday). I hadn’t realized that Bernie was a frequent guest.
  25. Did you ever watch The Middle? Youngest child, Brick, had a thing for fonts. He even started a Font Club at his school! Because of him, I learned more about fonts and found them interesting. I don't get it. How does one play?
