The only ones that may be worse are those who "want to put our own stamp on it" types. That stamp is nearly always the same thing all these flippers and new builds are doing. Open concept white/grey is not your stamp.

I'm willing to bet they are also wealthier than those who don't, and that makes a huge difference.

Maybe I'm just an inveterate loner, but I don't understand all these people so worried about their guest space(s). Unless you've got people coming to stay every weekend or for months at a time, why are you putting so much consideration into the 5-10% of your life, not the rest of it? So nice to see a Craftsman that actually was one, and with that beautiful word work still there and not painted!

I've spent a fair amount of time on serious painkillers and except for minor withdrawal symptoms I've never had any of those "fun" side effects so many people get, though I do get quite tired after the first few doses. And the first time I took dilaudid my upper lip itched like crazy. Apparently it's a fairly common occurrence, according to the doctor.

I've never been a nut for natural sunlight, but I don't think I could live in that flat in Tulum. I'd have to spend the whole time in the bedroom.

Which in a real way makes it worse. It's sort of like how people can claim to not be anti-Black racist because they're not calling people the n-word, while all the while they're dog whistling with other words and/or actions.
