So Frank and Bill weren't in the game? Or they were but not like this? Or they were just mentioned in a backhanded comment?
-
Never played the game, so I don't know if Bill and Frank's story was shown, or if it was just told in backstory exposition, but... OMG that was one of the sweetest, saddest love stories I've ever seen. A nearly 20-year realistic-feeling relationship between two fully realized characters told in just over an hour. This episode must win all the awards.

I read in a review somewhere that the shorter episodes have lost the mini-challenges, and I hadn't consciously realized that, but it must have been contributing to my cognitive dissonance. I miss Untucked (in Canada we get the show on premium cable, Crave is bundled with HBO, but we don't get Untucked). I came to Drag Race late, and watched seasons 1-14 on demand. For all the previous US seasons I would find Untucked on YouTube after each episode for that extra context. They were usually "best of" excerpts strung together by international fans. But at least it was something. Now the show will be long over before I'll get to see even that. :( For those who don't watch non-US series, there's a mini-Untucked during the episode, between judging sessions.

Boo. I was more invested in Amethyst than STDs. Wait...

Yeah I think that was the driver for Ava. That if they tried to use artificial means to force the baby into the hearing world to satisfy her parents' (especially her father's) need for a hearing child, that she would be straddling two worlds and be unhappy in both. Ava felt she would have a better life if allowed to just be deaf, than if she were forced to be deaf but trying to hear. There actually was nuance, in fact.

I am really liking these characters, and especially how they interact with each other. Ormewood is my least favourite, but I can see myself warming up to him at some point. But hey, be careful rolling around indiscriminately on the bed guys, think of Betty.

It was icky watching them laugh at each other being next door to cheating. Weren't they promising just before the car attack to keep each other from going off the rails? I can understand Anne's trauma having her act out like this, but not sure where it's coming from with Kate.

The chart also said that bites in the face/head/neck would develop in about 1 hour. So they knew she had next to no time at all.

Larroquette is so much better than everyone else he seems like he's in another show.

I admit, my opinion might be influenced by the actors' complete lack of chemistry (which I think is mostly his fault, to me he has absolutely no charm.)

Asher was adorable tonight. What was with Glassman slinking off when everyone else was celebrating? He better not be going emo again. Yes, Reznick, maintain those boundaries. Park is getting really close to being inappropriately stalker-y. Some really nice, subtle, non-verbal acting choices tonight: the mom telling her son pre-surgery that whatever happened she'd be OK, then having to quickly compose herself before he sees her face again the recognition and acknowledgement between Shaun and Glassman that Shaun needed a hug and Glassman wanted to comfort him Oh and I'm still not convinced that Lim is 100% committed to this relationship, but is uneasy about ending it with a man in a wheelchair, like she'd be accused of abandoning him or something.

S21.E01: Bill Barr; Andrew Sullivan; Rep. Nancy Mace
Starchild replied to tessaray's topic in Real Time With Bill Maher
My guess is it's just a subconscious affectation. I've tried to watch his standup shows but can't sit through his smugness for that long. So I can't tell you whether he does it there too. Maybe it's only something he does while wearing a suit, which I can understand he may be less comfortable in. Funny, I thought Republicans like Cheney and Kinzinger (and to a lesser extent, Romney) were as good as it gets. What's Mace's voting record? The people Bill has on his show that stand with him on "wokeness is going too far" make me uncomfortable. They never seem to suggest compromise positions, which implies that they want it all to go back to "the way it was." But "the way it was" hurt a lot of people and let a lot of other people get away with heinous things. It sounds a lot like "Make America Great Again" to be honest. -
Wasn't clear to me if the accomplice was another student at the same school. Or just some random internet friend who wanted to shoot some people up. Eh, probably doesn't matter.

He's been doing it for quite a while. I've also seen it when he's sitting in the chair doing the first interview, not just standing for the opening monologue. You won't be able to unsee it now. -
Maybe in order to limit mask use, they're going to have it so that spores are only active at the moment an infected person "explodes."

In that case maybe they'll give Bull an off-camera, South Park-style send off lol.

I would be shocked if he didn't.

I don't remember the dialogue exactly, except for the final line of the exchange (paraphrased except for the end): Abby: "You've got a great place." Dan: "My wife chose it for the view." Abby: "She must be happy living here." Dan: "She was." The cues surrounding that last statement were sombre. So I definitely got the sense he was widowed, not separated or divorced. As to whether or not that turns out to have been Christine, we'll see. If he was following her to another city at the end of the original show, it wouldn't be unbelievable. And it would be a nice way to keep Markie Post in the DNA of the new show, not unlike Anderson has been woven in, with the new judge being his daughter. As for Roz and Bull, the actors are still alive, so they might come back for the occasional cameo, which would be nice if it could happen.

The way Kate and her client questioned each other about their spouses has me worried something is going to start between them. And I have to say I'm not enjoying the stereotypical jokes re: the product's side effects.
-
Yeah I found all that pretty annoying. The key-dropping was funny though. If Dan is going to be messing with her on a regular basis, I might be able to tolerate her.
-
Not just a former client, but the one who kept trying to get Anne's daughter to be her therapist.

Oh right the judging segment. I knew something felt abrupt between sending the girls off and bringing them back, but I didn't clue in about the judging segment being missing. In my defense, I have a cold. Something to do with the switch to MTV then? It was weird, I hope it doesn't continue.

Oh I thought he told them his neighbour had died. Did I mishear?
