Isabella was only killed off because the actress could not negotiate a contract with the show. Also the person who wrote Kristen's descent into evil was not the same writer that wrote for Isabella.. So we will never know what might have been but it is cool to speculate..

Sherry said that the affair was going to happen even if Drake had remained Roman. I often wonder what would have happened if Isabella had never died and had stayed on the show. Would Brady exist? Would Isabella go bad like Kristen? Would Belle exist? The dynamics of the situation changed when it became a Roman/Marlena/John triangle as opposed to a Marlena/Roman/Isabella triangle that was planned with Drake as Roman..

Remember Wayne was never supposed to come back. Deidre Hall made it a condition for her return on the show. The ratings were going down they were desperate and gave in to her demands. All of the plans for Drake as Roman were scrapped and the tale of two Romans came to be.. Drake was very hurt by that development.

That was a hot mess, the beginning of the end in my humble opinion. The runner up to that is John not being Roman, it was stupid unnecessary and shortsighted..

Exactly! Anjelica was complex and there are so many things that Ron could have done with her. Anjelica willingly gave up custody of her son Alex to Justin and Adrienne because she loved him enough to realize that they could give him the stability that she could not.. I could see Anjelica trying to sabotage Adrienne and Jennifer's endeavor to restart Jack's old newspaper, perhaps, Alexander finds out about her schemes and he cuts all ties to her pushing her to seek revenge via JJ because she blames Jennifer the most. I could see her pushing Jack to go into politics to Jennifer's chagrin. I could even envision a scenario where Anjelica and Adrienne have to team up to save Alexander. Anjelica's shady dealings with an ex lover with ties to Victor come back to haunt her.. Meanwhile Victor Kiriakis Jr. comes to town seeking help from his family because his twin Joseph is missing and he gets swept up in Anjelica's web. Wilson is also affected by her. So many possibilities wasted by Ron..

Yes she was married to Cal and the way that they broke up Roman and Diana has always pissed me off.. Ron is a hack so it is not surprising that he ruined both Diana and Angelica for his stupid stories. Diana was not needed on the show and Anjelica should have been the vehicle to introduce Alexander Neil Kiriakis. Her animosity regarding Adrienne should have been about her son preferring Adrienne over her and not Justin. Anjelica could have bonded with JJ creating a rift between Jack and Jennifer.

Don't forget Andrew's kidnapping and Victor asserting dominance over Kim and Shane.. The best thing about 1987, there are no Dimeras in sight.. Those were the days when not every bad thing that happens to a Salemite is due to Stefano the marvel supervillain and his mad doctor Rolf.. Stefano becoming a supervillain in the 90's and beyond ruined him in my humble opinion.. He was much better in the 80's and his best rivalry was with Roman and Rojohn. His confrontation with Roman at the beach scared the hell out of me, that is how you write a scary villain.. His hatred for Roman was bone chilling.. It is too bad that awesome rivalry was abandoned for that insipid John/Stefano one with the million backstories in order to make that stupid retcon of John not being Roman sensical.

You are so correct in that these past 4 years has been one long civics lesson. I was actually shocked by my own ignorance and knowledge is indeed power. When you know better you do better..

You also had Rojohn dealing with the aftermath of Marlena's death and falling for Diana. Justin and Adrienne were getting closer e.t.c.

As long as Ava is on the screen, I will not watch the show. Has the show forgotten that this bitch killed Papa Sean? and for that reason alone, Kayla should hate her forever..

Some of The Another world actors used to meet once a year for brunch/dinner and catch up. I have always noticed the soaps in New York were always super close on and off the set. Some of them still remain in contact with each other till this day.. I never get that same vibe with the LA soaps..

Yup and they left on their boat "fancy face" with their baby Sean-Douglas.. The writers really cared about attention to details and the fans. I miss that about soaps when they respected the fans and wrote accordingly..

Exactly! if you were not a Bo/Hope fan then you had other couples to enjoy. Look at how Ken Corday was panicking years ago in those leak Sony emails because he had built the show around EJ/Sami. The actors had informed him that they wanted to leave because they were burnt out and he had no plan to fall back on.

1987 is another good year and I loved how Bo and Hope were slowly being transitioned out of the show that year. The actors had told the producers that they were not staying and they were given a wonderful exit that was a love letter to the fans.. I also think that the actors wanted to be away from each other...lol

Ron is at the helm and his lack of talent is evident everyday..

I too like Linda Dano but why must Ron bring another crazy woman back on the show.. Louise Sorel is the only Vivian in my humble opinion, if she cannot reprise the role then leave Vivian alone..

Don't forget Ava played mind games with Joey who was an impressionable teenager at the time.

Joy was on fire during the first block she had me rolling with laughter and I agreed with every word. Katie is just too damn awesome for words and she is a progressive who does not suffer fools gladly. She is often under the radar taking down people with her white board that Sunny referenced when she was chatting with her.

I feel no sympathy for Kenya, I only feel bad for the baby who is the innocent person in this mess.

I agree as Eve is transitioning out of the show, it is apparent that she offers no opinion that is thought-provoking. The only time that she ever expressed herself in a compelling manner was when she blasted Kanye over his slavery is a choice comment.. She was really hurt and repulsed by his ignorant comment..

Exactly! Roman and Rojohn were not dumbed down to make Stefano compelling.. Also, Stefano paid for his evil schemes, he brought Andre into town to destroy Roman and Tony to a certain extent. He had no idea that the evil he unleashed was going to destroy his beloved daughter Renee.. The villains used to pay for their misdeeds now they get everything and anything. Kristen got a daughter after all the crap she has pulled with people's children and Sara who has never done anything bad to anybody had her baby die..

They should never get complacent and strive to improve, just my opinion..

I noticed that too and she mentioned them the other day. I think she got rid of the cats just my opinion. Pets are not for everybody and I hope Wendy gave them to good people who will love them and take care of them.

I love Kayla but you are correct that she has had awful storylines since her return in 2006. Kayla is no longer as dynamic as she was in the 80's and that is due to the show no longer knowing how to write for a heroine like her.. They are obsessed with the likes of Kristen and Ava. They are the "heroines" now whether we like it or not. It is why I have chosen to no longer watch the show..
