I just watched this. I adore Carol Burnett, have since I was a little kid, but I kind of expected this to be the usual cringey Hollywood honour night. But it was awesome, because you could see how everyone there, and there were a LOT of people, just genuinely love Carol. Whether onstage or in the audience, there was so much warmth from everyone and it was a joy to watch. I loved that her bestie Julie Andrews was sitting beside her the whole time.

I was wondering the same thing, it's an obscure comparison for sure. Maybe it depends on his level of self-awareness. If he's clueless, he might think he's Tom Cruise and Barry follows him around like a stupid puppy. Or maybe he realizes that even if that used to be true, their roles have now reversed and he's the one that needs Barry to take care of him. But who knows for sure?
