  1. That schedule kind of sucks. I have to wait a full hour between My Hero and Dragon Ball Super (which I'm kind of loosing interest in anyhow). The I have a half hour of downtime until JoJo (I don't watch AoT) and then another half hour between JoJo and HxH (seriously, why bother moving Black Clover up a time slot, it didn't seem to do well the last time it had an earlier time slot). I've never seen any Naruto, but I might check out Boruto (aka Naruto's Son, child of Boruto's Dad) as it was recomended by a YT I like (Gigguk) but with this much down time it'll have to hook me within the first few episodes (and there's no way I'm bothering getting into Shippuden at this late stage).
  2. So I was watching Sesame Street with my little boy and Bill Irwin (Carey) plays Mr. Noodle.
  3. I really liked this episode. It's kind of nice for Rusty to get a win for once. He might not have been a great dad but he cared enough and that shined through here. The Peril Parnership was first mentioned in season 2 when Dr Orpheus was getting an arch. It was mentioned in the intro video. It showed how the Guild had the highest share of villains and the PP having the least. See http://venturebrothers.wikia.com/wiki/File:Guild3.jpg Also, they were mentioned in the Zeus episode, Tiger Shark was their representative for the meeting of the 5 guilds.
  4. I have no idea why the blurb says that, he just goes to collage and is staying in the dorms. The episode makes no mention of "sleep away college".
  5. That was a pretty boring episode. Although tomorrow starts the last arc of the series (55 episodes) so hopefully things will start to pick up again.
  6. I liked this new JoJo. While I wasn't a fan of last season's JoJo, I think he works better here as the straight man to Josuke's very weird guy. And Josuke's stand is pretty neat. I like that it can heal things as well, it's not just for fighting.
  7. I also just watched this (on Starz) and it was decent. It was relatively fun, the plot moved pretty quickly and the in game acting was fun. That said, a lot of the plot was pretty predictable (especially the ending if you watched the original movie) and it kind of got boring towards the end. Overall it wasn't a waste of the time but I'm glad I didn't bother to watch it in theaters.
  8. I am kind of confused by Lucy's plan. So she put a tracker on the elevator and then followed it somewhat but set it up so most likely only Johnny would be able to reactivate her. But since Johnny was on the elevator, he'd both have to know that Lucy followed and also have to escape the elevator and find her. It just doesn't make sense to me. That said, I did like the episode although Hullen Johnny is already starting to get old.
  9. The movie division and the tv division are entirely separate entities (and separate parts of Disney, tv is part of Marvel whereas movies answer only to the head of Disney). The movies acknoledging the tv shows is very unlikely to happen especially as the movie studio hates the head of Marvel, Perlmutter (who runs the tv division). Perlmutter (besides being human garbage) was the one pushing for Inhumans and also preventing the Captain Marvel movie. Feige leveraged the movie divisions success to get out from under Pearlmutter. As such, it seems unlikely Feige would want anything to do with the TV division. That's actually why early AoS actually tied in (to some degree) especially as the Whedons were involved on both sides.
  10. So I finally got around to watching this on HBO and I liked it. I have no experience with any of Christie's novels nor have I seen any other adaptations of this story (just the vague knowledge of a looked door train mystery). Taken as just another movie I thought it was pretty good. It had a nice pace to it, the acting was good (including Depp's which was a surprise) and the visuals were pretty good too. My only real gripe was the chase scene on the bridge seemed kind of tacked on and a few of the characters (the sister and her husband?) seemed to come out of nowhere. The story was good too but it seems they mostly followed Christie's novel so I can;t give them too much credit there. Overall I really liked it
  11. God I love Red Death. He's become my favorite side character now (sorry Shore Leave) so I hope they don't kill him off.
  12. So I saw the movie and it was okay. Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson were great together but the plot itself was silly but not in a good way (way to serious for such a silly movie). So much public destruction but no real response to it. I also did not care for the "will they make it to the court on time" when hey, they're going through security maybe someone should let the judge know (and it didn't really have to be a hard deadline any how, she's the judge). Selma Hayek was also wasted in this. Her scenes were great but so few. From the name of the sequel it sounds like she might be more involved which would be great. So overall I actually liked the movie so I hope they manage to improve on these issues for the sequel.
