S01.E03: People Are a Resource
Starchild replied to nodorothyparker's topic in Walking Dead: Dead City
I read in some article that Hilltop 2.0 is somewhere in NY or NJ. Mind you, that doesn't seem any more credible than Ginny's cross-country trek. It seems unbelievable that they couldn't settle somewhere closer to Hilltop 1.0 than having to traipse 400 miles north before a feasible option presented itself. -
S01.E03: People Are a Resource
Starchild replied to nodorothyparker's topic in Walking Dead: Dead City
I guess at some point she learned about Ginny's Dino, can't recall when that happened. It's like she knows Ginny's around, but she doesn't want that kid distracting Negan from helping her find her kid. But I guess Ginny's about to whistle... So the Croat is mining walkers for methane and using it to power the city? As well as using them as a low-rent substitute for 'shrooms? I want to hear about this science. -
One of them is devoted to the Fame Games, so really it's one more plus the finale. I'm betting there will be a surprise save ("Kandy, I'm not ready for you to go!") and it will be a 3-person finale. Although what a gag it would be if Kandy wins next week and eliminates Jimbo. If that happens, Jessica better win.

Drag Race France: Une Seule Sera La Reine!
Starchild replied to davidcalgary29's topic in RuPaul's Drag Race
Ditto on Moon, she's my vibe. That was one of the worst choices for a lip sync song I've ever heard. Both the girls were struggling with that one. Sorry to see Rose go, I liked her, hope it doesn't mess Punani up too much. -
Spoilers & Speculation: Why IS Daryl in France?

You just know that this was a Star Trek thing, scientists working on a way to extend life. -
Spoilers & Speculation: Why IS Daryl in France?
Starchild replied to OoohMaggie's topic in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon
I would watch Daryl and Carol (especially since I love Carol when she's not moping, and hopefully that's done), but Daryl alone is boring. His character is a reactor. He has always hung around in the background until someone needs him to do something. He doesn't drive the action. The strong, silent type on a mission could work, but the strong, silent type just wandering around? Nah. The Daryl show could succeed if he has good scene partners he can react to, but that success would come in spite of Daryl's character, not because of him. I'm debating not watching, but if Melissa McBride comes back to any of the shows, the most likely would be this one, so I'm considering watching so that I'm not behind if/when that happens. -
S08.E08: You're A Winner Baby
Starchild replied to joanne3482's topic in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
I wonder if she has enough self-awareness to realize that. I understand how and why people who are part of a perceived underclass will decide to be over-the-top confident in order to shake their ass at the haters, and I say go for it. Fuck the haters. It's only when they don't realize they're also hurting good, decent people that it starts to bother me. -
I think he was rightly horrified by that guy killing the old lady for no reason. He wanted revenge on her behalf and he used that feeling to make himself kill the guy the way he did. But yeah, how he holds on to the progress he's made could be interesting.

He remembers Maggie from his time with the Saviors, so my guess is this is personal.

Not if Hershel dies at the end of it. That would make it worthwhile, especially after tonight's scene of teen angst. Seriously, why does the TWD universe think we need kids on every show? I can't think of one that's worth having around. Even Carl was a PITA until he grew up a little, and even then he was still kind of annoying. I'm guessing he was alluding to rape, no? We've seen how distasteful Negan finds it. I know there's those who argue that his forced harem amounts to the same thing, but clearly he thinks there's a difference. Maybe the absence of overt violence? Who knows how he justifies it, but justify it he does.

Billionaire Murders (CRAVE)
Starchild replied to greekmom's topic in Miscellaneous Networks/Streaming Services
This really is an interesting case. Watched eps 1,2 last week, looking forward to seeing the final two. Have learned a lot of detail from this journalist fellow. I do wonder if it was some family member or other close contact. I also wonder why the police were so quick to jump to murder-suicide with virtually no investigation. Laziness? Outside influencer? -

I don't have access to Untucked, did something happen there that might have prompted Alexis to break her promise to LaLa? -
Drag Race Mexico! Once Reinas Entran...

Thanks! Yeah I watched France, I thought Lolita was underappreciated. I don't want to say it's because she was brown, oh oops. -

Oh god I would never dream of saying any of this stuff to them directly, that's just gross. They provided entertainment, and I just didn't like the way it played out, end of story. Nothing personal, it's just drag. -

This statement has me intrigued. I don't suppose there's anything on YT yet? -

I will admit that I don't mind (almost like) Kandy when she's not bullying someone. That being said, Alexis that was some bullshit. She must be more afraid of Kandy (and her fans) than she is of being called out for being untrustworthy. I mean, if you're going to be vilified either way you might as well do the honourable thing and keep your promise. -
TMP had them too. Although for some reason they were gone again after that.

I thought it was odd that granting asylum under the quoted law seemed to mean she also gets to stay in Starfleet. I don't think that law means that a Starfleet captain granting asylum means the person is getting into Starfleet, only that they're getting into the Federation. Which Una already was. I would have thought that the best she could hope for under the circumstances was an honourable discharge. So unless this case also led to a change in Starfleet regulations regarding augments serving, her staying in Starfleet was a very liberal interpretation of the law by all involved. Maybe it did change the regulation to consider individual circumstances, since Bashir and Dal were also able to stay despite their augmented states. Not counting Discovery, which series is set the latest? Picard, right? Augments are still generally banned, aren't they?

Well sure, TOS had some great courtroom stuff. Kirk was court-martialed at least twice in the series, Spock once, and Scotty was on trial for murder!

S08.E07: Forensic Queens
Starchild replied to davidcalgary29's topic in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
This might be the best fan fiction I've ever read -
I've heard that rumour too, and if it's true I'm not terribly excited about that as a way to end the series. That character was a fan favourite, though, and he did have a pretty interesting character dynamic with Madison. But I was glad when she killed him and I can't say I'd be happy to see him come back.

Drag Race France: Une Seule Sera La Reine!

I have not yet subscribed to a single streaming service. Still using regular cable TV, plus paying extra for HBO/Crave. I suppose at some point I'll cave, but not yet lol -

Starchild replied to davidcalgary29's topic in RuPaul's Drag Race
Generally speaking then, it looks like Crave is only carrying English (US, UK, CAD, AUS) and French (FRA, BEL) versions of Drag Race, which makes sense, since those are Canada's official languages. Drag Race: Philippines seems to be the only exception, presumably due to the large contingent of Filipinos resident here. I hope the next season has better sound and editing. :)
