  1. "365 degrees" is contained in the lyrics for the Talking Heads song "Burning Down the House"
  2. I was just thinking the same thing. Cheating happens, but the way this particular near-affair is playing out doesn't make any logical sense. Kate's never before shown a tendency for it, and she isn't having any problems with Nathan that would make her consider it. It's just not working for me. They're Canadian, but perhaps the ads are for the US market?
  3. Years ago I did wonder what TWD might be like if it were on HBO.
  4. Jordan can STFU with her pseudo-prosletyzing. Moral choices are not her purview. Have your opinion but keep it to yourself when people are dealing with life-threatening situations. Leaving Shaun's brilliance aside for the moment (because he has the capability to visualize what others can't), I have no problems with brand new surgeons having ideas like, hey let's do for this guy what we normally do for babies. What I do roll my eyes over is them having those ideas when the experienced surgeons don't. You could argue she had blinders on, but the nature of those blinders shouldn't have precluded her from seeing that an established surgical practice that she has full knowledge of (she'd have to, as Head) wouldn't work in this situation. Come on, writers. I thought Lea made an interesting observation about who may have learned from whom in Shaun and Glassman's relationship.
  5. Even minimal effects by today's standards would be a vast improvement. But really, the best part of it was intellectual, the culture clashes, seeing how various communities cut off from each other developed once they forgot their original mission and that they were even on a ship.
  6. I thought she did tell them about the base out west looking for a cure. Unless that's a lie. Since I haven't played the game I don't know.
  7. This ain't no Starlost. I liked Starlost, they should remake it.
  8. I loved Joel and Ellie's interactions in this episode, they really rang true. Their conversations consistently sound like real conversations would. Good writing and performances.
  9. It made me think back to Boston and all that fungus growing in the street. I've seen weeds pop up from cracks in pavement. So at the moment I'm guessing it's a wad of cordyceps that's about to burst through the floor.
  10. Nah, the dog didn't like her, so she killed it for convenience, to get it out of the way so it wouldn't keep barking at her and harshing her mellow.
  11. I think it's precisely this lack of subtlety and nuance that makes me dislike the character. If the actress could be more realistic (like Hudson for example, as someone mentioned above), I don't think I'd hate her as much as I do. I actually found her quite charismatic. I'd be happy if she ended up replacing Addison. Although Ian would still be my first choice as Ben's hologram.
  12. I'm handwaving that as the box generated a field when turned on, and it was that field energy that sucked them in when some part of their body got close enough to it. That's why turning it off would release the ghosts lol
  13. I think they're trying too hard with the mysteries/cases. They're way more convoluted than they need to be, especially this one.
  14. Agree, @cmahorror. Guessing they want to make Dan a horndog again, like the old days. I like your way better.
  15. On the plus side, Betty was extra super cute.
  16. Yeah Snatch Game and RIF were so early this season. I guess there's been complaining that not enough of the girls get a chance to show their stuff if half are gone by the time those challenges roll around.
  17. I haven't really noticed that, but I'll watch out for it. In the meantime, are there ways you've seen her help her daughters?
  18. It started playing 80s music as Joel was leaving his room for the last time, so it hasn't been very long at all. Didn't he suggest his one time with a woman was a very long time ago? Perhaps as a teen while struggling with his identity. I see him as gay, not just a lonely hetero.
  19. Lim: Fire her? I don't know... Andrews: Asher has learned his lesson. Has Powell? Powell: Nope, I did the right thing, I'd do it all again. Lim: Bye, Felicia. OMG this thing between them has been DRAAAAAAGGGGIIINNNNGGGG OOOONNNN TTOOOOOO LOOOOONNNNGGG, would one of them just die already, they're not right for each other.
  20. I liked the little nuance of Joel looking at the dead marigolds(?) and knowing something was seriously wrong. He knew Bill and Frank would never just let the flowers die. And because the writing and acting was so good, we knew that too.
  21. Was that author watching the same show as me? I was crushed under that emotional weight.
  22. Sorry, wasn't thinking. I assumed the Game vs Show thread probably contained spoilers for the show, which I'm trying to avoid. Am I wrong about that?
