  1. Kudos to Jasai Chase Owens. He's doing a great job of conveying Filip's turmoil.
  2. Drummer telling Marco "Live shamed and die empty" is a whole mood. Loved Naomi and Holden's conversation because I can see where they're both coming from. She is still dealing with what Marco did to her, and he is trying to help her, in his quixotic, James Holden way. I really like the fact that they're not some perfect couple, and that the conflict between them always feels organic. Continue to love Clarissa and her interactions with the rest of the crew. Her talk with Holden was very poignant. Her X-Ray episode also was touching. You can tell that she wants to move on and fit in with the crew, but she is still haunted by her past. Rosenfeld is also a find. I specifically love the way she cuts Marco down. He is always puffing out his chest. Punk. Just when Filip seems like he's getting a clue, he goes back to spouting his father's talking points. Baby steps, I guess.
  3. Exactly! I miss Camille. She had such a wonderful spirit, and she basically had chemistry with everyone.
  4. It was very sudden. I'm glad he only told Fidel about his feelings for Camille. I generally liked Humphrey, but it was very messed up that he almost cost her a job because of that.
  5. I thought Colin Babcok (the London cabbie) wasn't was the the son of the real (dead) heir, not the fake billionaire and his wife's son. I think I understood this story when I watched it, but now...I'm not so sure-lol
  6. Fuck Marco Inaros and the horse he rode in on. Filip was right (yeah, I know): the Pella didn't need to engage the Rocinante; Marco's ego just couldn't pass up a chance to kill James Holden. Kudos to Bobbie for catching what the Pella and the other ships were doing. Plus I loved her saying "Ah fuck it, we tried!" and then firing. Speaking of which, the space battles continue to be awesome. Loved those little glimpses of Anna and Prax. I miss both characters. I wanted more Drummer and Walker.
  7. I enjoyed the Christmas special. Lovely to see Dwayne again. I liked his rapport with Marlon. Also nice to get a mention of JP. I miss him. I also liked seeing the Commissioner being more involved in a case. The Christmas lunch was very sweet. That lobster looked good! A big NOPE to Neville and Florence. I sincerely hope Florence puts the kibosh on that.
  8. Aftershow for this episode is up on YouTube
  9. I'm enjoying getting glimpses of settler life on Laconia. Based on what Cara's parents were talking about, it sounds like the rogue Martian military officers are taking over the running of the settlement and marginalizing everyone else - e.g., scientists like them. There was also a mention of "what's being built in orbit," which must refer to the orbital shipyard shown at the very end of last season. Fun fact: the kids who play Cara and Xan (her little brother) are real-life twins. One other thing I liked about Drummer's talk with Liang was him saying that he threw in with Marco because he got caught up in the thrill of (finally) retaliating against the inners. Now it's back to the reality of having Marco as the self-proclaimed leader of the Belt, and I'm guessing Liang isn't the only one having buyer's remorse.
  10. Marco's less interested in helping the Belt than helping himself. As Liang "I intimidate him...sexually" Walker said, Marco got lucky and now the Belt thinks he's a genius. Marco believes it too. So I'm not surprised he's spinning the loss of the Azure Dragon as an opportunity. He's always been good at making whatever setbacks he encounters seem like that was his plan all along. And when he can't, he just finds someone else to blame.
  11. That was a good episode. Drummer laying the groundwork for a Belter resistance to the Free Navy was fascinating to watch. Also, Liang saying "The great Marco...with his pretty eyes and his perfect hair" made me cackle. The space battles on this show are truly second to none. I marvel at what the VFX folks do. I did not realize that Avasarala/Monica scenes was a thing I needed but now I want more. Bobbie teasing Amos is the best thing ever. "Don't you worry your pretty little head. That's why I'm here." Haha. Naomi is going through it. I want to give her a hug and my therapists' number.
  12. This episode reminded me of a lot of the slow-burn episodes of season 1. I dug it. As always, I loved catching up with all the characters. The Roci crew looks beat. Naomi clearly has a lot of PTSD from what happened to her last season (can't say I blame her). Amos is on edge, and Holden looks ragged. Clarissa is clearly still trying to keep her head down and stick close to Amos. As my sister said, "Filip is having some challenges." lol At this point, it's hard to feel too much sympathy for him, though. Guess we'll see how his arc unfolds. It's interesting to see how the Laconia stuff is getting incorporated. Those overhead shots of the planet's landscape were breathtaking. Marco can still die in a fire.
  13. Curious when this is coming to BritBox/Amazon here in the US. Presumably a few days later?
  14. More importantly, when Harry gets out, how much will he be able to use his "freaky ass skills" without getting caught?
  15. I figured it wouldn't be plain sailing for Harry and Mel. Curious to see how their story plays out. Bishop's kid totally knows Bishop is his dad.
  16. This is something I still marvel at. I was able to follow the plot for maybe, the first 8-10 episodes. Then I remember they had a winter break and when they came back, I was completely confused. I ended up bailing after that, but I'd check in every now and then to see if things had improved any. Which they hadn't.
  17. I watched this on HBO Max this morning and thought it was ok. Spectacular to look at, but also strangely inert. I didn't mind the abrupt ending, which was very shades of Fellowship of the Ring. The performances were fine, but the character development was so lacking that I didn't feel like I had a character to "hold onto" in the narrative if you know what I mean. I think the reviewer in the Irish Times summed up my thoughts on this movie: I did appreciate Jason Momoa in his role as Duncan. Wish we'd seen more of him - and Josh Brolin too.
  18. Just started watching this to tide me over till Death in Paradise comes back for series 11. So far, the chief character, Ines, is my favorite.
  19. I adore that episode. It's the kind of thing only a show with a cast that knows each other really well can pull off. I liked those Vic Fontaine episodes a lot more than I expected to.
  20. The only thing that might work for me is if Neville reveals his feelings, but eventually realizes that he confused close friendship with romantic love. Then he and Florence put that behind them and continue being colleagues/friends.
  21. This really does bug me. It's 2021 for heaven's sake, not the 19th century.
  22. Same here. I loved Jack and Florence's friendship. He was as happy as anyone about her engagement. And he was always keen to give her - and the rest of the team - credit for solving a case. I also liked the misdirection they did with Jack's departure. I thought he was going to leave with Anna, the woman he met on Saint Marie. But he just ended up going home to be with his daughter. I too am not loving the idea of a Neville and Florence pairing. It's unnecessary and a bit of a distraction.
  23. I might take this Death in Paradise Tour in Guadeloupe once bookings open up again.
  24. Tiny Winey reminds me of being a kid and hearing it on my parents' record player. It's a classic in our house!
