  1. I was completely right. I kept waiting for people to start blinking out and it never came. It made the actual ending (which otherwise was pretty good) not hold as much weight. I'm getting the impression that the showrunners were just basing the tie in on what we knew from the trailer. It seems like they had little idea what actually happens during the movie.
  2. There's 4 more episodes. 1 more of the Buu saga and the rest are an epilogue.
  3. I was surprised how slow the first episode of My Hero was. Looking it up, next episode kind of picks up and episode 4 is where it really gets going (and it isn't until episode 5 when we actually get to the school setting which kind of is a lot of episodes). I also had a few friends who bounced off season 1 but got hooked on season 2, so it might be worth checking back in later. I watched the show a good couple episodes at a time (and Funimation still has them up if anyone wanted to skip ahead with this English dub) which did alleviate the slowness at the start. But I completely understand, it might not be for everyone.
  4. My understanding is that the ammo itself is some sort of special "smart" ammo that acts like a real bullet on hosts and doesn't on humans but now everyone registers as fair game. It makes little sense but is a fantastic element that doesn't really bother me all things considered.
  5. I think tieing in as closely to Infinity Wars was a huge mistake. If they had been like "Thanos is on his way you need think fast" that would be one thing. They could have easily end the season on their own terms (and set up a decent series finale) and figure things out for the next season if they get one (which seems unlikely). But instead, by setting the last episode around the beginning of the movie it means they will quickly have to actually tie into what happens in the movie. Now they can either have the ramifications of the movie play out at the end of the season which would completely undercut this arc or they can save it for next season (again if there is one) which seems like a cop out. The other big issue is that (assuming there is a next season), if the ramifications occur then that will be the status quo for damn near the entire run of that season (and again each additional season is less and less likely) which is not something I'm very interested in. I'm hoping that the showrunners know what's going to happen in the next movie but the film and tv divisions are pretty separate for a reason so its possible they don't. Either way, if say Avengers 4 occurs right after Infinity War then the show cannot reflect that as to do so would spoil a decent part of the movie the year before it even comes out. So to avoid doing so, next season would have to deal with what happens for almost the entire season even if that makes no sense after watching Avengers 4. As I said, I think tieing in this closely was a really bad call. There's a very good chance that there will be no more episodes after this season. I'd hope that they'd give us a good series finale on the chance that they don't get renewed (although if they know they're getting another season then that's not as necessary) but expectation of following this tie in to its natural conclusion would probably preclude that. The show hasn't really tied into the movies this closely in a long time and I think doing so now was a big mistake.
  6. That was really dark. I'm curious to see where they go with a second season. I found the season overall to be pretty good but it did have a bunch of flaws. The humor didn't really work for me (same with Tribor as a character) for the most part either. But the plot itself was pretty good and they did a great job with the serious stuff.
  7. That was a crazy episode. I'm glad the next episode will deal with the ramifications.
  8. So I saw a kind of behind the scenes while waiting for Infinity War to start up. It has Donald Glover showing "you" around the Millenium Falcon. Honestly, I'm still kind of pissed that they didn't just make a Lando movie. Glover was a perfect pick and honestly he's more interesting. I just hope he gets a lot of screen time.
  9. I saw the trailer during Infinity War and I honestly didn't care for it. The jokes (like the aforementioned "Your so dark") seemed kind of forced which is something I don't recall the first movie's jokes being. That said I do like Peter as a gag that seems to continually pay off.
  10. I think you got it exactly right. Also Sony is trying to figure out if they want to renew their Spiderman deal with Disney or not. If Venom does well, then Spiderman is probably not coming back to the MCU after Avengers 4 (which is when the deal runs out) or at the very least Sony will try and make Disney pay more. If it flops though, I think we're going to see more MCU Spiderman (like Homecoming 3 which at the moment is a non-MCU sequel with Tom Holland as Spiderman).
  11. You might be right. The timing seems suspect but it is possible they had the idea (or at least some form of what we eventually got) before.
  12. It wouldn't surprise me. From what I remember Civil War wasn't even on the slate until WB tried to push BvS to the same date as Captain America 3: The Serpent Society.
  13. I love that they came up with a graphic for Derpump, the van who rules. I hope we see more.
  14. Not one of the better episodes, although it did have some funny moments. I really liked Rodger, Hailey and Jeff's waterslide stuff (but it just kind of petered out quickly). The purity stuff was good for a few laughs but I think the story ran too long.
  15. Sorry, coming up with titles is not really my forte.
  16. Having seen both seasons of My Hero Academia, it's really good. It's nothing ground breaking but what it does, it does really well. It's all of the good stuff of a Shonen series (as opposed to Black Clover which I hear takes most of the worst from the genre). Season 2 has one of my favorite tournament arcs. Also while most of the other students seem like seat fillers at first, the show does a good job of giving each at least some time to shine. And it seems like the series does want to flesh them out as the series goes on. The other nice thing about the show is that it's not about escalating power levels like in Dragon Ball. Instead its all about out thinking the opponent i.e. creative uses of power, playing to the opponent's weaknesses, etc which is nice. So the main "power up" is getting more experience both as a hero and with one's powers. And this allows for the heroes to sometimes fail or nearly fail which again is a nice change of pace.
  17. Damn, that's a good get. Not surprised by having all three seasons as season three is currently being dubbed. They might even get season 4 by the time they get there. ETA: Here's the new schedule. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-04-19/my-hero-academia-to-air-on-toonami/.130595 Thankfully HunterXHunter is back to 1am, Black Clover got shunted to 1:30. The 10:30-1am block is really solid (although I've recently watched FLCL and My Hero so I may not re-watch).
  18. I was wondering the same along with the sensory deprivation chamber for enhancing abilities. I really hope they are Fringe homages. As for the episode, I really love this show. It's trippy like a show about the mind should be and the cinematography is amazing as always.
  19. I did like where the show went with the "bear is sticky with honey" and at least the Hooli employees has a similar idea. As for the signature, I have to imagine that everyone has already realized it looks like a penis. They're just too afraid to tell Gavin.
  20. I found this episode to be pretty boring. Not a fan of Polnareff. Also, I feel like they should have had this closing song (Last Train Home) for the previous season and "Walk like an Egyptian" for this season since last season they were traveling and now they are in Egypt.
  21. That was not a good episode. And I actually liked the previous episodes this season. I had really hoped that Gavin's "the bear is sticky with honey" was referring to a real bear that needed cleaning.
  22. Another great episode. Love how Mickey get all blinky when she gets angry. As for renewal, if its between the Mick and LA-Vegas, I think The Mick has this one. It being an older show helps since its that closer to syndication (although that might not matter as much due to the Disney merger but Fox is supposed to be ignoring that, business dealing wise, until its finalized). Shows tend to loose viewers as they go on so the fact that La-Vegas is getting such low numbers as a new show is significantly more troubling for the network.
  23. Man was that good. The opening scene made me wonder, is the trapped Lenny some part of David that's in Farouk or perhaps her own entity now? The cinematography in the show is amazing as always and for whatever reason I just loved the food conveyor but they're boats. Also the announcement about repetition that then repeats was great,
  24. I honestly didn't care for it. Not weird enough.
