  1. I really loved this episode - even more on rewatch. The Durin/Elrond/Disa scenes are a delight. And the big ending with the Numenorians deciding to join the elves in battle gave me chills. Really enjoying this show so far.
  2. The Case of the Libertine Belle is my favorite episode of the whole series. So many gems. Blanche: I'm from the South. Flirting is part of my heritage. Rose: What does that mean? Dorothy: Her mother was a slut too. *Rose nods in agreement* Sophia: C'mon, Pussycat, you figured out that mystery at dinner Dorothy: Oh Ma, that was a game; this is life. Sophia: Oh yeah, you've never been very good at life. Dorothy: In the first place, it is unlikely that Gloria murdered her father. Statistics show that patricide is overwhelmingly a male crime, although daughters frequently murder their mothers!
  3. I really liked this episode and found it to be a big step up from the first two, which were mostly setup. Particularly like the scenes in Numenor. The Harfoots just leaving people behind is…not great. I know they’re all about survival, but what about community and compassion? I don’t entirely trust that Halbrand.
  4. Their story is the one I've hooked into so far* That might change depending on how it all unfolds. I'm also curious about Nori and The Stranger. I have a thought about who he might be, so curious to see if that will turn out to be right. Kudos to Morfydd Clark. I assume filming those scenes in the Sundering Seas was not easy. *I'm not saying that I'm biased because I like Ismael Cruz Cordova (Arondir) from his guest stint in S1 of The Mandalorian...but I'm not NOT saying it. 😆
  5. The experience of watching this episode was like sitting near a fire with a familiar, warm blanket. Being in this world again felt wonderful. And I'm intrigued by some of the new characters that were introduced (particularly Arondir). Premiere episodes are always tough because the need for exposition sometimes crowds out the character building, but I think the writers struck a solid balance here.
  6. Gonna add this to my list on Acorn. Thanks for sharing!
  7. I'm midway through season 5, and I cannot believe Will proposed to Ellie. WTF, Will? Also, Leonard saying to Mrs. C "Sometimes I wish St. Paul hadn't written so many letters" made me cackle.
  8. Everything having to do with Ludo irritated me. The fact that he's the one who killed poor Mrs. Bright will always piss me off.
  9. I'm still kinda peeved that they brought Mrs. Bright on just to kill her off.
  10. I don't play video games either, but I adore Drummer, so I may have to start!
  11. I've also just gotten to season 4, and Daniel saying to Leonard "You're just kind, that's all" is the best description of Leonard I've heard. Also, "Bloody Vicars" would be a great alternate name for this show.
  12. Truly one of my favorite Blanche moments - or just moments period - of the show!
  13. I loved this episode, and I definitely didn’t expect to. When I realized that the story was being pulled from Rukiya, I thought/hoped she could be saved. M’benga saying goodbye to his daughter was heartbreaking. I legit teared up, and I did not expect that at all when I sat down to watch this episode. As for the rest… LOVED Uhuru as Queen Neve. In fact, I loved seeing all the cast members play these heightened fairytale characters. I knew I was enjoying the episode because I kept looking forward to seeing which characters each crew member would be.
  14. Definitely want to see this character again! Pike saying "get the hell outta my chair" delighted me.
  15. Liked seeing Ian Ho, who played Xan on the last season of The Expanse, as First Servant. Was surprised they didn't save First Servant. Uhura and La'an together is a treat.
  16. Rose (to Dorothy): Did I ever tell you about my cousin, Vigdoff Fricken? He tried to go it alone in a three-legged race. Well-- Dorothy: Please please, Rose, I don't wanna hear about your Fricken cousin!
  17. Finally watching the rest of Murder in Provence, and I am truly impressed at the amount of wine these characters put away.
  18. Now see, watching that reminded me of how cute Monica and Morse were together. As for why/how they ended, I remember at the end of series 2 when Morse was arrested, Monica was shown waiting and wondering where he was. Then series 3 starts and Morse is off licking his wounds with the Not-Gatsby folks. Thursday shows up and Morse does ask after Monica, but then I don't think we see her again until she shows up in a couple of series 4 episodes when Morse is at the hospital for a couple of cases. So, in answer to your question, I think he did just ghost her. Which was the start of him getting on my nerves 😅 I sure hope Monica ended up happy with someone who wasn't pining after someone else.
  19. Caught a glimpse of Anton Lesser in the trailer for the Disney+ series, Andor. This makes me want to actually watch it-lol Also just saw on his IMDB that he'll be in the series 1899 (from the creators of the excellent Netflix show, Dark), so looking forward to seeing him in that as well.
  20. I like the new team a lot (still meh on Neville, though), but I very much miss Dwayne and Fidel. I actually saw Gary Carr in the Chadwick Boseman film 21 Bridges (not very good, btw-lol). It was odd hearing Carr with an American accent.
  21. Started binge watching this show and I've just come to the end of season 2. Leonard is the best!
  22. I've just finished binging the whole series, and was coming here to say this. He did Monica so wrong.
  23. So, I've gone back and started watching from the beginning. Just began season 5. Joan and Morse have big path-of-least-resistance energy for me.
  24. I just started watching this show, and I have one question: when does Bobbie go to school 😅
  25. Bonnie Bartlett - aka Barbara Thorndyke - was interviewed on the So Good We Named It podcast, and she was delightful.
