Meh, Perry's existential angst is getting on my nerves. Enough already, grow up and be a lawyer.

Prune juice is a warrior's drink! Worf is a pacifist now.

The quality of this show is pretty high. But for some reason it still hasn't gelled with me. Every episode leaves an itchy feeling under my skin. At first I was thinking it was a bait-and-switch, that the courtroom conceit of telling the story of the accused was not really about the trial as much as the backstory. And maybe that wasn't a bait-and-switch, maybe that's what it was always supposed to be. But compared to some of the others, this episode had a lot of courtroom time and I still felt unsatisfied. I think maybe the issue for me is that the accused is always a decent person in a bad situation. Even if they aren't convicted, they've suffered a significant negative impact, up to and including a ruined life, like Jack's. There've been no happy endings, and it's getting depressing. But the writing and acting is good, so I'll probably keep watching for a while yet.

Leaping is one thing, but time traveling (past Ian, future Martinez, etc.) is complicated. You have to be clever to plot it out effectively. I hope the writers are, but it's already confusing so I have my doubts. As for trying to bring Sam home, does he even want to come back? He had his chance and kept leaping. I suppose 40 more years of it could change your mind, but I don't know.

Betty, of course. She elevates it, even when she's not in it much.

I can't see Kate being happy in a corporate environment for long. I think one of her joys was variety and being stuck just marketing drugs will be constraining for her. But that might take a few years, so we may not see it. Alice has always been unpleasant, and will likely continue to be, but I do wonder how much that is due to having Anne as a mom. She's been a mess of anger all along. Lionel is such a sweetie, he deserves better than this, but he does love Anne a lot. For some reason. Jenny is awful.

I don't think we're going to get it on Crave here in Canada. We got all the English-speaking versions, natch. I figure we got France and Belgium because French is one of our official languages, and a significant percentage of our population can understand it natively (while the rest of us are not put off by it). I expect we got Phillipines because we have a large Filipino contingent here. On the other hand, despite also having a large Italian contingent, we didn't get Italy (as far as I'm aware). We also, to my knowledge (and dismay), didn't get: Holland Spain Thailand Germany And I don't expect we'll get Mexico, either. Not sure why we're not getting them all, unless they're finding that subtitled versions don't get the ratings to justify the airtime. Or Crave can't negotiate the rights, for some reason.

It could have been gluten-free. Which, honestly, I would not want to live in that world.

Extinction of the infected isn't enough. We have to remember that cordyceps is still out there. Still capable of infecting the food supply. Could even mutate again. Developing a vaccine is really the only way to win.

Marlene told Joel that she didn't tell Ellie anything before she was sedated for surgery. She clearly didn't want Ellie to have the chance to say no.

Every time Mistress rounds the corner on the runway and the judges all gasp, I'm like, "WTF really? How? Where?"

HAHA I thought of these guys when I was thinking about "the cure."

I recall an explanation at the time Ro was introduced that Bajoran names were surname first. So Ro is her surname (Ensign Ro), just like Kira is a surname (Major Kira). I remember thinking, "oh like in China, that's cool." So I, too, would have expected Picard to use her given name ("Laren") when it was clear she was going to sacrifice herself. This passage from Memory Alpha suggests that Bajorans feel "honoured" when other cultures get it right, but mostly they just accept that the construct will be misunderstood. https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Bajoran#Names I always loved the onscreen relationship between Janeway and Seven, I would love to see them together again. Ooh, ooh. What if these aren't the original Changelings at all? They so despised "solids" it's hard to believe them becoming more like them. What if they used their genetic engineering skills to "evolve" the Jem Hadar into a subservient shapeshifting warrior race? Like many young women at the time, I always loved the Janeway character, which extended to a strong regard for Mulgrew as well. When the stories came out, it hurt to think she could be petty and vindictive to someone just trying to do their job. Ryan rarely engaged and I developed a lot of respect for her professionalism. In the end I love them both, and if they ever developed a new show with Janeway and Seven, I would watch it for sure. When he bounced out the door, I looked around at my empty living room and said, out loud, "I like that guy."

To me, Mistress is average. Her mindgame shenanigans drag her down to low for me. Loosey displayed significant self-esteem issues this week, which I totally get, I have some of them too. Mistress appeared to be listening and I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that this is the first she's hearing of it. If she continues to undermine Loosey next week, she'll drop straight to the bottom for me. The least deserving to win of the queens that are left. Such a contrast to the Belgian queens, who are all so supportive of each other. Sometimes the US version is just so mean. As for Anetra, I agree. Her performance was so warm and loving, I really felt it. She's so good. She's my #1, I want her to win so much.

Agreed.

"The Rusical" is set in the small town of West Bumtuck, where drag is outlawed, and an underground alliance forms to try and defeat the bigots; country musician Orville Peck guest judges. I like Loosey, and I think she's gotten a raw deal this season. But she didn't win that lipsync.

I can think of two points about this: 1) this seems to be a form of cordyceps that attacks only humans, so animal experimentation would not be useful 2) I think it's implied that what's unique about Ellie's immunity is not just that she was born immediately after her mom was bitten, but that the timing between the bite and the cutting of the umbilical cord hit some sweet spot that conferred immunity instead of illness. They could experiment to try to duplicate it, but that could only be done with humans, and that's too dark even for the Fireflies.

It was practically a throwaway line, but I was struck when one of the protesters implied that she believed it had to be a conspiracy because there's no way there can really be this many kids dying from school shootings. I'm guessing the writers drew motivations for these protestors from real life research. Are there really people out there who hold this view? That this many deaths from school shootings is so unbelievable that it can't be believed? And if they don't believe it, they won't fix it. So sad.

Oh I understand why Neville is trying to ensure that Jackie (and by extension, her family) can't access his money. Just not sure why she doesn't have more of her own. So Bev's holdings don't cover her care? I knew that Jackie was having to step in to arrange/manage Bev's care (which she resented), but I thought Bev had enough in her accounts to cover the costs. If Jackie is using her own money to support Bev, that makes Dan even more of an asshole.
-
Apparently she'd be too frozen to use it.
-
This is where I'm a little confused. If she is keeping her money separate from Neville's money, then why is Neville funding gas, and why did she have to ask him for $1000? Jackie owns a business and has her own income from it. We don't know how well or badly the Lunch Box business is doing, but it's been a going concern for a while. I'm going to go ahead and assume she pays her family members who work for her. But they don't pay rent on the property right? They got it from Bev? So there's a huge business expense that they don't have, that many other businesses do. Jackie's business must be paying her some kind of a salary. She shares shelter costs with her husband, so she can't be using all of it on personal or household expenses. Unless the Lunch Box is bleeding money, it's hard to believe Jackie couldn't afford to pay for at least part of this road trip without begging Neville. Or have I missed something?

Get those Frites Away from My Face! Drag Race Belgique

I never really warmed up to Valenciaga, so I'm OK with this result. -
When Perry crawls under the door, the dog is moving and/or whimpering slightly, still alive. I'm pretty certain that's a trope intended to let the audience know the victim will recover. They do it for humans too.

When Shaun was served last week, I was half hoping the plaintiff was Lim. Just to see what would happen.

If I had to guess, I would say that Marlene knew about Sarah.
