Why was he on Dr. Phil?? I am finding Dee to be so annoying this season and wanted her to lose, but I didn't have a problem with Wes helping her. The peanut gallery has ALWAYS helped the Challengers competing in the elimination game by shouting answers, providing strategy, pointing out where missing pieces are, yelling that someone is about to come around a corner to take them out at full speed; this was no different. It has never been against the rules. With the handlebar mustache and the overalls, I thought he was going for a Luigi from the Mario Bros look.

I agree. I thought this was a hot mess! I was pretty annoyed by this. They had "baby Jamal wears drag and gets thrown in the trash" scene. And adult Jamal was in flashback scene where Cookie pulls the food off the table, but they used an angle where you could barely see him. They completely eliminated the character which was not cool. He wasn't in any of the family photos they panned over and as close as all the brothers were, there's no way that Jamal would miss Andre's wedding or not be there to support Andre when he got released from treatment. They didn't even have a throw away line as to why he wasn't there. I get they wanted to distance themselves from Jussie, but I only continued to watch the episode because I was so sure that he pop up somewhere. But I was disappointed by that too. The first season of this show was phenomenal nighttime soap magic! And it will always be close to my heart. (Off to listen to the songs from the first season...)

Nene is a loyal friend as along as her friends are firmly up her ass and stroking her ego.

I think Kaela was already 18 or about to turn 18 when she officially moved in. (I only know this because I just finished a rewatch of all 11 season. I remember Kandi saying during the season Kaela moved in that Kaela and Riley didn't really hang out much and it was because Kaela was old enough to be out with friends until pretty late and Riley was only like 13 or 14.) So I don't know how true the child support avoidance thing is. Me either. Todd is definitely levels above all of them. He's handsome, smart, motivated with a good work ethic, has a decent sense of humor, seems to be very into Kandi and shares her same freaky-deaky proclivities, and is willing to put up with Mama Joyce and the rest of her family's bs, even though you can tell that he definitely values himself and demands some respect for what he brings to the table. I mean, I'm struggling to think of at least 2-3 good things about the other significant others in that list....

I don't think Todd is uninterested at all. I think part of the problem is that he and Kaela had more of friend-type relationship, than a father-daughter one. And when she became an adult and wanted to start focusing on her "passion" (I think Kaela wants to do something in fashion; a stylist maybe?), it seemed like Todd wanted her to do the work and take the steps to get there instead of her counting on/expecting to be able to easily enter the scene because Kandi's in entertainment and has money. And he put his foot down hard on that because of the perception receiving Kandi's help would perpetuate. So now he's trying to go the "I know best because I'm your father" route and Kaela's not there for that either, hence all the fighting between them. I agree that this is probably very present of mind for Todd when it comes to Kandi giving Kaela money. All it would take is for Kandi to say she's thinking about investing in Kaela's business, and the screwed up faces, pursed lips and side-eyes from Joyce and her crew wouldn't be far behind, followed by Joyce's shoe in Kaela's direction.

I hear this, but I can see Andrew's side. From the second he met Molly, she's been an oversharer. And she continued to be an oversharer because he was willing to listen and not judge her, while also still being into her. But just because he doesn't mind her giving up all her intimate and childhood details, doesn't mean he feels the same way in sharing his stuff, especially when she kept making it clear that she was keeping him at a distance, at least romantically. But now that she's changed her mind after keeping him at bay, he's supposed to trust her with his feelings? Especially when she's always so quick to find something wrong.....there's a real chance that he might open up and share with her, only for her to use what he shares as another reason to sabotage the relationship. I really hope not. Oh how I've missed Chad!

I can't stand Mama Joyce! You can't demand respect when you're always being disrespectful as fuck. I don't care whose mama you are! Kandi needs to tell her to stay the fuck outta their marriage. I was also pretty annoyed that Kandi kept harping on it even after Todd initially apologized on their phone call, especially when she NEVER goes that hard on MJ to apologize for all the vile shit she does. She should feel lucky that Todd doesn't demand that that woman stays away from him and his kids, because given the things that she's said and done, a lot of people wouldn't hesitate to keep her away from them. If the man says he needs a breather from her and her fucking negativity, let him take one. And then she has the nerve to use the baby shower as an emotional weapon. It's interesting that when Nene get's called out for saying stuff in the press/media about one of the ladies, her response is always that she was asked and she doesn't care how they received. So I guess she's the only one allowed to use that reasoning. Part of me just wants someone to lock Kenya and Nene in a dark room together and come back in a week to see who emerges. The two of them are a piece of work. And did Sheree pass her bones off to Marlo in the relay race? Can they just not enjoy an event without spiraling into chaos? I like messy as much as the next viewer, but I definitely enjoy the show more when they are having a good time together and throwing fun shade, as opposed to being openly hostile and downright mean to each other.

I was very confused why they were revering the surrogate and the nurse who stole Ryn's embryo and then got themselves into trouble because they implanted Ryn's siren embryo into a womb that was not designed to handle it. Cult leader dude wasn't the only bad guy here....the whole thing annoyed the fuck out of me. Glad the baby is healthy, but why did it take so long to get it to the water. I expected that to be the first thing they did, not to set up a rocking chair.

In my rewatch of this episode, I noticed that in the shopping scene, Molly tells Issa that Andrew works at Live Nation. Totally missed that the first time around.

