  1. I’m in the UK now and watched the first episode. Glad it’s back!
  2. Week 16: 3/5 no * YTD: 35/80 two *, two C *
  3. Bah humbug! I’m blaming travel and the flu! Week 15: 1/5 no * YTD: 32/75 two *, two C *
  4. Well, today was interesting. I was having trouble walking, and fell when getting up to go to the bathroom. DD called her GP, and they had us call A&E. Several hours later, I was sent home with Tamiflu due to a flu A diagnosis. Thank God for DD and DSIL!
  5. Week 14: 2/5 no * YTD: 31/70 two *, two C *
  6. I need a TJ’s near me! I’m in England now! More when I have the chance!
  7. I arrived in Williamsburg yesterday evening. I’m meeting friends for lunch at the Williamsburg Winery. Tomorrow my friend and I are going to Christmastown at Busch Gardens. I leave for England Saturday. It was a stressful few days before this point, but I’m still standing! I did get a very cherry chip blizzard in Salina. I’m with @saber5055, it was so good! Thanks for all the thoughts sent my way! My best wishes for good holidays for all y’all! I’ll post when I’m back!
  8. I liked this episode, though it hurt that Phil was missing. The cast would have been acutely aware of his absence. I've heard about, though never been to, an ice bar. I wondered how that would be pulled off, indoors in a warmer clime. George Takei's appearance was a nice surprise. Also I liked the brief appearance of Corks and Orcs.
  9. Week 13: 2/5 no *, one C * YTD: 29/65 two *, two C * I went to Salina for errands this week, and got a cherry shake at Braum's. I still need to get the cherry chipper Blizzard at DQ!
  10. Where to begin? On Tuesday, Mr. Zoey and I were getting ready for our first visit with a local doctor, when Mr. Z fell and couldn't get up. We called EMS. They got him up and in a chair, checked vitals, etc. Checked his blood sugar, and it was very high. They transported him to the ER, I followed in our car. The hospital/ER is only four blocks away. He was admitted to the hospital and spent the last three nights there. I am leaving for England next Wednesday, with a couple of days in Williamsburg VA to visit friends, etc. The plan had been to have home health care visits and he would stay at home while I was gone. Since the fall, we decided to have him stay in a care facility. So arrangements are being made. I'm having mixed feelings about all of this. I'm really excited to be spending Christmas with my daughter and her family, while at the same time feeling sad that Mr. Z will be in a home over the holidays. He wasn't happy that I was going to be away in the first place. He and my daughter have never really gotten along. I wish they would grow up and realize that my love for one doesn't diminish or take away from my love for the other.
  11. My grandma was born in Iowa in 1893, and she often called the sofa/couch the davenport, so I knew it.
  12. Summer was rude, but nobody ever deserves a beating for being rude. And certainly not from Beth, who wasn’t defending their dietary choices, but beating on Summer because she’s jealous that Daddy is giving attention to someone she dislikes. And John? Beth is far from free. She’s in a prison of her own making, and she’s so screwed up, she may never be free.
  13. I’m not an early bird or a night owl, I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon! Not really a joke. I have about 30 minutes mid-day when I can actually feel somewhat energetic and get things done. I've been like that as long as I can remember.
  14. Week 12: 4/5 one *, one C * YTD: 27/60 two *, one C * I love cherry anything, so I'm bringing cherry chipper blizzards, extra large! I'll share with @saber5055 even if she's not at my T44! I also like olives of all kinds, and I love cilantro!
  15. She had just been to her 46th class reunion at William & Mary, per her interview, so unless she was much younger when she graduated, 22+46 would make her late 60s. I'm older than that, I didn't get it because a) I never saw Xanadu and b) I might have recognized a much younger Gene Kelly, but not this older version. I knew Crosby, Stills, and Nash because I'm familiar with Suite Judy Blue Eyes (Judy Collins).
  16. On J! Archives, the answer is given as Sarah (Wheaton), and the book is Sarah, Plain and Tall. So, Sarah Weston is incorrect, as is Straight and Tall. Since the Wheaton is in parens, I'd think that Sarah would be sufficient, and that Sarah, Plain and Tall would also be accepted.
  17. We were fortunate to be able to buy our house in Kansas before we sold our house in Virginia. Kansas is not high priced real estate, but our real estate tax is higher that our Virginia r.e. tax was. We were looking for a small town in rural Kansas. We're about 40 minutes from a small city where we can find most of what isn't available in our small town. Our town has a dearth of restaurants; at least two or three closed between May and August, when we moved. Because we bought in a small town, we didn't have a lot of choice for inspectors, but ours was reputable and was pretty thorough. A lot here is based on reputation and word of mouth, so a poor inspector won't last long in the business. Our agent in Virginia had been in the business for decades and was knowledgeable and trustworthy, We went with her recommendation for the inspector. He found the things we already knew would be issues, plus some that we weren't aware of, but agreed after they were pointed out to us. Definitely a generalization that isn't always true! Some agents are like that, but many others are not. That was not true in our case.
  18. I came up w/FJ, and an asterisk too! I really thought Cris was done, but then he hit the DD. I was cheering for Xanni, though.
  19. Week 11: 3/5 no * YTD: 23/55 one * TGTToC is over! (Thank God the Tournament of Champions is over!)
  20. The Patience and the Deliverance were the ships that arrived at Jamestowne after the Sea Venture was wrecked in Bermuda and arrived in 1610, after the Starving Time, a period when food was scarce. The Colonists were about to give up when the ships with supplies and people arrived. So I figured it had to be Plymouth, but I wasn't certain that was the name of the harbor.
  21. I never would have gotten it! Just not my thing.
  22. IIRC, this hasn’t been resolved yet.
  23. Glad Aunt Vi followed Dee and knows a bit about what she's doing. Dee really needs to talk to her mom, though. I really thought Robyn was going to ask Dante to come for Sauce and pasta! Slow burn indeed.
  24. Another perfect week - 0! Week 10: 0/5 no * YTD: 20/50 one * As American Thanksgiving approaches, how about a pumpkin pie? We finished off our Hallowe'en minis yesterday. We enjoyed them very much! But there's never too much chocolate!
