S10.E12: The Hamptons Hangover
luckyroll3 replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Oooh, can I come? I love poutine and a poutine bar sounds amazing! This episode was rough. I looked up from what I was doing thinking, this must be over soon. When I looked at the time, ONLY 20 MINUTES HAD PASSED!!! Does Theresa ever have an original thought, or is everything planted in her brain by the producers and other people? -
And don't forget petty AF! When he told the reporter that Loretta was sleeping with Ghost and then threw it in her face that her name would be always be associated with sleeping client... (Although I don't condone this type of petty because his sleeping around isn't affecting his career aspirations, but the mere suggestion that she might have can impact hers is some real patriarchal bullshit.)

Oh, they'll just make Kat VP of Digital and promote Jane to some other position that she doesn't deserve.

Yeah, I don't think Juliette wants or cares about this "job". She was gifted the tickets to Greece 2+ weeks ago and only now she's talking to her boss about it? She seemed stunned that taking some of the clothes and posting them on her instagram wasn't enough for her boss. But whatever, she'll probably be rewarded for blowing off the job and the grand opening.

I think she's supposed to be leading the marketing efforts for the store, especially as it grows from a boutique to an online presence?

I enjoyed the heck out of this. It was pretty well done, and I think Martin Lawrence really shined in this. The action parts aren't really his thing, so they let him do what he does best and it worked. It's was bugging me the entire movie where I knew him from and my brain just couldn't place him. But damn, I didn't realize how much of a big boy he was. Me either. But as soon as I heard they got the original actor back, I knew he was goner. Looking forward to #4. Hopefully they also get Gaby Union back.

That's so right. Thanks for jogging my memory. That kid was definitely upper elementary age, or at the most a 6th or 7th grader. She should be a 3rd year teacher. Her TFA commitment ended last year, which is why she was so excited to move back home to be with the married guy because he was supposed to end it with his wife. Then when he said he wasn't going to (duh), she decided to stay on.

I could have sworn in the first season that Davia said she taught kindergarten. Or did I just make that up in my head. Gumboot Becky was indeed cringe worthy. I get what she was trying to do and it was a very cool way to connect the content in the book to something her kids would be interested in. However, she could have found a video or reached out to folks in the community who do stepping. If she wasn't comfortable asking Malika for potential leads (I have a vague memory of Malika and her friends doing a bit of stepping during their spoken word piece at the Coterie performance dinner thing), she could have done some research on her own to find someone.

And he didn't bat an eye lying about something he did on camera. Then when they showed him picking up Amanda's wallet....what a creep. I'm really liking Jared and his dad bod, as well as Cara's friend. Would totally take her as a main cast member over Cara who is just annoying as fuck. She doesn't want to be Garrett, but she wants him to end it so that she can say he's the bad guy. She's a dick. Chloe got it right when she said Cara isn't confused, she just confusing Garrett. Speaking of Chloe, she couldn't be more pleased that she know has this police report which gives her the upper hand over her and Juliet's friendship. If she wasn't so damn manipulative, I think Chloe would make an amazing therapist.

Tanya and her closet are featured in this month's Essence. I bet Nene and Marlo are seething.

Lexie is one bad ass tumbler! I can watch her tumble for hours. Even in the video of their routine that was posted upthread, I couldn't take my eyes off of her. I'm glad they gave her another chance to be on the team. When she said she got kicked off, it made me cry, cause you can tell she's one of the kids that really needs something like this to keep them going. I was such a La'Darius fan up until that episode when he kept dropping his partner and blaming her. Then he started badmouthing her, Monica, and the organization in an attempt to get the guys on his side. The only reason he started putting effort in again is because everyone was routing for Jerry when he filled in. Then all of a sudden, he's the "motivator" again. I wanted to punch him in the face every time he chastised other people for not giving 100%. What a dick. I kinda feel like he did all that because he wasn't getting enough attention/camera time.

Enjoyed this so much more than I thought I would. It made me bust out laughing quite a few times and that doesn't happen often.

Right?!?! They would be unstoppable.

For real. She didn't have any problem before inserting herself into any and all of Portia and Dennis' business, but now all of a sudden, she doesn't know where to step in? Please.

I fucking enjoyed the heck outta this episode (well, except for Tariq, but that goes without saying). Nice to see that Elisa Marie and Auntie Debbie Mazar are the smartest people on this show. They were both piecing stuff together left and right. I loved the aunt straight up calling Tariq on his bullshit. Same! Elisa Marie and the aunt taking over the organization. Loved everything about this. I actually wouldn't mind seeing Tommy taking Elisa Marie on as a protege. Elisa Marie says she's going to California for college, except it's actually to join Tommy's organization Does this mean Jamie is actually dead? Also, Tariq, just cause it can't be said enough:

Who was the lady who brought dessert???

She was with that one dude who she got rid of because he said he was bicurious, and that was just before her getting involved with the professor. Part of me thinks she's a surrogate as a way to get money; I'm having a vague memory of her parents cutting her off because she came out to them (or was that another show?).

This! I was thinking to myself as I watched the last episode how much I enjoyed almost all of these people because none of them were assholes and none of them felt they "deserved to win" for some reason. They all acknowledged they had to work towards it by building actual relationships. I for sure thought Joey would be a dick and Rebecca/Seaburn initially put me off by how excited he was to catfish everyone. But they were both really nice and sweet. The one person I probably wouldn't have liked is the model chick who got voted off first cause she was just straight up annoying.

Like Oprah says, when someone shows you who they are, believe them. But folks in their 20s never listen. Kinda crazy that Nomi's the one who is pregnant. I'm glad that Sky has a love interest that's not Junior (and also that she's not pregnant by Junior, cause that's where my head went they teased a pregnancy).

They think he's using her to get on the show and to build his social media business/brand.

Bachelor Guy: "I guess I was wrong last night. I didn't ever want to see you cry, because I didn't think you'd be pretty when you cry." Me: I could just imagine one of the producers telling drunk Juliette, "no matter what Chloe says, ask her about Alex," cause she was so focused on sticking to that.

RHoNJ in the Media: Paparazzi Whore!
luckyroll3 replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Just listened to this and it was great. I also came away liking Jennifer a bit more, but holy hell is she a talker. Heather could hardly get a word in to ask the questions and Jennifer kept going on random-ass tangents. However, her Beverly encounter was....wow! Danielle is batshit crazy and really needs some serious therapy. -
That's tame compared to the upscale boutique set up she usually has going on in her hotel room, unless that was in another area. More power to her; I don't even bother to unpack when I travel, much less try to make my accommodations feel homey. I barely remember to pack pajamas so picture frames surely aren't making the list.

Home is the Virgin Islands and Anguilla. Both BVI and Anguilla do carnival in August; trying to decide which one to attend. Ayeeee! I have to say I was impressed with Tanya's dancing. I didn't think she had all that. Same. That was the best part. I always rather see the ladies having fun and enjoying themselves. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy [some] of the drama, just not 2 hrs and 40 minutes of it.
