Hee, I liked that, too. And as my list of things to like about Whoopi grows shorter & shorter, I have always appreciated the fact that she never hesitates to express her disdain for reality tv. As someone who finds it equally as loathsome, I do love her for that!

Sorry -- Changed my mind! upon re-reading what I wrote, I really didn't have much of a point to make, lol.

I agree! Much the same goes for the Tim McGraw interview. Rosie Perez was so engaged and in the moment with him; I could see them making eye contact with each other and as a viewer, it was so very enjoyable to watch an interview between 2 people who seemed to be enjoying the moment. They were both being thoughtful and sincere with what they were discussing. Rosie did a fanstastic job in this interview and I can see that she is going to great on this show. The overall vibe of the show is so much more calm this year. How nice! I can't believe I am watching the same show. I can't believe I just called The View calm?! In what universe? And there is something to be said for celebs who keep quiet and live super private lives. Because the more Whoopi talks, the less I like her. I am at the point of seriously questioning why ABC even has her on this show because of some of the seriously questionable crap that comes out of her mouth. In other random news, I just realized I have the same haircut as Nichole and Whoopi needs to close her legs when sitting on the stool, please. And I have no idea how to spell Nicolle, Nichole, Nicolle, ... ? why do people do that to their children's names?

These are some of the reasons why I think Rosie is seeming "off" to some people. It's like she's holding her breath with all of that self-restraint. I hope she is soon able to find a happy medium somewhere for herself where she doesn't have to take over & run the show but doesn't have to muzzle herself so tightly either. Knowing that everyone is watching her and is either rooting for her or hoping she loses it probably isn't helping. Edited to add: But as a huge Rosie fan, I wouldn't mind at all if she *did* take over & run the show ... since she is the reason I have tuned back in.

Yes. Sigh. And right before she switched topics she said something like 'Shall we move on?' and when Rosie P. (and maybe Nichole) said 'Yes,' Rosie O. said 'Really?' She totally did not want to stop the discussion but since everyone is being so overly cautious so far, on they go to .... Cris effing Judd. Yawn. I see they are having only a couple of the ladies do the interviews. That's probably going to work. Beats throwing them in the middle of the couch and having them be bombarded with random questions from every direction. Oh yes. This. 2 days in and they are already not living up to their promise that they will be more accurate with what they report as fact. pfft.

Whoopi was not amused when the audience was chanting "Rosie, Rosie!" when the show opened. hee.

I missed the opening bit with Barb & her crone hands. Is it worth googling around for it? Or should I consider myself lucky that I missed it and move on?

Thank you so much for starting this new feature! As a former TWOPer, I will admit that I have had a hard time joining in here as much as I would like to because I find the format of multiple topic threads to be confusing and too hard to keep up with. I honestly just never know where to post something and never know where to go when I am looking for information on something. And to keep up with all of the new posts on a daily basis when there are multiple threads to wade through has been tough for me to get the hang of. So thank you so much for adding this feature!! This will be my new daily go-to thread. :) As for the show today -- they have went back to their roots as far as the set goes. Very reminiscent of the early days. I see they've moved the audience much closer. That is new. Is Geddie still there?

Jenny McCarthy: She Doesn't Want Kids to Get Vaccinated
Cementhead replied to Lisin's topic in The View
Yeah, I was just barely watching the coverage of this on Entertainment Tonight or some such bullshit and that was the first thing that stood out to me -- her face! She definitely did something to her face. My guess is fillers. Lots & lots of fillers. Lips & face. She has now ventured into the plastic-porn look. Classy. -
Oh, how I miss Joy's show on HLN. Whenever they play a clip of it, like they did last night on CNN when she was being interviewed, I remember how much I miss it. It was great. :(

