  1. They still have eagles (all rescued) and wolves. They are in Eagle Ridge. Pantheon is in Italy/Festa, not far from the Festa train station. Opens on a limited members basis March 4, and to others March 24. I won’t be riding it.
  2. I love that @saber5055 can still react to our posts. Miss you Saber!
  3. In 2018, I spent a few days in Orlando with my family, and of course we visited Disney World several days. Had a blast! But I didn't do Tower of Terror. I sat at a nearby coffee shop while the fam did TofT. But I knew enough about it to know it involved an elevator, and led to my knowing FJ. I live near Busch Gardens Williamsburg and have an annual membership. I do very few rides, and no coasters anymore, but it's a beautiful park, the shows are great, and I nearly always have a very good time there.
  4. Week 21: 3/5, 1* YTD: 48/105, 3*, 6A*, 2M*
  5. You can get one for around $10k, but if you want better quality, it’ll cost you! Not to mention, double reeds, like bassoons and oboes, aren’t easy or quick to learn. And where will a teacher be found? And how to pay for a teacher? I started in about fifth grade to learn the clarinet, and started with the oboe in 8th grade. I did have a couple of scholarships as a music major. But not an easy path and far from a solid plan for Mark.
  6. My dad was in the forerunner to the Air Force in WW II, the Army Air Corps, as an enlistee. He had an Eisenhower jacket, family legend said it was acquired clandestinely. Also as a Kansan, I was well aware of when Eisenhower died, and I’ve been to his Presidential museum and visited his (& Mamie’s) burial site numerous time. FJ = instaget, before the clue was completed.
  7. Under the heading, Unpopular Opinions, I very much enjoy Mayim as host. And as I recall, Ken wanted his introduction as it is given, so I’m fine with the intros. I like both Mayim & Ken as hosts. But wait, there’s more. Not clearing the boards is way down on my list of things for which to criticize Jeopardy!
  8. Second The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. The movie (on Netflix) is also quite good.
  9. Because nobody wanted to buy them at this point in time? For a sale to occur, there needs to be a willing seller (the bookstore), a willing buyer (there was none) at an agreed-upon price (no willing buyer, no agreed-upon price). Desperate to save the family bookstore, a risk was taken. She got caught, and the risk did not work out in her favor.
  10. Week 20: 2/5, 0* YTD: 45/100, 2*, 6A*, 2M*
  11. I really felt for Missy. My mother was conservative about makeup, leg shaving, etc., and I had hairy legs long after classmates had started shaving their legs, and I was teased/bullied about it. Thank goodness I didn't try what Missy did! Peer pressure - root beer! I love root beer! I felt badly for George. Being a high school athletic coach is not an easy job. I don't know what class(es) he teaches, but if the school can hire a coach who can also teach those classes, they will. Boosters can be brutal if they perceive the team's losing is the coach's fault. You're only as good as your last winning season, and those winning seasons will be forgotten as soon as you have a losing season.
  12. Week 19: 4/5, 0*, 2A* YTD: 43/95, 2*, 6A*, 2M* Whoo-hoo! Beignets? Yes, please! Congrats!
  13. OK to ask, but one place to find it is j-archive.com Yes, same Channel Islands! Family is in Bournemouth England, and we spent about a week on Jersey a few years ago. I’d love to go back.
  14. I saw The Paper Chase movie and the TV series. Also I’ve seen at least two Legally Blonde movies, so that was pretty easy. I know of three places for potatoes: Idaho, Oregon, and Jersey in the Channel Islands. Don’t know why, but PEI makes me think of mussels. Is that a thing there? Loved the Bassett Hound!
  15. I like the air bnb one, Beautiful Strangers.
  16. I watched this episode last night; I'd put it off because I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch it. The first twenty minutes dragged a bit, then zoom! Let's get going! I haven't read the book, and don't remember watching any of the other movies, and I'm enjoying this very much. Also unfamiliar with this period of French history, so not sure how it all tracks, but it makes for a fine story. When the gendarmes were chasing them, I hoped they'd find out that Fogg had saved Thierry. But he got away, so that's OK. Also, for years, I thought it was Phineas, not Phileas.
  17. Of course you did! My funny Hampton Court Palace story. I was about a third of the way through the tour, hearing about William of Orange and Mary. Suddenly it hit me - that was our William and Mary!
  18. Week 18: 3/5, 1*, 2A* YTD: 39/90, 2*, 4A*, 2M* I'm making a chicken and lentil stew this week, so I'll bring some.
  19. Sorry, I meant here in this topic forum.
  20. Did I miss comments re: Amy's 32nd win? Ties with James? Kind of interesting, when James lost, I was happy. There were several things about him I found annoying. But while I'm getting tired of runaway games, Amy doesn't annoy me the way other contestants have. Should this go in another topic?
  21. I recently re-watched Season 3 Episode 6, where Beth accuses Jamie of of forcible sterilation at the time of the abortion. I noted that only Beth used the word, hysterectomy, and when Jamie was trying to reason or explain, she cut him off, so we never heard any kind of explanation for what really happened. And when John asked why she hated Jamie so much, we didn't see that conversation. John just showed up and confronted Jamie, and didn't ask for his side or consider that Beth may not have been truthful. I'm skeptical that Beth knew what she was talking about, and consider it possible that she's outright lying about what happened. Is there another episode that has more information? If so, I missed it. This episode was also about the disappearance of young indigenous women, which I thought was minimized due to Beth's dramatics.
  22. When Mr. Zoey goes to the bank, he always tries to get dollar coins. Before retirement, there was a vending machine in his building that took the dollar coins. Now he spends them for small purchases, and also uses them to leave cash tips. It's funny how cashiers often don't recognize what they are at first.
