  1. Just watching the show today. Ick didn’t sound too convincing when Dani said she wasn’t coming to Rio. Also, his response to her announcing the pregnancy was underwhelming at best. And yet, they now have another child to raise. That makes four, including Ick.
  2. Trying to generate interest in the Valley, which I won’t even start. I appreciated Scheana going after Sandoval. No one seems to realize that that restraining order will appear on background checks for Scheana for the foreseeable future. That is damaging to most anything she may want to do, post-show. Sandoval dismissing her anger about it doesn’t help his case for acceptance at all.
  3. West is barking up a difficult tree. Ciara just isn’t going to have time for him. He is just a toy for her and I don’t mean that to be insulting to her. Probably would be better for him to focus on getting a job again. The writing is on the wall for Carl and Lins. She isn’t ready for marriage. Not one bit. Substance abuse recovery is a long process. She is not the person Carl needs during recovery.
  4. I strongly suspect that Dannielle has already been abandoned by Garrick. He'd've done it whether Roberta hung around or this new one stuck around. Garrick tossed Dani to the curb the moment he divorced her in favor of Roberta. Once Roberta abandoned them, Garrick made no move to re-marry Dani or even give her any comfort or stability in their relationship. The video she shot of the two of them arguing over Nathalia's communication with Dani spoke volumes about both of them. She came off quite unhinged and he came off quite uninterested in her point of view. This is an abusive relationship, even though it's not violent, as they don't know how to communicate with each other about this activity and he's simply not listening to her and minimizing her feelings. I hope to read soon that they've separated, but at the same time Dani has no visible means of support and Garrick isn't going to willingly give up the few assets he has (meaning his business).
  5. Hell, I just moved back to Connecticut from Wisconsin back in August. Hubby will follow as soon as there is an opening in the CT branch of the business he’s in. I moved to Wisconsin almost ten years ago, but when I retired, he said we should move back and here we are. Far as I am concerned, this outcome was surprising to me, but no different than so many of the other relationships that didn’t make it past the honeymoon phase. Now I wonder what the financial implications are for the two of them with their more complicated finances.
  6. Good thing she did all that BEFORE he dumped her.
  7. When my now-ex husband attempted suicide in 90’s, the doctors we dealt with said that if it hadn’t happened then, it would’ve happened later. Suicide, they told me, isn’t always an impulsive move but is well thought out and planned. The same doctors told me that suicide isn’t something that someone else can stop. The recriminations of ‘I could’ve stopped this’ are false and unhelpful. My ex passed away in December, nearly 30 years to the day from the attempt he survived, but from which he was forever changed.
  8. Both show demographics have their casts in their 40s. Still pitiful and sad.
  9. When you get a chance to watch early seasons, you can see that Lindsey has NEVER respected her partners or her friends. She has some serious unresolved abandonment issues, or something, that push her into these rages on the slightest provocation, real or imagined. She should not be in a long-term relationship and definitely should not consider getting married. Look at what she did to Danielle last season, look at the ‘make ME a sandwich’ from an earlier season. She is deeply disrespectful in her relationships. She will continue to be single and not by choice.
  10. They need to get new people for the show. Ones that aren’t jaded and pushing or past 40. The interesting part of the show was the interaction at the restaurant. No one works there anymore. In fact, most of them just plain don’t work. Pining for an invite to DWTS and whining about not getting one is not a job. I am also avoiding The Village because, even in a different setting, these people have no redeeming qualities.
  11. Reminds me of that long-ago story where the female astronaut drove multiple dozens of hours to stalk a paramour. Wondering if, like her, they stocked up on diapers for the trip, so they wouldn’t have to stop during their 12 hour drive for necessary facilities.
  12. Agreed. Are the available story lines so lacking that they have to pull something out that happened ten YEARS ago to have anything to film. Stick a fork in VPR. It’s cooked.
