  1. I'm not surprised that DR/Dig is getting a pilot for another Arrowverse show and I'm not surprised that they're trying out a "Legacies" type of show again on the CW. It's just that I'm a tiny bit surprised to see them being the *same* show with Diggle in the Alaric role. Although perhaps I shouldn't be. He is Yoda after all.
  2. Olicity got quite a bit of praise that season IIRC, with a lot of people liking them getting back together in a fairly low key way and being the only characters not to have a horrible break up in the stupid Civil Bore. Felicity and William also got quite a bit of love after her 6x11 speech, despite the rushed and sparse nature of William's storyline in general. Maybe he means how the double wedding went down? I'd have thought he meant S4 because he has admitted (slightly) that he'd do things differently before now.
  3. It's frustrating to me whoever does it. I got massively annoyed at Barry's "Oliver couldn't possibly have left me a purely sentimental gift! He wasn't like that!" When 5 minutes of watching Arrow would show differently - even the pilot. The Flash writers have such a simplistic view of everything and clearly didn't watch Arrow. Which is fine. But then they shouldn't write nonsense about it. Notice in this post and my first one, I never actually ever blame *Iris* for anything that came out of her mouth, I used the phrase "the writers". I think the door is clearly open for potential further appearances otherwise they would have wrapped everything up. The reason I wondered about another spin off is that I think they'd still like a Legacies show and despite the setting up for the next ep it didn't seem co-incidental that Iris mentioned them to Mia. That said I would be happy to just hear that Mia rescued her brother and they are having adventures off screen. It's probably not something I would bother with at this point. Diggle's big crossover appearances basically went nowhere so it wouldn't actually surprise me if they left Mia and William dangling, despite leaving the door wide open and everything unresolved.
  4. I mean it's possible but would DC or the CW be interested, especially now that they have Superman and Lois? You might get Erica back but obvious AM is out and CF and JH are both busy with other things. Not that they're necessarily important to a revival but otherwise the show is pretty much S&L. I wasn't exactly thrilled with COIE's version of what happened so I wouldn't necessarily mind if they changed that but OTOH I'm not jumping at the chance for more.
  5. It was right for Oliver to kill DD at the time. It took three further deaths and resurrections to get him to the place where he is now and that's basically just "not actively genocidal". And even then it was realising his daughter wasn't going to rule the universe but be consumed by a demon (after giving her to said death cult in the first place) that started him off. Ending Thawne is unquestionably the right thing to do, so naturally they'll not only never do it but give increasingly silly reasons why not. N McD is so, so good as DD, it's always such a delight to see him and he always looks like he's having a blast. And he always does even better when with Nora and Dad convo between him and NotDeadYet!Joe! Awesome. It was great to see CF again and let her have her swan song in the Arrowverse after abruptly being let go. The Flash writers always seem to default to season 1 Oliver when they write him and have a very black and white view. Killing didn't ruin his life per se, he was a pretty happy guy when allowed to be despite all the horror he witnessed, and he spent more time as the GA *not* killing than killing. And whilst he went back and forward on it, it is better than not letting nature take it's course and letting Thawne fade out (not even killing him). Poor William kidnapped for 2 years. I'd hoped they'd actually resolve that, unlike Diggle's guest spot but I guess they want Mia to hang around the present for a while to potentially guest star again? Or new attempt at a Legacies type spin off? Iris made sure to meantion meeting Bart and Nora. Not sure why she's so into killing DD for *Laurel* unless in this timeline she's doing it for Uncle Tommy. I mean I know she was a BC, her mother's friend etc but that was an instant recognition/reaction for someone who she never actually knew.
  6. Does Joey count? It was a continuation of Joey Tribiani's story from friend and only happened after that show ended. Frasier would be in the same category, in that they changed almost everything about the settings and most supporting characters but it was supposed to be a continuation of that character's story. Scrubs S9 would be an example of a show basically turning itself into a sequel, even subtitling itself "Scrubs: Med School" in some places. The whole show was changed with former stars making mostly guest appearances IIRC and no JD POV. Once Upon a Time S7 was basically the same thing. I initially thought you meant the masses of "revivals" with the original casts, which probably don't count like The Comeback, iCarly, Will and Grace, X Files, Rosanne (pre firing) etc since they're usually listed as simply adding to the original seasons. There are ones in the middle of straight continuation to sequel like Heroes Reborn and Leverage: Redemption. CSI: Vegas also seems to want to be both a sequel and revival/continuation.
