The Annual Golden Globes - General Discussion
ebk57 replied to sdpfeiffy's topic in The Golden Globe Awards
I didn't see it in NY on purpose, but I somehow feel like I should watch it since it's on the TV and it's free (well, because we already pay Netflix). But I can't make myself do it. It just looks dreadful. And I love musicals. -

Trying to play her off. Fantastic! -
My baseball boyfriend wants to come home! I hope this happens someday.

I have to like this post, not because I'll be watching much of the YES Network this season (at least I hope I won't be...), but because THERE'S BASEBALL ON!!!!!
-
Hey folks - there's a live baseball game on my TV now!!! Yeah, it's the Yankees, but it's a live game!

I thought the bird almost stole the sketch.

She was great. I also loved Keenan/Lavar tonight. Actually, Update, on the whole, was pretty funny.

I feel like the "old" writers came back. Sigh...

We had that on to fill time Saturday evening before the late local news and SNL. We ended up watching the whole thing, skipping the news and catching SNL on the DVR. Thought it was excellent and quite informative.

At least he got to spend time not being with Ted Cruz (I think that was a Colbert line... )

LSSC: Season Six Episode Talk

Just when I thought I could not love Jon more, I love him more (That's from the WaPo) This one is the NYT - with more pictures! -
Me either, yet I enjoyed it immensely.. The whole thing ended like an episode of Perry Mason (original) with the big courtroom confession. I had no idea why, but I was entertained.

Thoroughly enjoyed the show tonight. It actually made me laugh. And it was very, very pretty...
-
Ironic (?) that the first sketch that didn't work for me was the Bridgerton sketch. Otherwise, the show has been stellar.
-
"Deeply stupid, yet strangely compelling" Sums it all up really well...
-
I think he got taken in by a piece in the NYT (?) about Queen Charlotte being mixed race and thought the show would concentrate on that. Ah well... 🙂

We only got 4 episodes in before we bailed. The only reason we watched at all is because Mr. ebk thought it was more about history than a Shondaland romance (bless his heart). But during those 4 episodes, I can honestly say that Mr. Page is very, very pretty. Even if the show tonight sucks, it will be very, very pretty.

I really just want to be able to go to some games this season. I think that's the thing I missed most last year. Well, that and eating out and going to the theatre and...

I'm so looking forward to this season! Sigh..........................

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
ebk57 replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
Please don't beat yourself up over that. It's just stuff. As the bolded says, you don't even know what was actually there, so don't be sad about it. My sister and I were tasked with clearing out dad's storage unit and we got to the point where we were just throwing stuff out even though we knew it may have some "value". We still laugh about it since it would just be more clutter in the house now and we don't even remember what it was. I hope your memories of your dad are lovely and will comfort you as the years go on. The stuff won't (at least for us - I realize others have different opinions, but I hope you don't let it make you cry). -
Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads

From Wiki: Fieri's first New York City restaurant, Guy's American Kitchen and Bar, opened in 2012 to brutal New York Times coverage by Pete Wells that Larry Olmsted of Forbes called "the most scathing review in the history of the New York Times", and "likely the most widely read restaurant review ever." Fieri, for his part, accused Wells, the nation's highest profile reviewer, of using Fieri's fame as a platform for advancing his own prestige.[17][18] The restaurant's location in the highly trafficked Times Square enabled it to appear on Restaurant Business's list of the top 100 independent restaurants as ranked by sales for four years in a row. It closed at the end of 2017.[19] "Best" restaurant review I've ever read! 🙂 The actual NYT review -

I loved Pelotaunt. And found Weed Gummies oddly mesmerizing. There were a few times I laughed, but I couldn't tell you exactly at what. I thought Regina King was wonderful. Honestly, they need new writers. -

Was that before or after Lauren as the dating expert? After that was Beck as drunk Tom Brady. You didn't miss anything.