  13. I think they are walking on eggshells around her, which isn’t healthy for her or for her friends. That said, if she did get on another show, she can walk away from Vanderpump Rules and not look back. She won’t have to interact with any of them or them with her. Hopefully, that contract comes with a bit better money for her too. This all leaves Katie in a lurch and she hasn’t done much to endear herself to the rest of the group. Constantly sour-faced and acting the sycophant to Ariana isn’t a story line.
  14. Re: Danielle and Ick. Always remember and never forget: They got divorced so Roberta could come to America to be married. Danielle has no obligation to stay with Ick except for the kids. They will eventually be old enough and she can leave. I hope she is banking her portion of the TLC checks, so she will have a nest egg after all of this. Divorced, she gets nothing from Ick.
  15. I guess this show has such low interest, there isn't even an episode thread for this week.

    The Valley

Let me be the first to say: This is like watching paint dry or grass grow…..
  18. Lindsay is definitely making the story about how awful Carl is. He isn’t. But she has a history of narcissism where she cannot be to blame for anything. It is always someone else’s fault. Look what she did to Danielle last year. Look what she did to the previous boyfriend a couple of seasons back. She is perfect for the public relations field, which I imagine she will have to return to after the break up, because she spin anything. Great PR person; lousy mate.
  19. I am starting to notice something here. If Ariana isn’t careful, she is going to find herself on the outside looking in. The glare that Katie had on her face at the end of the episode tells me she is angrier than Ariana is. If Ariana leaves, Katie will have no one. Sandoval is not guiltless of course. Rachel has ditched everyone and has left her forever partner standing in the breach. Scheana and Brock are on their way out too. Probably divorcing in a year or two. Summer Moon’s broken arm is nothing unusual, but it happened on her watch. And Scheana really broke the fourth wall in the coming attractions when she asked Sandoval if his friendship was only for while the cameras were running. I hope the Village is half decent because VPR is on its last gasp.
  20. I'm back to wondering how it was that Carl and Lindsey got an invitation to the WH Fourth of July party..... I don't get how that happened.
  21. Yes, I believe he is, but her mom and sister and such are telling him, in doing so, that he's not being supportive, which is hogwash.
  22. I think she's having serious issues managing her OCD. Probably needs her med(s) regulated as mood enhancer style drugs really require a good amount of management. If she's also drinking alcohol (and I don't think she is, but IF she is), the drugs and the booze don't play well together. I also suspect being away from Summer Moon is not going well for her - this trip was too long for her to be away, when she has serious issues with separation anxiety. I recall from the retrospective on the affair that Sandoval was the one person in the group that made her feel welcome. It's a 15 year friendship that, last season, she felt she needed to termination after all the lies and deceits. She seems to really be trying to balance it all, but she doesn't have the tools to do it. Ariana isn't making it easy for anyone, either. I stand by my earlier position that says she needs to leave LA, go to her boyfriend in NYC and start over. These dingbats are just going to weigh her down as they continue to re-absorb Sandoval (to their everlasting disappointment in a couple of years when he does this all again).
  23. When I listened to Garrick's drivel about polygamy and the Bible, I was literally shouting at my TV that none of that is in the Bible. As with most religiosity, his interpretation is made-up to suit his whims. Hell, even Dannielle was smirking a bit about it. She's no fool (or is she?).
  24. I appreciate Rachel's candor in saying that she's no longer with Tom and doesn't want to see him. This whole scenario she's been in has not given her a good look, nor has it done much for Sandoval. I think we've always known Tom was a bit of a creep, but this just shone a bright light on him. Lisa has gotten snookered into believing that Sandoval would do something drastic, but demanding that the gang 'say something nice about him' is not going to endear either her or him to the gang. What Ariana does next is irrelevant, but Katie may still need to be part of the group (I see Ariana leaving LA after the house is sold and having nothing to do with any of them, taking up in NYC with her new beau and creating a new life for herself). The show in general doesn't have all that much life left in it. I see it ending after this season for lack of any interest.
  25. Years ago, when my mom had a pool at the house, there was always a bin of towels for folks to use if needed.
