  1. A lot of people have near death experiences and don't end up seeing ghosts. Perhaps there's a confluence of conditions that have to happen. Maybe genetics are involved. I'm fine with it.
  2. Wow the actress playing Sam does a really good Thor impersonation.
  3. If pregnancy is dangerous right now, shouldn't Shaun and Lea have been using birth control? If they were, I would have expected an explicit line of dialogue to point it out, since that would make them look responsible rather than reckless. I suppose it could still be coming in the next episode when hopefully someone asks them about it. (I say that because no one respects others' privacy at this hospital.) Re: Lim's hesitation to have the surgery due to her personal life. It would be interesting if that's because she's not actually worried her new boyfriend (really? a proposal after a few weeks?!) would resent her for regaining her mobility. Instead, she subconsciously realizes that she would not want to be with him anymore, that she'd consider a disabled partner to be a hindrance to her active lifestyle. Think how that would blow up the weird friendship with the amputee resident. (Why can't I remember her name? Asher is the only one I can remember, though admittedly only his first name.)
  4. Ha, I love Brooke. Now there's a Canadian who could win vs the world.
  5. Too bad Icesis was feeling bad enough to stop, but glad she's decided to take care of herself. I saw her winning this though, so there's a spanner in the works now. I wonder if the clear unfairness last week played into at all, perhaps she was seeing the puppet strings this time out. Of the queens that are left: I just don't see Vanity winning this As much as I love Rita, I don't see her being the best, but if they want to do what they did with UK and have a home girl win, she's the only one left now, so I guess we'll see Victoria is very good, but... I think R'ajah is the best out of these 5 I don't detest Silky as much as I used to, but she just doesn't have the polish that the top queens have -- that being said, I have developed a deep concern that Icesis' departure has ruined TPTB's original plans and so they're just going to hand the win to Silky -- since she couldn't win in the US, they're going to let her win here -- as a Canadian that would make me very sad
  6. My least favourite characters. Ha yeah that seems unrealistic. I don't know anyone who has that many friends falling for them, regardless of identity or sexuality. Eight episodes that come out two at a time. Over in 4 weeks. :(
  7. Welp, so much for that. Hope violently dashed. Either the judges had a collective stroke, or we did. Maybe it's because I don't know fashion, but that outfit Silky made was not one of the top ones to me. I will admit she won the lipsync though. I'm going to miss Anita's smile. I've said before that she always tries so hard to be cheerful in spite of being at the bottom of everyone's list, and I admire that. Then again, she has the same air of every tragic character who smiles and says they're fine, then drives full speed into a brick wall. And nobody saw it coming. I hope she'll be alright.
  8. It would be better if that were the story developing, but I'm wondering if they're just trying to create another Clare.
  9. De'Bronski gave the most powerful first-time drag performance I have ever seen. I cried. If I were producing this show, the Jackson episode would be the finale.
  10. Well to that point, I'm looking forward to what happens between Ryan, Charles and Karen.
  11. I can't remember exactly now, but I thought she ran into something at full speed. This being Toronto, it was probably a vehicle illegally parked in a bike lane.
  12. Unlike other seasons, AIDS in the 80s was not just an urban legend, though it may seem mythic to later generations. I don't think Murphy could have conceived of anything more horrifying than what really happened. In that respect, this really was a horror story. If you take away words and just have emotions left, this last episode must have been what it felt like to be a gay man in NYC in the 80s. NYC takes its place with Asylum and Hotel as one of my favourites.
  13. I cried. It was eerily similar to what happened with me and my father last month, even down to some of the dialogue. I think this episode was part poetry.
  14. Yeah I'm Canadian, but I can't help loving Anita. She's so relentlessly cheerful. She even smiles when she cries. I adore her. In other words, sorry Stephanie, but I'm glad it worked out like it did.
  15. Wait, I thought she turned out to be a grown up <insert name of the bad guy's daughter here because I never remember it> Love him.
  16. Well, unlike seasons with queens named Silky or Kandy, all 4 deserved to be in the finale, however that was the right top 2, IMO. I can't deny Danny's talent but I would have preferred the winner to be Cheddar.
  17. Was she though? She never once seemed like it to me. Her whole vibe seemed like, "I wish I'd never come." Now this is the version of Glassman that doesn't piss me off. He's Shaun's father figure (as Lea pointed out), Shaun came to him for advice and instead of lecturing Shaun on how he needs to figure it out for himself, he gave some. Like any father figure would for his protege at any time in his life, ffs. Let's hope emo-Glassman never returns.
  18. I loved the interaction between the actors on the aftershow. I lol'd. In the early seasons, with the ongoing cycle of them finding a new refuge only to be forced out of it, and the neverending cartoon villain encounters, I thought it just wasn't realistic that they wouldn't find decent settlements after a while, that roving bands of cutthroats just would not be the main outcome of an apocalypse. I thought there would be plenty of dramatic situations that would still be possible in a permanent settlement. But either I was wrong, or they did it badly, because in my opinion the quality fell down a hole after they got to Alexandria. Still, I watched to the end, so I guess it was good enough. Or I have low standards for genre shows. I'm glad the best characters at the end were Daryl and Carol, one who died early in the comics and one who didn't exist in them at all. Suck it, Kirkman. I wonder how this series would have gone if Darabont had helmed to the end.
  19. Wouldn't she have been stuck inside the chamber during the lockdown though? If the system locks elevators and offices, I can't believe it wouldn't also lock the imaging chamber. Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but at this point I'm pretty much here only for Ian. They are young enough to be my child, but apparently genderblending is my thing. Don't judge me.
  20. @davidcalgary29 I have a question that isn't strictly about Drag Race Canada, but it does involve a Canadian queen and Crave. Do we know if Crave will carry Drag Race Belgium, hosted by Rita Baga?
  21. On the easter egg front, there was a formation outside the cave shaped like Vasquez Rocks. And the addictive game headset from TNG in Dal's locker. So many other things I missed, I'm sure. So Ensign Garrovick was the guy from the TOS episode Obsession, right? Was there anything in tie-in fiction about him disappearing in the Galileo?
  22. I LOL'd when they heard the soldiers and ducked behind the wagon. Like the troops would see a horse and wagon sitting there in the woods with no one around and not investigate.
  23. Well to be honest, I heard they would be filming there, don't know where it will actually be set.
  24. Ah OK, so modern Who is more about showrunners with ego, who want to put their own personal stamp on the show, and it's easier to do that if you wipe the slate clean. The show is less important than the showrunner, rather than the other way around in the classic era. Or so it seems to me.