S01.E05: Bellweather Season
luckyroll3 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Motherland: Fort Salem
I clearly missed this explanation in from prior episodes, so thank you for the information. I was just assuming that the Spree were working in conjunction with It. This was my thought as well. That Raelle's mom got left for dead after a botched mission and she as someone who was already disillusioned with the military, joined the other side. -
That bolded part?

In the last episode of the previous season, Issa did have an interview with the head of that Music non-profit she was interested in. Since it seems not much time has passed since season 3, she may still be waiting to hear back from that job and focusing on moving the block party forward/building momentum in the mean time.

Andrew is so fine AND a smart, funny, decent guy. It's what we all hope for! I don't know why she playing. I hope they bring back Nathan at some point, or at least we see him at Andrew's house. He's also some eye candy....
-
Kandi was in the episode too! She was in the last scene when Lawrence is watching the docuseries crying "I know he did. I know it in my heart!" (She's Glenda, LaToya's Mom.) It was the way she said "heart" that made me say, that sounded like Kandi, and rewound it to check. It's definitely her. I wonder how many more of the ladies will show up as we learn what happened to LaToya at the Red Lobster.

The actress who plays Kelli is a writer on the show and usually improvises most of her lines. Tiffany was pretending it was no big deal, but her ass knew. That's why she skedaddled out of there with the quickness. It's also why she was so concerned about Issa being mad at her. Same. I'm also giving most of them side eye for the reasons you called out. In their friend group, Issa is the one at the bottom. She works a shit job and never has any money. She comes up with crazy ideas that she can never really execute. To them, there was no other outcome except that this little thing would also fail or she would just abandon it and move on to the next thing. There was scene last season where Molly basically encourages Issa to forget about the block party and Issa agrees.....until she gets encouragement from Nathan that if that's what she really wants to do, she needs to follow her instincts and commit to the work that needs to happen. When Molly hears that Issa has decided to move forward with it and that Nathan gave her praise for pushing through, she was quite salty about instead of saying something like, "OK girl, if you really want this, what do you need from me to help get there, to support you." And you can see shades of that here. They didn't help in anyway to make the mixer happen, but they did little things like manning the bar, staying behind to clean, etc. so that they can say that they helped. And don't get me started in Molly. We see very little growth with her character because Molly refuses to change. She was all too happy to continue stringing Andrew along, as long as he was actively chasing her. So learning that he's still dating other people is a sock to her gut, which is rich especially because she keeps refusing to commit to anything serious with him. Girl please. And her telling Issa to dump Condola as friend because she's dating Lawrence? Sigh. Condola has not been shady to Issa, they like each other as friends, and actually work really well together. If they can get past the initial awkwardness, there's no reason for them to be enemies. But Molly is the type to be so quick to be done with other people. She's just negative in general and having a friend like her is tough.

S12.E21: Moving Up and Moving On

Was it my imagination or did Dennis have a hotdog tattooed on the back of his head????? -
The best part about the calendar were the captions!

Exactly. I no longer like Nene enough to watch her on a show by herself. And I have absolutely no interest in watching Greg be her Benson. I suspect she also doesn't have enough real friends outside of the show who could help her make a compelling spinoff either.

S12.E20: More Love More Problems
luckyroll3 replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
I for one really like Kandi and Todd together and hope they make it. Just the fact that they openly talk about their issues and go to counseling is a good sign. Whoever said upthread that if their roles were reversed, no one would be judging Todd for working all the time is so true. Although, I do think that the reason Todd does turn stuff down that he may really want to do is to ensure that at least one parent is around. I don't think either of them is wrong; they just need to look at how they can shift things a bit so that they are both able to do things they are passionate about. And also, think about moving Mama Joyce out of their damn neighborhood, and maybe even the state. -
Here we go again with Nene talking shit about someone and then acting like they're crazy when they call her out. Also, it's not Kandi's fault that Bravo doesn't think your show ideas are entertaining.....

S12.E20: More Love More Problems
luckyroll3 replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
So true and I agree. I just finished rewatching season 9, when Kenya was dating Matt. And when his behavior started getting weird/erratic and his level of violence and craziness began to escalate and kept escalating, she kept making excuses for him and tried to keep the relationship going. Part of it was because she felt that he was "a good man" and she'd waited so long to find someone like him. The other part of it is because many of the ladies on the show (and I have no doubt others) kept implying that she should feel bad for being sooooooo old and single and that she has value if she isn't married. So I'm not surprised at all that she's hoping for her and Mark to work everything out. I wonder if she has never met her in-laws. That's so bizarre for him to essentially ban her from speaking to them. What the hell? When she said she wanted her aunt to handle everything, I just assumed she meant Aunt Lori. I was like, who is this Aunt Lisa?! Lol! -
Except she was talking about when the infamous Chateau Sheree would be complete, not her no fashions clothing line!

I'm still laughing at #SeptemberSpringSummer! Girl, it's called fall!

Nany's teeth were so damn distracting! I was paying more attention to those chompers than watching the actual show. I am so not here for the Wes/Johnny alliance. I will enjoy the inevitable drama it will create, but I will not support it. And I'll wait for Johnny to prove himself to be the snake he is. You in danger Wes! Never forget what happened to Sarah.