  13. I just saw this on HBO as well and I did not care for it. I saw the first movie last year and while it was rough in spots it was an okay movie. This though, not so much. There's so little weight to the plot. In the first one Deckard is tracking down replicant terrorists and the fight at the end was pretty good (it alos presented the bad guys as somewhat relatable). Here the plot is figuring what happened to a baby, significantly lower stakes. Plus for such a simple plot it takes forever. I had no emotional connection to any of the characters, the fight scenes were just poorly done and the visuals were lacking as well. Outside of LA everywhere has fog (or its equivalent) obscuring most of the visuals. Las Vegas could have been interesting but we see so little of it besides little snapshot. LA meanwhile looks decent but most of that was cribbed from the first movie and honestly didn't look as good. The bad girl was way too over the top. I would think there would have been repercussions for obviously killing cops in their own precinct but no. Jared Leto's character was okay but since the stakes were so low he didn't present much of a threat (and was barely in the movie). The stuff with the prostitute and the underground were completely pointless. It's funny, you'd think they'd have been okay if Leto did learn how to make replicants that reproduced but they don't even bother dealing with that. Also, what was the deal with the AI? She seemed to be factory installed so it's kind of silly that they just have a tendency to develop crushes on their users. It would have been better if it was made clear that Gosling had tinkered with his. Either way I did not care about their relationship (and seemingly neither did he, as there was no real followup for her "dying"). This definitely felt like the wrong movie for the director. The Arrival was also a slow movie but it was about learning an alien language so it made sense to be slow. This on the other hand was more of an action movie without any good action (action scenes does not appear to be his forte) or a detective movie with little in the way of detecting. Either way those type of movies need to move at a relatively brisk pace which this did not. I could go on but suffice it to say I did not like this movie. I might have liked it if it moved quicker but as is, not so much.
  14. So we get a half recap and half intro to the sports festival arc (which is my favorite arc). The first episode of next season is also a recap. I don't know how long the breaks are between seasons but it seems kind of silly to do a recap. Also I was wrong about the end credits, the sequence I really liked is apparently in the second half of this season.
  15. Adult Swim appears to be putting the episodes up a couple days early on the app. Just watched episode 2 which was awesome.
  16. Snipe (the gun guy) and Ectoplasm (the guy who creates ghost dups) along with Nezu (the talking animal) are some of my favorites. It looks like next week starts season 2. This is probably my favorite arc of the series so far. Also season 2 has one of the best ending sequence. ETA: So we see the police showing up in the episode. That seems to be one of the areas that people who's quirks aren't very useful (but still want to protect the city) would go,
  17. I barely watched the last two episodes. They were pretty boring. Its funny because I did like the episodes between the Friza arc and the Future Trunks arc (there is technically no filler for this show as it isn't actually a manga adaptation, the manga and the show are separate but concurrent media). That said I kind of liked the baseball episode since it really reminded me of the old X-men comics where they'd play no-powers baseball and then craziness ensues. The Hit-Goku episodes were relatively entertaining as well. Hopefully next week will be better.
  18. I watched about the first 10 min of Art Prison. It was already getting stale for me by that point. I was hoping to like it as I am a fan of Randall Park.
  19. The commercials make this look ridiculously interesting. Plus I'm a sucker for a good 70's throwback. Can't wait to check it out.
  20. I believe Dragoon had a heart attack and Phantom Limb didn't actually want them dead.
  21. They are apparently showing the first episode tonight, after Cloak & Dagger.
  22. I have no idea why Fox would make an X-Men rip off when they have actual access to the X-Men. That said, it looks decent, like one of those movies I'll come across channel surfing and end up watching the rest. ETA: Apparently its based on a book series with so far 6 books.
  23. I wonder what time slots AoT and Boruto are getting. Pop Team Epic doesn't appear to be over until September, so it would have to be moved for AoT to take over. But Boruto could take its spot since it appears to be right after Pop Team Epic would end. Also AoT is supposed to be 24 episodes, so it also couldn't take over for FLCL (unless the move time slots as well). They could hiatus My Hero since we're close to the end of the first season (so the timing would work), but that would be kind of silly as season 2 has long been dubbed. JoJo is also almost at its season end so maybe it'll take over before we go into the next season. I just wish they'd move Hunter x Hunter earlier. I'm glad they move it to 1am but it'd be nicer if it swapped time slots with say Pop Team Epic.
  24. So this week we get Morel vs Cheetu. Cheetu is an idiot and we get a great example of how the show prioritizes being smarter, not stronger. Also, apparently the Fish Dart guy was Little Kuriboh of Yugioh Abridged (his wife is seemingly going to be voicing one of the characters from FLCL season 3).
  25. I do appreciate that Gunn straight up apologized for them, he didn't really try to defend what he said and took responsibility for them. That said, getting Waititi for vol 3 would be amazing. I'm not sure we're getting any more Thor, so I really want him to get more Marvel work (Reed at least will probably be getting another Antman/Wasp movie). I think Waititi would be a good choice for Fantastic Four as well.
