  1. I listened to Tyler Shultz's podcast that he did for Audible. It's pretty intense. He recounts in great detail the threats and intimidation Theranos threw at him. @Johnny Dollar is exactly right that Elizabeth, Sunny, and their lawyers put Erika, Tyler, and so many more through hell.
  2. LisaGay Hamilton is always wonderful, but she’s especially so in this series. When she began her story about Sicily, I just smiled. Loved all of Judith and John’s scenes. Sunny yelling at people annoys me. He is such an insecure person. Felt so bad for Tyler and Erika. I like that they at least have each other to lean on and talk to. The way they both jumped at a random sound was heartbreaking. Thank God for Charlotte. Tyler would've been screwed without her because George was giving no help. One thing I don’t understand is why couldn’t Elizabeth pivot to something that was workable? Why did she keep going with this technology that wasn’t working after years of trying? Speaking of weird chants, I wondered if we’d be getting the “Fuck you, Carreyrou” chant, and sure enough we did. Bizarre, like so much of this story. Dr. Gardner is so great. She has zero patience for Elizabeth and her delusions.
  3. That part. A few reviews have complained about the lack of sex scenes this season, but I'm definitely in the camp that loves an almost kiss. Hell, just the way Anthony and Kate look at each other is intense. Besides, explicit sex scenes don't always equal sexiness.
  4. The comment that hit me was one of the servants asking Anthony what he wanted to do with his father's body. His father was a living, breathing person only moments before. Did you have to start referring to him as a body so soon. Damn. Agree that the way the doctor disregarded Violet during her giving birth was maddening.
  5. I actually enjoyed their almost-kisses and longing looks. Took me back to my days of watching daytime soaps, which were always good for the slow-burn, will-they-won't-they romances.
  6. Whew! Kate and Anthony were so damn hot all season long. Agree with others who have said that they didn’t need a ton of sex scenes; the slow burn of their relationship is what made it so delicious to watch. That plus the angst and pathos made this romance *chef’s kiss* And yes, much more engaging than Daphne and Simon. Speaking of Daphne, the sparing use of her this season was perfect. I particularly liked that her spidey sense went up about Kate/Anthony. And of course, her telling Anthony about himself was great to see. I laughed a lot this season at Anthony and Kate thinking they were hiding their feelings. Like, every time he looked at her, his desire was obvious. In the dance scene mentioned here, the rest of the party seemed to leave the dance floor because they were like “we don’t want to intrude on these two/they need to get a room” I love their relationship. And I really enjoyed Benedict this season. He’s funny, but also very insightful and kind when it comes to his siblings. I can’t believe this show made me cry! Mary and Kate’s scene was so lovely. I was tearing up throughout. Also teared up when Violet came to tell Anthony that Kate was awake. He looked like he was about to break but was still trying to hold himself together because…that’s what he does; it’s what he’s supposed to do. Re Penelope/LW – I like Penelope, but I kind of wish we hadn’t already been told she’s Lady Whistledown (I haven’t read the books) It complicates the story and not in a fun way. I just don’t like see Penelope being sad and mopey all the time. Can she be more than that? Also, STFU, Colin. Penelope is NOT beneath you. Ass. The Queen saying, “Are they not?” to the Featheringtons about Kate and Anthony was delightful.
  7. When I watched this scene yesterday, I said out loud "Right there, out in the open? Okaaaaay."
  8. This episode was really good. I've followed this story since about 2018, so I pretty much know all the story beats that are coming, but I still think the show is doing a good job of crafting the narrative. The juxtaposition of Elizabeth and Sunny in bed with Erika agonizing over sending the email was perfect. Elizabeth and Sunny are really in their own world. The actors playing Erika and Tyler are doing a great job. Their confrontation scene with Sunny gave me a knot in my stomach. Laurie Metcalf is absolutely wonderful as Phyllis Gardner. I've watched a few interviews with Dr. Gardner, and the casting couldn't be more perfect.
  9. Not gonna lie: this episode had a lot of triggers for me. I’ve definitely sat in an all-hands meeting and heard a CEO say “If you’re not with me, you should just leave;" and been discouraged from talking to co-workers about work. So this episode gave me workplace PTSD flashbacks. This episode reinforced how many people enabled Elizabeth’s BS, not just Sunny. I’m really enjoying the cast. In particular, some of the recurring actors (Alan Ruck as Jay Rosan, James Hiroyuki Liao as Edmund Ku) have stood out.
  10. This episode solidified for me that Alan Ruck is a national treasure.
  11. What was the tone of The Chelsea Detective - light or more gritty? I like Adrian Scarborough, so I want to check it out, but I'm not looking for anything too dark or dour.
  12. I really liked this opening episode. It was great getting re-introduced to these characters. So, Raffi is back in Starfleet. Did not see that coming. And Elnor is a cadet? Interesting. Guinan and Picard's scene was like no time had passed. Loved seeing them together. Q has always annoyed me, but I really loved when he showed up at the end. Picard's "No, no, no, no, no" was amusing.
  13. Roman Abramovich confirms Chelsea are for sale and writes off £1.5bn loans Russia suspended from all Fifa and Uefa competitions until further notice
  14. I am curious who will end up buying the team.
  15. You're right! I'm getting my Brit-centric streaming services mixed up!
  16. I thought the first couple of episodes were pretty meh, but the show improves considerably in subsequent episodes. The cast seems to gel and mysteries get more interesting. Has anyone watched Murder in Provence in Acorn on BritBox ? It's on my watchlist, but I'm still going through Rosemary & Thyme. Agree with others who have said My Life is Murder is just ok. I expected to like it a lot more than I did.
  17. Agreed. They should've left well enough alone.
  18. Cosgrove is insufferable. Surprised to see Jamie Ross. I thought she was shown as a judge at some point. Kind of a basic case. I kept waiting for a twist. Price and Maroun are very bland, but maybe they'll improve. Not sure I will stick around for that, though.
  19. I haven't seen season 11 yet, but I did wonder if Florence was leaving again since they brought in the new DS. That said, I'm disappointed that Florence has been written out again, as I really like Josephine Jobert.
  20. I used to adore figure skating, but this is the main reason I stopped watching it after the 2010 Olympics. The jumps weren't the reason I was drawn to the sport. ETA: Thomas Bach can fuck right off. He has shown time and time again that he doesn't care about athletes' wellbeing, so his comments ring very hollow.
  21. I really enjoyed it. Loved seeing everyone together again. If that was the series finale, it was a solid sendoff. And I do hope Goodfellow takes his investigator exams and replaces that sour Mallory. Agreed, although I do enjoy the chemistry between them. This bugged me. This show - and others - need to let that trope die.
  22. Just started this show on BritBox. I like it so far. This is my third cozy mystery show in the last few months (after Death in Paradise and Father Brown). I guess I'm going to make my way through all these now.
  23. Yep. After watching seasons 1-10, I marvel that it's still such a popular tourist destination!
  24. And Cabot Cove. Or the Caribbean island of Saint Marie 😆
