  1. Yeah, I wasn't sure what to make of Alison at first, but the alligator story won me over. I liked Brian too. I didn't dislike Lee, but she was definitely not going any farther. I not only got FJ, but also came up with both shuttles. I was sure about Discovery and guessed Endeavor based it sounding like it should be the name of an English explorer's ship. I don't care one way or the other unless I really like or dislike a particular contestant.
  2. I remember them being featured a lot despite being only vaguely good at anything during the Race, but then, it has been a long time since I've seen that particular season so I could be wrong. I just know I went from being slightly annoyed at them to really not liking them. I never remember their names, but I agree he's pretty hot.
  3. Debbie & Bianca. They were supposed to go from Santiago to Argentina but made a wrong turn and headed 5 hours in the opposite direction, ending up on the Pacific coast of Chile. This was the leg with the infamous Argentine meat roadblock.
  4. Neither can I, which is why I'd have been the drum part instead. There's working together to finish a task and then there's giving away your entire advantage by helping people navigate. Oy. You thought they weren't? Nah, from what little we've seen of the girlfriends, they seem competent and not just lucking their way into not being eliminated.
  5. It's not that I don't like the boyfriends, because I do. They're pleasant and enthusiastic and competent. But honestly, I want to see someone else finish first for a change. Maybe not for the whole race, just for a leg or two.
  6. I didn't see anything wrong with the way the clue was phrased. And apparently neither did Lucas, who got it correct. I was just glad to see 3 people I didn't know. So yes, I'm happy we're done with tournaments for awhile.
  7. I had no idea either. I said Sea of Azov but did not think that was correct. I've seen their commercials but still didn't put it together.
  8. Social media has changed how the sport and the players are covered. Although I suspect it won't have the same frenzy next season unless another "once in a generation" type player fills the void left when Clark goes to the WNBA. Her achievements really were stupendous and generated a lot of media attention. I mean, she broke the men's college scoring record which had stood for 54 years!
  9. They do now, but there is a Lume commercial where Dr. Shannon specifically mentions how women are made to feel bad about our natural body odor, then shills a whole body deodorant for women as though she's not being part of the problem.
  10. To be fair, not everyone did at the time he lived. The link between hand washing and disease prevention wasn't well known until the middle of the 19th century. That was iffy, historically speaking. Definitely a natural cause.
  11. FJ seemed exceptionally easy to me, but then I love Greek mythology. I was really surprised that none of them got it. Great movie, and that's one of my favorite parts. I also got Easter Parade.
  12. Somehow it's the patriarchy telling women that everywhere stinks on us but also use Lume so that everywhere doesn't stink. Which is it, Dr. Shannon: the patriarchy is making us feel bad about our bodies or our bodies stink????
  13. There is that. I'm reserving judgment since the kid could actually be a great actor. I haven't seen him anything previously.
  14. I wouldn't do it and I'd be furious if they did it behind my back. Raised Episcopalian and that didn't stick, but any kids I'd have had wouldn't have gotten baptized until/unless they were old enough to make the decision for themselves. I would refuse to do something which endorses a religion in which I don't believe.
  15. That really was not funny from beginning to end. Worst episode of the season so far, and that's saying a lot. Even Weekend Update let me down. Also I didn't know who Raye is before and this episode did not make me want to find out. Okay, this was the one exception to my verdict of not funny. The only one.
  16. Yep, all they have to do now is win their remaining games and the title is theirs.
  17. Allegedly beautiful person. Wandering about aimlessly in the desert, as we all do.
  18. It's a show which definitely could be updated to our time in a funny and sensitive manner. This, however, is not that.
  19. I always knew praying mantises were not to be trusted! It was so abrupt I thought it was a dream sequence or something. It definitely made me think that everything was NOT okay. Which it wasn't, obviously. Yep, should've known something was wrong then. I assume the aliens sent her home the way they usually do.
  20. Okay, Trixie's storyline is getting worse with every episode. Matthew is now acting like an asshole when he never was before and she's being uncharacteristically careless at work. Honestly, they really need to write them off this season. It's not realistic that she'd still be there and it's not pleasant to watch. I would've like to have seen more of Nancy's story this episode. That was actually interesting. I really felt for her when she found out that all her mother's family had succumbed to TB. If this were Grey's Anatomy, I'd say he had a brain tumor because his personality was sooooo different. Yeah, that was the point at which I teared up. Possibly because watching Neil Armstrong walk on the moon is the very first memory I have from childhood. (Yes, I am old. Now get off my lawn.) I'd say maybe she should step back a bit. Not give up her job entirely, but possibly transition to a doctor's office or hospital where her hours might not be so long? Idk, but choosing to stay 3 nights a week at Nonnatus House is not going to help the marriage, that's for sure.
  21. I definitely wondered. Unfortunately, where I live pretty much everything is being taken over by one hospital system, including many of the physicians' offices. Yes, it means that records are more easily available for various practices, but the actual quality of services has gone down, especially in terms of office hours being shortened. I'd rather have to provide info to my different doctors' offices and still have some choice rather than everything being under the Christiana Care umbrella. At least my dental, eye and orthopedic doctors are separate, but give it time. 😕 And my insurance company will work with Christiana Care; my best friend is not so lucky.
  22. Not sure I like those castings. The kid looks awfully young to me. But I've been wrong about such things before, so I'm holding back on judgment for now.
  23. Imo, none of them should be involved in this year's Master's tournament, but TPTB didn't ask me.
  24. Isaac and the dinosaurs had me in stitches. That was the best thing about the episode. Presumably little Pete's father has parents, so not necessarily entirely without grandparents. Personally I'm fine with direction they're taking with this storyline as long as Carol doesn't stick around too long. No, you're not the only one. I didn't really buy it either. That and the rat story. Good thing it was a sausage factory. 😲
