  1. "I'll let Jackie know you were asking about her. She appreciates that the regular people still remember her" - I am mangling the line but that was so so great.
  2. Brittany: Law Roach has styled so many celebrities - Zendaya, Kerry Washington Me: Okay, 2. Then I listen to his opinions and...yeah, no. I liked CFDA guy better. I never identified with Brandon Maxwell so much as when he said he went up X number of floors and then had to go back down and get out of there. Props to the camera crew for not letting themselves be seen - that took some work.
  3. Article on the new season - spoilers on some locations. If you want to see the trailer, use Chrome (or a Chrome derivative) as your browser: Amazing Race is back!

I keep waiting for Terry to mention if Donnell Whittenburg is related to his old teammate Derrick, considering that both are from Maryland but not as far as I’ve watched….
  5. How they did not mention previous judge Johnny Weir in any of those peacocking discussions/examples is beyond me. I mean, it's one thing to wear those clothes on a red carpet and another to wear them while covering sports (yes, granted, it's figure skating but c'mon...). Anyway. Brittany got really lucky with her model because that outfit was almost clown not peacock. Laurence skated by again with something that wasn't much of anything. But the right person went home.
  6. Ortegas at least has watched The Empire Strikes Back - and apparently no one else has. Seriously, zombie movies over “and then we just float away”/“with the rest of the garbage.” Erica and Han Solo would be propping up a bar somewhere, telling tall tales of who’s the better pilot. I like NuScotty but I swear, if there’s a young country doctor held hostage on the Gorn ship, I give up. Me too. La’an can’t die at the hands of the Gorn because
  7. For all we know, Pike has some ensign chopping up mesquite for a grill.
  8. I want to see the episode where someone turns it “back” into the non Barbie version and how they picked what to keep. I also really didn’t want that outcome!
  9. Thank you for this. Primetimer is a hot mess on mobile Safari and Opera seems to stop it. Hurray!
  10. I hated the Buffy musical and I didn’t like this one either. I’m at the “just no” table…however, so many of them can really sing. Christina Chong is releasing singles so she definitely wants the music career. I feel really slow on the uptake, only now realizing La’an’s ancestor will be part of the reason David Marcus dies. (And yet another problem with SNW vs TOS)
  11. It was very MASH - the constant "incoming transport" instead of "incoming wounded," the tents, the shelling, the way Chapel arrived and was thrown right in. I know it's a difference in age, but you could read M'Benga as like Col Potter, who went into the Army as a soldier then became a doctor (I guess?).
  12. I looked at that green wall and thought "somone podcasting, I'll bet." It looks like a greenscreen wall. That whole situation was really not well explained although the agent was a hoot. One's going to Manchester for a fashion degree?

Yes. No one comes off looking good, at least to me. I don't know why they agreed to it (maybe they got some tiny appearance fee). The team name is unfortunate, too. Really, they couldn't come up with an acronym that WASN'T DMV???

So Breaking the Ice - wow, it’s not exactly making someone want to skate.
  15. Two of Wolf’s daughters are named Olivia and Sarina, and son Elliot per IMDB. The other kids are Rex and Zoe, who haven’t gotten characters.
  16. Anson Mount, most of all, and the cast make this show and remain the reason I watch. Even through complete damage to the timeline, this weird making the Vulcans into jerks (it’s like the hatred for the Jedi in SW), and the unfortunate making of these adults into really weird teenagers at points. Although the women running “Spock School” was funny. I did want to see Charades. Does Pike have his cooking videos on Federation TikTok? Mount was hilarious, trying to navigate that dinner. Spock making the tea and T’Pring telling him to slow down to let the tea make properly is every pour over coffee YouTube I’ve ever seen. Is there a Vulcan James Hoffman somewhere? So there’s a moon in the Vulcan system with a wormhole and none of them have investigated? Huh? Glad Christine told Officious Jerk off.
  17. And Anthony is, of course, on the Barbie Dream House Challenge, which starts on HGTV Sunday July 16 at 8.

Yes, I've seen ep 1. I don't know how ep 2 will go but 1 was really Dance Moms on Ice but with less drama. All the parents together, the kid who doesn't want to be there. I started laughing when she said "show me your axels" and then we get a sequence of jumps, most of which are not axels.
  19. The discussion about fixed points in time…where’s the Doctor when you need him/her? That was the smallest group of people hanging around a major disaster and not filming, ever. Tungunska! is Krycek still there…the Romulan masquerading as a conspiracy obsessed person was a nice X-Files riff as well. I realized belatedly that the Noonien-Singh institute looked like the TV Flash’s institute - was Flash shot in Toronto or Vancouver? Hey, Jim, big sign saying Toronto over your shoulder, want to try again?
  20. The CGI in Indy 5 is a complete recreation and a long sequence, and there is a lot of other CGI. They were able to do it because they had all that footage from the other Indy films and from the Star Wars Original Trilogy, from what I’ve read. If they wanted to de-age Harrison a bit (doesn’t look like they are), it’s not budget breaking. Apple could fish that much money out of the executive suite’s couch cushions. They’re doing similar things to Indy with Hamill on Mandalorian, so it’s feasible. But there’s easier ways with makeup to make him look younger.
  21. I was watching Ridley and thinking "I KNOW THAT VOICE" and there she was (she's in a mask in her first scenes). US folks, it's on PBS now.
  22. I was holding out for Robbie to come down to Oxford…maybe that’s why Lewis took the post far from Newcastle. I still want my Young Lewis (Robbie?) show - I held my breath that he wasn’t the adoptee. I’m not sure the time lines up…if Robbie’s a copper in 1972 through to 2000 something, that’s a long career. They did explain why Morse never mentioned Thursday again but I can’t remember if Strange is married in Morse. I saw Remorseful Day not long ago and I really want to see more of their later relationship, now after this. Why didn’t Joan have a maid of honor? I hate how Thursday went out but I’m happy everyone lived, even ol’ Ronnie Box.
  23. So agree on the Olivet revelation years later!! Also love the detective work in this one - Mike and Lennie with the patrol guy in the Park was hilarious ("first year guys are like puppies"). Then them hitting the bars in the awful weather. Night and Fog reminds me of a first season Magnum (the original) that turns in a similar fashion. Right to Counsel - is that the knockoff Van Bulow or the one where the guy is so much younger? I get that title confused with the one where the guy from The Practice is the developmentally disabled perp who killed nurses but Lennie's old pal set him up (why can't I remember if the set up was him killing the nurses? And Rocket Romano from ER is in it (although at that point, I knew him from the movie Fame)).
  24. Or Jack McCoy from L&O as the other McCoy: "Damnit, Chris, I'm an attorney not an empath."
  25. I watched Decorating Cents! I'd forgotten her... For me, matchy matchy is Thom Felicia from OG Queer Eye - he loved saying it!
