  1. It's working at developing places around the world. She mentioned visiting and living in Africa and the Carribean, that makes sense. Working for NGOs/government aid, the UN, World Bank, international foundations. It's usually for the good.
  2. We also "see" people doing that on other HGTV programmes, when it turns out they are actually using a designer behind the scenes. Not to mention, putting the same, nearly identical, kitchen/bathroom/fireplace/flooring/wall paint into 98% of the houses does not a designer make.
  3. Reminds me of a story. One of my cousins lived in Springfield (one of the many USA Springfields), was on the metro in Moscow and asked where she was from. When she told the man Springfield, he asked if she knew the Simpson family lol. She says she still can't decide if he was serious or joking.
  4. How do we know Christina did any of the work on the old FF? And even if she did, filming yourself dithering over the same design over and over doesn't make one a professional designer. At least not in my book.
  5. What do these "designers" have against colour that isn't white/black or grey?!
  6. I always side-eye these people who want almost full glass doors. With open concept anyone can see most of your house.
  7. Eh, I did my share of midnight walkabouts in the summer as a teenager and, looking back, I think that's when my friends and I got in the least amount of mischief lol.
  8. That would have shown me that the Baywatch writers and producers were misogynistic assholes. Why are you blaming an innocent woman for happening to be late 20th century attractive? (Something she is required to be to even be allowed near a programme like Baywatch).
  9. Why is "bitch little girl" an insult? Sounds like 3 things that are value neutral. Unless the person using them as an insult happens to be a misogynist.
  10. But the writers only acknowledged it to themselves, and barely. The characters went on acting as if they'd made no mistake whatsoever. If Kasie hadn't done her job properly, Gibbs and Jack and Co would have happily put an innocent guy in prison. Everybody kept acting as if G/J & Co were always right. After such a HUGE and obvious example of their egregiously bad skills I would be seriously questioning everything else they say. No one does.
  11. Why do you have his back? Genuine question. Are you just entertained by his programme, and others like it. Or do you believe these people are getting actual proof of the paranormal?
  12. Damn, and I thought British boarding schools could be rough...
  13. I think pretty much everything on TV is overpowered. Their guns also cause people to be actually thrown backwards when they get shot.
  14. Doesn't "made in Miss" (or USA) pretty much always mean "put together in Miss all from parts made in China"?
  15. I just watched the end of the NCIS episode "Love Thy Neighbour" and remember all the reasons I have hated this programme since about series 6. Gibbs and Co bring in the suspect they think is a serial killer. While Gibbs and Bishop interrogate him Jack is watching behind the two-way mirror going on and on about how it definitely is him because he's too cool and only a true psychopath would act like that. Then Gibbs pointlessly (and if this programme existed in a world with logic and laws, stupidly) pulls out a knife and violently stabs it into the table. He walks out of the room and they all congratulate themselves on catching this obviously dangerous killer. Until Casey gives them info that it's not the man, it's his wife that is the serial killer. And nothing else is said about Jack and Gibbs 100% surety that Mr (not Mrs SK) is obviously a psychopath. They were 100000% wrong, but nothing more is said. Ugh. Once again, I can't stand these people and their writers.
  16. This isn't directed at you or meant to insult you in any way, but just the fact that people who aren't these children's family or close friends know even this much about them sickens me.
  17. The flood waters were only there during the rainy season, the girls have the beach too. Other dogs manage well enough, so I think it will do fine. The family can hire any cook/chef they want, so that checks off food. Parking in the same place the previous owners and drivers did. They carry and pull luggage the rest of the way. As for water smell, not really. Unless people are throwing trash in or defecating into it, which they usually aren't...
  18. I wonder if a single "designer/renovator" thought about putting a wall between the gigantic kitchen and the rest of the main public area?

    The NBA

The thing is, a lot of these guys DO have those people, but the men they hire don't have the athlete's best interest at heart. They're hangeron-ers and out for themselves.
  20. Great article on JK Rowling's new podcast by the wonderful Monica Hesse. Just confirms, once again, that Rowling is a bigot who has as many problems with facts in the real world as she does with plot holes in her fictional one www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/2023/03/06/witch-trials-jk-rowling-podcast-hesse-column/
  21. I live in an area where streets start in one place, then continue miles away in another direction. The same street!
  22. They inherit it and then live in a country where they pay next to nothing, or even nothing, in taxes.
  23. The children's acting may have improved, but the scripts and storytelling went seriously downhill from the third film onwards.
