Me too. If she's able to come back for the finale or a really interesting alternate Felicity or whatever, then great. If not as long as the preserve the ending I'm happy. I don't think they're changing that future, that's the kids story to tell and I don't think I Oliver's dead. I can't see them swerving the bittersweet/happy ending after all that effort,( although you never know after HIMYM and comics!) And we now have even more proof that that was basically the series finale of Arrow. if they wanted they could even do the mirror of that came from Oliver's POV with him smiling seeing her arrive. If they do change the future to a happier one then there are ways of doing it without EBR having to be there if she really is 100% done. of course this relies heavily on them not undoing the perfect ending for drama in the last 10, but they have a lot already going on.

Social Media and Behind the Scenes: AKA Everything Else Not "News and Media"
Featherhat replied to Zalyn's topic in Arrow
And it doesn't really matter in SA's case but for many CW actors cons can pull in what they make in an episode. Even with him that's a lot of extra cash for a weekend's work and will be there probably in 10 years time when everyone else has forgotten the show. -
Spoilers & Speculation: Running Hot & Cold

They know they have an awesome character yet with Zari who has only been on the show 2 seasons and doesn't really have a timelimit, why the need to change her? Nate sure as hell isn't. Take Ashe will probably handle it very well and I'll like nu!Zari because of het, but I adored the old one and she got loads of great reviews. Sigh. She sure as hell doesn't need to prove herself worthy of anyone let alone Nate. I really don't get why he needs two romances which have followed the exact same patterns two team mates. Nora and Constantine should definitely stay away from each other, nothing good could come of that. -
The Starling City Times: News and Media about Arrow

Depends who's writing I think.Whether you think Oliver is Felicity is pretty clearly going to meet him (forever), that's in the text of the scene. She's not just randomly hanging around with the Monitor. then again I disagree that the Mark of Four is a big important unanswered question as well. -
I think she will be back but they maybe haven't locked down the number or status. They also might be waiting to reveal news at SDCC.
-
The Monitor eating popcorn sounds about right. Got to make lemonade out of his quest right? Not surprising that COIE will be the premiere given the mid season schedule and it drives them an excuse to jiggle more things. but seriously we better have awesome Zari back right away as a regular. Unless TA wanted out they'd be insane not to. It still frustrates me that they went to the trouble of keeping Maisie for Charlie to do FA whilst there was tons of Mona. Not to mention swapping a popular female character for her brother.

Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread
Featherhat replied to quarks's topic in Arrow
I think it's a bit like having Felicity claim to Will that she loved is Dad from the second she met him. Not strictly true but in retrospect it was some of the most significant moments of her life, if not THE most significant. Like Oliver realising that's the moment when his facade really cracked for the first time. It then started cracking all over the place with Dig in the same ep. I guess MG might be being his version of diplomatic. "Oh yea we knew in S1, that's why we moved up the Lauriver sex and killed Tommy" plus also admitting they messed up from the getgo. They also might not have been 100% sure until S2 that Felicity really was going to be the big one and that Laurel couldn't be salvaged as LI. Though I certainly hope they knew when they had the Sara relationship planned. I do think it's somewhat amusing that they never even gave it a shot during/after "Rise of InstaCanary" which is what a lot of people were predicting. Instead it's 100% about Olicity, which is when the FeFe hate started. -
EBR's non Arrow roles have thus far been about what she could film in the hiatus and probably doing something completely different that personally interests her and right now she's probably enjoying not having to plan around that. She probably doesn't have the name to get big studio roles but I also agree that they probably don't interest her as much as the quirkier projects and she's probably not badly off from Arrow so she does have more choices than some. I think for quite a few Arrowverse actors this is the most high profile role they'll have either t though choice or the toughness of the industry. I wouldn't be surprised if she does pop up in a regular role on TV in the next few years though along with plays and indies.

I think I that's exactly how it's going to play out ( watch us all be wrong). I think SA would have appeared in the crossover anyway just we wouldn't see him recruiting, the re fall of Star City and the mini me legacies like Legends will just turn up off season. If EBR had stayed on we'd have got the "going to join him in pocket universe scene or wherever he is" scene later or they'd have gone together, given that they went out of their way to give them a bittersweet but hopeful ending anyway and what is essentially a decent finale, which a something of a miracle so hopefully it doesn't preceed a scrappy 10 ep miniseries. Once Elseworlds was planned out Arrow was locked in, even if it went 3 more seasons without SA. Whether it should have been or not is a different matter but they wanted the big finale and Oliver sacrificing home to save whole Arrowverse is fitting even if I'd much rather have something else separate. True, if the newspaper is about COIE they'll do something else for the eventual Flash finale, though I can see "appears to make the big sacrifice but turns out alive" happening in a different way since they reuse plots all the time. I am salty about them mixing all this up malarkey but I can't say Arrow wouldn't have pull the big sacrifice or presumed dead like The Dark Knight Rises anyway, that's been predicted long before Elseworlds/COIE.

Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread
Featherhat replied to quarks's topic in Arrow
Just reading this post from 2014. Quite a lot of that came true and Mia might well end up with Connor as a love interest despite Baby Sara (sob) being in existence at the time, though sadly he won't be there to lead her down the aisle. Interestibg to procrastinate by reading people's thoughts about the beginning of their S2/S3 journey. -
Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread

That break up right after she got kidnapped will never not be funny. "It's not you it's me and the scriptwriters have told me I'm getting back together with Felicity, so have a nice life, even though a few eps ago I insisted you were really awesome even though you were tying to out me as a vigilante and destroy my sister. There's the door. " The writers were somewhat trying to pretend there was no such thing as Olicity until they wanted to go back to it again so it was the season of random shipstalls. With Susan I go with loneliness, sexual frustration, determination to move on because his ex had and that stung and she was there being a leggy brunette with attitude (one of his previous defaults) and making it clear she was "interested" supposedly beyond her story and he walked into it and then got very defensive about his choices. I mean Carly Pope is very attractive but there must have been beautiful, interesting women willing to date him/the mayor or be a mutually beneficial booty call who weren't trying to bring down his administration and out him as GA. Garcia was one that came to mind for me too and fits in with the "keep Felicity in her box and freak out if she comes out of it mentality. " -

I think Oliver is a gentle person at heart in many ways but unable to show it to most people. It's always really good acting with SA when he immediately slips in to that more when he spots Felicity/EBR. Dynamics change in different circumstances, but I do like that Olicity seen to enjoy her on top during sex quite a bit despite his control issues elsewhere. -

Sure but she was a good character to watch on the show. -
I keep kidding myself that I'm not going to watch this but I'm lying, even though the trailers don't particularly excite me.

Oh trust me, I've been wondering that before the finale. It would have been a shame because of the awesome chem. I love other characters and other parts of Arrow but that would have been the straw that broke the camel's back. I already get annoyed in the lead up to Moira's death eps. Sigh. Recently I keep wondering what would have happened to Felicity if she had never become the LI. Just the funny tech girl with the unrequited crush with the occasional BF like the cop or a Barry type? Allows to grow, because she (and obviously Dig) had no problems telling Oliver when they disagreed with him long before but it's one of the complaints I see about her. I would also out of curiosity like to know the original 3-5 season outline for the Oliver-Laurel-Tommy plan. -

Wow oops. That's what happens when there's iffy photoshop and I'm on my phone. But that begs the question why is Liverpool gazing at his Mum like that? -

@Mellowyellow Wow You Weren't Kidding. 😂 is that both dead Laurel and Siren?! Oliver wouldn't just run away to Liam Yu, he'd flag down Sara with the Waverider. But each to their own when that's all you have for your ship I guess. -
Yeah difficult to speculate on exactly what they are/were but I'd like to see them, even if only posted as deleted scenes. They could also be useful as flashbacks as Oliver goes about with The Monitor if they aren't for 810.
-
In Elseworlds Barry and Kara repeatedly brought up Oliver's mistakes and character flaws, they even had Lois get in only within minutes of meeting him. And we were supposed to agree with them I think. In return Oliver makes this deal because Barry and Kara are super awesome whitehats who are worth more than he is and we're not supposed to really disagree with that considering how many characters point it out. Whilst it's a brave, self sacrificing edit, it wasn't really "look how amazing he is" edit. I've never felt Arrow gets favoured in crossovers, quite the opposite but of course YMMV. That might be different this time around but Arrow is ending and the other shows aren't so that's why. Other characters will have further chances to do that when Oliver won't even be mentioned next year. Personally I'd much rather he had the opportunity to relax and watch his family grow up, he deserves it.
-
I guess it fizzled outline a lot of things out in to teasing harbour what happened between the ffs and 2018/19. It never made sense that Oliver was all " let's get a team tattoo" anyway it's not like he or Dig and Felicity need it for each other. It's more appropriate if it's just Dinah' random thing. Though if it was Curtis I could see it again being part of the desperately wanting to be part of the cool kids "lol guys let's get a TATTOO of all that!" Thing he has.

Good call. Re a mini me spin off BS was talking about it in April so it doesn't sound completely dead in the water yet. https://tvline.com/2019/04/05/lucifer-season-4-spoilers-chloe-learns-lucifer-secret/ Did SA bail on the upfronts, didn't realise he was supposed to be there. With EBR it just sounds standard to me, full of praise but not coming from a fan pov but selling ad time for next season. And they probably wouldn't say anything about a pre filmed but for the crossover/finale anyway. I wouldn't mind if there was a scene of her post "death" since it isn't any such thing imho but it isn't necessary with what we already have, especially if they do a similar scene from Oliver's pov. I enjoyed Felicity X so I wouldn't mind an alternate popping up as well.
-
Well I think the flash forward stuff will probably stick but that the "death" is like he other times when he's been presumed dead and they put the grave up because he might as well be for most people. It might also depend on how likely they think a Legacy spin off is when seriously getting the details finalised, if they haven't done so already.
-
On the Laurel part? Because we know she's coming back next season and it's a different way to use her and something for KC. Note I not saying there will be an alt. LL/OQ romance. They could also use alternate Diggles (John Stewart etc) Dinahs and Renes........ I think it's possible Siren will continue to "redeem" herself by participating in COIE, There doesn't have to be a lot of interaction between her and Oliver since they have barely done so since she re joined but I wouldn't say there's no chance.
-
I could see an alternate Felicity coming back or flashbacks, or maybe even during the crossover. If they haven't already got something for the reunion in the finale I hope she's able to film something but If not then Oliver's POV on seeing her with maybe a replay of her going with the Monitor would work. I could see Oliver running in to alternate Laurels ( possibly even where they were "happy" together ala the100th) and almost certainly a Tommy and maybe his parents and any other former guest stars that are available. Whilst he doesn't need to really recruit Siren doesn't mean they won't do something with them on E2 I suppose.
