  1. I'm thoroughly enjoying this so far. And I agree with the John Legend has the vocal chops, but not the acting chops. Still, it's working for me. The productions is gorgeous to look at.
  2. And there's Norm Lewis - great singer, really good actor. Interesting hair/makeup for him. He almost looks like Klingon.

We were winning. Then we weren't. There was free baseball, but it wasn't making me happy because we were winning, then we weren't. Then... I love Adam. Pre-pie: Post-pie: It turned out to be a pretty good day.

I'm ready! The weather is even supposed to cooperate tomorrow - around 70 and not raining!! Can't wait!
  5. I'm about to buy my tickets for Dave. You didn't mention Beetlejuice, The Musical at the National next fall. I'm thinking I will not be renewing my subscription unless there's something else in the series I must see. Because Beetlejuice isn't it.

I never root for Duke, but today I was hoping they would win. So it's probably my fault. Sorry.
  7. The only thing I remember about food in my elementary school was milk was a penny. I think chocolate milk was 2 cents. I'm pretty sure I brought my lunch from home most days, but my memory is really hazy. I don't remember anything about food in junior high or high school. However, in an example of good timing (or something), the WaPost has pictures of local elementary school district lunches in the Post Magazine this weekend. I hope this link works... https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/magazine/food-for-thought-photos-of-elementary-school-lunches-around-the-dc-region/2018/03/20/d654ce4e-2882-11e8-bc72-077aa4dab9ef_gallery.html?utm_term=.387894c2fef4
  8. I was just informed of this yesterday by Mr ebk and I now feel dumb that I didn't realize it. I was navigating a couple days ago with Google Maps and it said the exit was right past the Arby's. We never saw the Arby's, but it was fine since the exit was well signed. Yesterday we took the same route and I saw the Arby's and mentioned it was weird that Google would pick that as a marker since it's back from the road and he told me they probably paid for it. Duh!
  9. I feel I must defend Ben Jones's good (?) name and say that Congressman Cooter is a Democrat. It does pain me though that he has come out in favor of the Confederate flag being used on that car that they used in the show he was in that I never watched.

There! They're still ginormous, but not actual files. The game still sucked.
  11. I wanted to love Raging Bitch because the name is great. The beer is...okay. I do love their Bloodline. I changed my mind about citrus flavored beers.

Greetings from Spring Training - where it is not snowing! It's not very warm, but it's not snowing, so that's something. Especially since we almost didn't get here - we sat on the plane for an hour and a half waiting to de-ice. I was nervous, but we got out!! And then, we went to a game. The less said about that game, the better. However, I will share a pic (maybe more if they're not too big) for you Yankee fans. Hey, the Os were in it until the end. I know - it's the end that counts... It seems I take ginormous pictures that are too big for this website. So until I figure out how to resize them, you will have to be content with this one. The stadium looks better than it did a few years ago when we were there, so that's good.
  13. I got that email and totally forgot to load it to the card - damn...
  14. Agree @UYI. I'm very interested. I especially love Rhiannon Giddens was an thrilled to see her on the list!
  15. Sammy Williams, Paul in the OBC of A Chorus Line, has died. ACL was the 3rd show I saw on my first trip to NY way back in the Stone Age - Chicago, The Wiz, then A Chorus Line. I bought a ticket on the street in front of the theatre (since you couldn't get one in advance to save your life in 1976...ish). I sat in the last row of the balcony for $8. It was a stunning evening. http://www.playbill.com/article/original-a-chorus-line-star-sammy-j-williams-dies-at-69
  16. Loved this show! I know The Californians isn't everyone's cup o' tea, but I've always enjoyed it, and tonight was no exception. Update was great because, let's face it, Stefon is perfect. And I love the John Mulaney played a role on camera. (Saw him at the Letterman Mark Twain awards and he was fabulous!). I loved the game show and was actually sorry we didn't see who won :-). Even like Arcade Fire, although the second number came on a little abruptly. The only sketch that didn't quite fall for me was the aliens at the lodge. Didn't hate it, but...eh. Does anyone know who the person Bill called up on stage during the goodnights was (wearing a cap)?
  17. It was They obviously couldn't pay Seth enough to show up...
  18. I had to wear them to a cousin's wedding last week and as I was putting them on, I was never so glad that I can wear jeans to work now. I don't know how I did it all those years ago. I was also really happy that I got a couple of great party dresses from Amazon for $30 each. I hardly have to dress up anymore, so I don't want to spend lots of money on dresses. These are cute, and if something happens to them (or I grow out of them, but that's a whole other issue), I won't be sad that I wasted cash.

It makes me laugh that both of the local food items involve seafood, so I can't eat them anyway. I'm sure I could find enough to eat, though, for my $25 plus the beer addition. And I'm sure I could eat it all in 2 hours. I'm a pro...

FoodFest anyone?? I got this email and was so hoping it would be celebrated in every ballpark on that day. Alas, it's in NY, which is not a bad thing, it's just that I won't be there that weekend... https://www.mlb.com/cut4/mlb-foodfest-will-bring-all-of-the-majors-wildest-ballpark-concoctions-under-one-roof/c-268512004

I loooove Ken Singleton!! Always known here as "Ken Singleton - such a nice guy!!" Didn't get to listen to him call games, but I'll always have fond memories of his playing days here. And nice to know he still lives around here. Hope he's got fun stuff lined up for retirement!