  7. Well that's certainly a choice, and not a good one IMHO. She was part of the short lived "Shethority" wasn't she? OTOH she has connections with Kreisberg and his wife so I suppose if any of the female cast were going to work with him again it would be her or DP. I don't know if the others know and don't care or don't know. It was kept pretty quiet. I listen to comedy radio on the BBC and I didn't even know about it. Then again I guess many relationships between actors are fake or exaggerated anyway, although she and CL do appear to have been genuinely close. So I've just listened to it: It had already been announced it wasn't being picked up so I'm not contributing to AK's career. It was also definitely recorded recently because it's set in 2021 talks about Covid and the main character having "his second jab". It was pretty bad. Full of cliches, stilted writing (even taking into account radio) and erection jokes in the first 5 minutes. But it's okay because the guy mentions that there's no place for misogyny in space and that he could be Janeway! Katie plays a character that gets abducted on the way to her wedding. It's pretty much her standard bitchy character and she's the one that gets the second biggest role apart from the main guy so it wasn't just a favour for Kreisberg. I wonder why she did it, it can't pay that much and being associated again with AK isn't going to help much. And that's before you get into his disgusting behaviour on the set and BTS of the Arrowverse with so many women. The BBC definitely shouldn't have commissioned it considering this isn't the first time they've got into at best questionable territory over something like this.
  8. I can't believe it's been four years since we were all desperately trying to dissect the double wedding rumours all summer. And then the spoiler photos came out. Despite the awkward set up in the first ep COEX really did become a pretty good Olicity story IMO and somewhat surprisingly they took most of the emotional arc along with Firestorm. And it's still the best crossover.
  9. I can't see any reason they'd bring back Ronnie this late in the game unless it was to give Caitlin a potential "happy ending" of some sort with him. He's been gone since S2 and she's dated plenty after that and they've already done the "I want you to be happy" stuff before. It feels like when they brought back Roy for a couple of episodes of Arrow and Thea left with him. Although we all knew WH was leaving and I'd be surprised if DP actually left. That said it is possible he's playing someone else. But maximum impact would actually be as Ronnie via Crisis somehow. Ronnie's the only one I've actually liked with Caitlin and it's a shame RA couldn't commit to being a guest star longer term (although we may never never have got Jax and I loved Jax on LOT).
  10. Unfortunately I know of a case where a 13 year old started molesting and then raping two of his siblings. His parents aren't religious, conservative or hypersexual. The rest of the family is/was average, stable and loving with no obvious "this was the trigger" issues going on. This kid is clearly not well, mentally speaking but I'm not blaming his family or upbringing considering the rest of his siblings were well aware that what was happening was wrong. When his parents found out about the abuse they went straight to the police and social services within the day. It was the right thing to do but it was incredibly difficult for them. The local authorities actually worked really, really hard to get the abuser the help he clearly needed, as well as his victims. They worked with all the family (the abuser wasn't allowed in the room with the victims). This is where the Duggars went wrong (one of the many, many, many places). If they had actually done the right thing at the time then all the records would be sealed, their brand wouldn't be in tatters and more importantly a 12 year old who was clearly extremely sick to be doing what he was doing was denied actual professional help to change. *as well as* the victims being denied proper help. They could have avoided all this and actually helped all their kids. Interestingly enough the mother I mentioned above said that a police officer told her that they believed that it was more common than anyone knows. Not that it is normal or should be normalised, far from it, just that they believed it's a very, very under reported crime.
  11. Kat has given quotes that make it seem as though her appearance ties in with Armageddon even though I assume she arrives there looking for ways to save William. At the very least she should have some insight into the future. They'll drag Reverse Flash out until the show's finale.
  12. And then there are the fans who swear they've wanted to bang since the pilot, or at least season 2. ;) I actually sympathise with both shippers and anti shippers on this one and I think X Files went about it in the worst possible way and actually helped create the "Are they or aren't they?" obsession on both sides. Although in my comparison Mulder and Scully were more like a straight version of Myka/HG that *were* eventually revealed to be romantically and sexually involved rather than the sudden Myka/Pete in the finale. But obviously there's a huge amount of YMMV on that one.
  13. Well I'm not going to bother catching up with the last few episodes now! Micki was by far my favourite character and I loved Trey. At least it seems like there's a chance she will be back when Lindsey is feeling better. I hope she's able to recover and get any help she needs. This show could go at least 5 years so she's walking away from longterm employment whatever's going on. Elsewhere I saw reference to some sort of drama that I apparently missed though.
  14. Interesting, it seems they're potentially packing quite a bit into her ep. I assume there will be a William rescued mention, otherwise I will riot. I assume her possibly evil (ex?) fiance will be mentioned as well but I'm just concerned with William and that stupid cliff hanger, even though it's not really a reach to just fanwank that she rescued him. No real interest in what the Canaries are up to, but they might well be name checked too.
  15. Having binged watched a lot of shows over the last 18 months for quarantine reasons I just need to reiterate how much I hate "will they, won't they" on TV. In 99% of cases by the time the characters get together it's either thrown together at the last minute so it's not at all satisfying or it's in the last couple of seasons when the writers, actors and audience are all board and the storyline is terrible. In both cases anything interesting or unique able the pairing or show has been used up. The characters come across like morons for not being able to act like adults who like each other but are always super jealous whenever anyone else pays attention or they've had so many triangles or break ups that the relationship seems toxic. That's why the damn "Moonlighting Curse myth" still exists. The shows are always running on fumes anyway. Worst offender is still Castle for me, in the early seasons they actually showed promise of not dragging it out for years but squandered that. Special shout out to the granddaddy of the modern versions of this, The X Files, I know CC was noromo which is fine but then maybe don't *still* make the show a melodrama most soaps would be proud of whilst refusing to even have them together on screen for years. And then manage to create further cliche and stupidity in the revival. I have to say Bones pulling the same "surprise pregnant!" stunt over a decade later was a special choice. And I found out JAG had it's torturous melodramatic WTWT undone in NCIS:LA, which made me roll my eyes a lot. None of this was news to me but binging a lot made it extremely clear how this goes the same way every single time and yet most shows are still terrified to change it up.
