  1. HH has given me a new pet peeve. I've been watching a whole bunch of repeats and can't believe I didn't notice it before: there are a lot of complete morons with apparently no imaginations who walk into houses and if it's not essentially just one room they ask the real estate agent "what is this room" or "what is this room for?". Is there some sort of law that requires people to do certain things with a room, and only that certain thing?
  2. Still bored with the "design", though at least open concept isn't a constant requirement.
  3. Yes, and that was, sadly, revolutionary. It's pathetic to me that other programmes haven't followed suit. Gay marriage or even relationships are illegal in other countries but mainstream television has no problems with them. It's time for abortion to come out of the closet.
  4. Name one time it's happened? Truly, name one. As for the point? It's real. Characters can deal with it. It's a cop out and bad writing when the viewer knows that every time a woman gets pregnant she'll either have it and ruin her life or 'dramatically' miscarry. As for Arrow, the storyline they shouldn't have bothered with was Oliver lying to Felicity when half of Star City already knew about the kid.... Second, the world isn't divided. According to polls more than half the country is fine with abortion.
  5. Yikes, except for not having any real style I think Ya'll judged the Tampa woman harshly.
  6. No woman on these programmes is EVER in favour of an abortion. Abortion doesn't exist on television or films, except as a concept to be dismissed.
  7. I know plenty of moms who wish someone had listened to them, instead of forcing them endure what they did during the birth process.
  8. Ugh. It's as if abortion doesn't exist in the television world.
  9. I'd look her up to make sure she's not claiming to be licensed when she isn't.
  10. Actually I believe they got it because it was cheaper in the end. With the suburban place they'd have to buy a car. Between the hassle and petrol it wouldn't be worth it. Lots of married couples have different surnames. And I'd be fine with a woman (or man) sporting a nose ring helping me deliver a newborn.
  11. Very few people on HGTV know how to pronounce foyer, or know the definitions of the words "flow" and "cute". If I have to hear about "natural sunlight" one more time....
  12. Or that they want either really obese children or are going to experiment with helium. Maybe a mix of both. She said she worked at a non-profit. Why can't successful people be quirky and optimistic? I think those two things would be almost requirements for good non-profit leaders.
  13. I really felt for the Lille woman. I hope she ends up having a good time and enjoying herself.
  14. They can't even give the back garden just a moment of thought?! Yikes.
  15. Everything she could ever want materially that is. Gained illegally of course.
  16. The media might drive it, but that's no excuse for the government to let it. They could change the story if they wanted to.
  17. I've watched a few TDFs and I like the sister but the two boys are annoying. Real question: can you tell the houses apart after they've been flipped? Or could each house be on either programme?
  18. At least on Flipping 101 there are people to make fun of. Though it does ruin it all when they end up selling a crap place and making millions off it.....
  19. Having some sambuca after a nooner? A nice ginger ale to end the day sounds good to me. I can never eat or drink in the morning.
  20. Interesting you say it's a throwback and yet contemporary lol.
  21. My pet peeves: saying that one room has "flow", and obsessing over natural light. Oh and calling everything cute. I don't think most people know what the actual definition of the words cute or flow are.
  22. Interesting, as my great-aunt has mobility issues and uses a wheelchair/zimmer frame and she can't abide open concept. Says the noise is too much and that her physical therapist tells her she needs to walk more carefully anyway lol. That and she (my great-aunt not the therapist) says walls are best when it comes to my great-uncle ;)
  23. I feel for their daughters, but Erin and Ben brought this on themselves. They didn't have to film their children or reveal their names. They didn't have to bring cameras into their home(s) in order to do their jobs.
