  1. Oh, I know. I was directing the quote to the "dozens of female Republican officials" that were being referred to in the comment.
  2. “The government you elect is the government you deserve.” ― Thomas Jefferson
  3. It does not get any better in episode 2. That is the episode where I bailed. Black Doves on Netflix is what I thought this show was going to be and it is infinitely better if you are looking for something else in this genre.
  4. That was some phenomenal acting by Julianne Nicholson. There is no shortage of talent on this weird show, that is for sure.
  5. All I hear when I watch the show now is 'Lolly' this & 'Boppa' that (barf) and all I see is a very sad & defeated looking Brice. His body language in the talking head segments he does sitting beside Liz is especially bad. Arms crossed and eyes down.
  6. Great news. Here's hoping it doesn't take 2 years!
  7. I just googled this out of curiosity and embers was apparently chosen because the word signifies potential that is just waiting to be unleashed. 🤷‍♀️ I was a Brownie as a young girl here, in Canada, and I am 51 years old now and have never once in my life heard anyone be called a "brownie" as a slur, in fact, I didn't even know that was a thing until the big announcement that the name was changed because it was derogatory. Not saying it isn't a thing, but it was news to me .
  8. CNN ANNOUNCES NEW WEEKDAY SCHEDULE LINEUP ON CNN
  9. One of my husband's professors in university 25+ yrs. ago said something about how even before they were able to shoot guns at each other, they were throwing stones.
  10. I totally agree and I always picture something like this:
  11. I can't imagine that Matt would have a wedding without some sort of financial $tring attached for his benefit. The man monetizes absolutely everything. If and when they do get married, you can bet that the wedding will be filmed and photos will be taken to be sold. I'm not so sure that anybody at TLC cares much about him anymore; both the network and viewers alike, so I am thinking more along the lines of low hanging fruit like a People magazine "exclusive."
  12. And most wars are fought because of religion. But religion brings us together, right? If only.
  13. He knows the difference, no excuses: https://old.reddit.com/r/gifs/duplicates/1i7tw60/he_knows_the_difference_no_excuses/
  14. off-topic
  15. “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” ― George Orwell, 1984
  16. Did he happen to say what day he plans on invading Canada? I like to write these things down on my calendar.
  17. Are police not legally required to tell someone that they have the right to call an attorney before hauling them into an interrogation room for 9 hours? I scream at my tv, "You don't need to answer anything!! Ask for a lawyer!!!" I get so frustrated at this but then have to remind myself that not everyone watches Dateline and 48 Hours. In a perfect world, if the cops don't tell you this before interrogating you, anything that is said in that room should be moot. I got angrier and angrier the further along this episode went. It was the first time I saw her story. I normally sit somewhere in the grey area when watching these stories but in this case, I feel 100% sure that she is innocent. Come on, Governor JB Pritzker, do the right thing!
  18. I remember loving Michelle's white Jason Wu gown so much. I just pulled up pictures to revisit it and yep, still love it.
  19. The minute I heard that the inauguration was being moved indoors because the forecast is calling for bitter cold and high winds, I jokingly but not jokingly, told my husband that it's all about the hair. Trump can't very well wear his trusty red MAGA ball cap to lock that Thing down on inauguration day after all, so moving it inside saves him and his hair because for him, sometimes it really is all about the hair. I'm impressed that Jon managed to spell 'reneging' properly. Good for you, Jon!
  20. I went to bed before this one finished but I guessed it was the wife who did it based solely on that miserable looking face of hers in her own daughter's wedding photo that they kept showing over & over. Superficial, I know, but that picture told me everything I needed to know about that woman. Part of the reason why I just turned it off and went to bed. One of the sons in his police interview said that his dad was in love with his mom right up until the day he died. Why, I have no idea.
  21. I also appreciated the neat & tidy house and even noticed cleaning supplies scattered about in the kitchen. I kept hoping that Amber would get onboard with the program but didn't hold out much hope when towards the beginning of the episode she turned her nose up at mom's banana with some sort of 'I don't know how you can eat that stuff' comment. Then she ridiculed Dr. Now's book; 'his face is on the cover??' and also when mom did the chair exercises. The poor dog was so looking forward to that walk around the block. If only Amber could have started to do it. Would have been good for both dog and her. Speaking of the dog, this brings me to Dr. Paradise's session with Karen. I have to say, this was my very favourite Dr. Paradise session ever. I loved everything he had to say. One other thing; I was confused when Karen said she worked from home but then later told Dr. Now that she was in school for social work. Perhaps both?
  22. I, too, hope she felt as beautiful as she looked because she did look lovely. I imagine she was self-conscious of it being too form fitting without realizing that not only would it have been even more flattering to her figure if she had worn it the way it was intended to fit, it would have also held up much better and stayed in place better, thus making it more comfortable for her to wear. We are our own worst enemies, for sure.
  23. Two quotes run through my head quite frequently whenever I think of the millions of people who voted for Trump because they actually believed him when he said that he could control the high cost of grocery store item and that he would magically make them all plummet on Day One in office. "Wizard's First Rule: people are stupid." -- Terry Goodkind. "Those who stand for nothing fall for anything." -- most commonly attributed to Alexander Hamilton.
  24. Ah! That explains it then, thank you! I missed that episode.