  16. I don't know what his problem is with the "repurposing" of the pic? I kind of got tired of the original being everywhere last year because I was frustrated with how they killed Oliver in the crossover (even if the ending overall was ok). But people using it for memes is funny and harmless. I could see him being grumpy about Grant's V sign being more well known than his own death scene and all the stuff he said about how he felt about the crossover/ending last year but why be specifically arsy about memes and not the original?
  17. What episode are they filming right now does anyone know? I presume it must be ep 4 or 5?
  18. I actually assumed that it was! Oh well, his loss if so. Still processing the ending of the entire show, but 99!
  19. For once I agree with Ken Pursuit. She has always said how much she loved playing Mia and how she'd love to come back, she was talking about it at least as recently as June. And whilst that could have been just talk, it clearly wasn't. Turning up at SA's Heels premiere should have been another clue. Re the canaries, I think if they were going to be in it they'd have been announced with the rest. Even though neither Dinah or Laurel are the Arrowverse's best version BC is still a big comics name.
  20. Were they deliberately trying to make it sound like an ad for Oliver's new IT Girl with benefits? "work closely with Oliver Queen" "occasionally break the rules" "schedule must be flexible" "seeking an individual to follow directions without question and handle sensitive requests, discretion is key to this position." attn Felicity Smoak. I know it's mostly haha, he's the Arrow but it's also a creepy "extra special role" ad.
  21. It's taken them nearly two years to film S3, so it better be epic. ;) I'm going to have to do a rewatch to remember how they resolved the Kelly thing. Admiral Victor Garber, Admiral Ted Danson, Admiral Kelly Hu, Admiral Ron Canada all at once. That's a lot of admirals and they aren't even Evil Admirals.
  22. I've kind of been assuming that's half the reason they're using Mia (beyond tying up a couple of loose ends, general GAness and KM being willing and eager to come back) that they want a next generation team up as they did with FTA. I think they'd also like to use the kids in this big crossover guest star palooza. Of course it might also depend on if she's in just the one ep or more.
  23. I don't know if some of the actual actors are that cheap, even if many of them don't have expensive special effects. It looks like for the most part (apart from JL) they avoided anyone who's the lead or supporting character of an ongoing Arrowverse show due to scheduling conflicts and possible covid complications. I also assume that MB having just finished Supergirl, isn't keen to hang around and do guest spots on this "not a crossover but actually a crossover" arc. It's possibly still more of a novelty for Cress Williams to crossover and I really liked his scenes in COIE so looking forward to him. I'm a little surprised it's just Alex from Supergirl even though I like her because if it's an alien threat then Brainy or Nia aren't that expensive to do but again it might be a question of availability. I'm always happy to see Ray, especially given the way BR was unhappy with being suddenly let go and I would imagine he's going to properly hand over the mantle to Ryan. Ryan was fine in COIE but I'm not particularly excited to see him again. I also love me some Damian Darkh. Not surprised about TC but I wish Matt Lescher would get more of a look in. I expect Mia is there partly because she's from the 2040s and probably knows Bart and Nora and they can have a storyline together and tease some future stuff for Barry. I wasn't particularly impressed with Diggle's tour around the Arrowverse, even though we haven't seen how it ends yet, so I'm keeping my expectations way down about this and hoping it has some good character interaction because alien Armageddon was quite bland the first time they did it.
  24. Mia (and Ray and Damien) are returning for the Flash "5 episode event". Hopefully this might mean we at least hear she rescued William from his forever kidnapping. This also makes me wonder if they might try another LOT type show for a legacies team up with Mia, Nora, Bart and Ryan Choi, although it would be expensive and been there, done that for this point in the Arrowverse. https://deadline.com/2021/08/the-flash-lineup-of-superheroes-villains-revealed-for-5-part-season-8-launch-event-1234821825/
  25. Allegedly, very allegedly CB walked because this wasn't the pilot she was promised when she signed on. I can see why she didn't want to wait around another year to see if they could retool it a bit. The CW has done that with several shows that never ended up seeing the light of day, although they did change a lot of the casts in that case. Having read the leaked script (which apparently was also changed a lot) I can't say I would have much interest in this show. I hate it when the "dark, gritty" blah blah blah reboot trashes the original to score points they haven't actually earned yet, especially when they're destroying all the positive relationships and storylines in the process. The rest of it made Riverdale seem well written.