Jenny McCarthy: She Doesn't Want Kids to Get Vaccinated
Cementhead replied to Lisin's topic in The View
And too bad this week's Jenny didn't show up a year ago when she was hired! Because this week she actually has some shit to say instead of just blending in with the wallpaper. Hiring her & slapping a muzzle on her was just one more mistake this show made out of many. -
Future Co-Hosts Talk and Speculation: Musical Chairs
Cementhead replied to mtlchick's topic in The View
Jesus Murphy, I had better get with the new program and get used to reading all of these multiple View threads because I am. So. Out. Of. The. Loop. I've been following one or two but never ventured into this one. So let me get this straight --- Rosie is coming back?! For reals? Or are you people just screwing with us. I echo the posts above this one that question what in the hell would entice her to come back to this shit show? Especially if Sweaty G (TM Cosmocrush) is still at the helm. Whaaa? And I agree with the poster above me who mentioned Rosie and Whoopi are both Alphas, so just how in the hell would this work? But then maybe Whoopi really is trying to get off this piece of shit like I read in one of the other threads here. Good Lord, I cannot keep up with all of this. Mario Cantone? And Rosie and Whoopi? This is some crazy shit, people. -

... and pimp out her skeevy little dad. Guess he'll have to go back to getting his own dates from now on. -

Blonde? Check. Skinny? Check. Christian? Check. Republican? Check. As far as having nothing to say, no biggie. Once she gets hired on as Elisabeth 2.0., she will get all the same private morning meetings with Sweaty G. and he will be filling her ear piece with all of his talking points so she will manage much the same way that EH did. -

Candace Cameron Bure is totally giving Sweaty Geddie (TM Cosmocrush) a massive hard-on. Religious nut-jobbery aside, I think she is totally adorable but the similar hair & clothing styles are 50 shades of Elisabeth Hasslebeck. 20 dollar bet that she ends up being signed on as a new co-host! Edited to add: To her credit, just noticed that her hem line is much longer than anything EH ever wore so there is that. EH never met a micro-micro-mini jacked all the way up "to there" that she didn't love. -

LOL! Well, they could have been Bermuda Shorts or Clam Diggers, too, but I went with the term culottes because I have never used that word in a sentence before and didn't know if I would ever get the chance to again, so... By the time I got a full gander of the shorts, it was too late to check out the shoes, lol. -

Was Whoopi wearing culottes & knee high socks today? There may have also been crocks or some sort of open-toed sandal involved but the show was over before I could get another gander at her ensemble. -
So, I am watching the show because I miss posting with all of you and want to try and get back into the swing of things, but the show has become even more unwatchable in the weeks since I have tuned out ... Sherri has become even more insufferable -- how can that be?? "It's so funny..," "You know, it's so funny because," "You know what's so funny is.." --- how many years has this woman been on the show? Certainly long enough to have learned a new conversation opener by now. I've only watched 2 days in a row and yet I am already SO tired of hearing this coming of her piehole. And WTF is with all of the "Mama" crap? She just called Angie Harmon "Mama." And "You go, Mama!" And my consensus after 2 days back-to-back of watching is that this show should now be called 'The Sherri Show.' Jeffrey stories abound (always negative and disastrous), memories of her legal secretary days, stories of ass selfies & ignorant, misguided opinions.
-
Sherri's hair today has finally driven me to jump in & join this thread! I am barely watching the show anymore so I never have anything to say but I tuned in today just long enough to see that she was wearing a dead raccoon on her head. I need to go back through this thread to read what I've missed about the huzzbin situation.
-
I totally agree with you on that, susieq147. I meant to include that in my above thoughts when I was typing but forgot to get it in. Joy's leaving definitely marked 'the beginning of the end' but I still kept tuning in for the first 10 minutes of Hot Topics and would catch some of the trainwreck that was The Year of Barbara.

I've tried to watch The View a few times since BW left and since TWOP shut down and I just can't get into it anymore. I've lost all interest. Seems like an entirely different show now. With all of the original hosts all gone now and with that barely even mediocre panel of new hosts, it is no longer The View.

Aww, Thanks Medicine Crow and Catty Tiger for the above mention! I appreciate that! It is sooo nice to see familiar names here tonight as it will make the transitioning so much easier.

Thought I would try out my new account to make sure it works ... seems it does. So nice to see the familiar names here from twop. It will hopefully make the transition less tragic for me come May.
