  1. I saw "Seeds" again last night (tape delay) and once again wished Falacci had stayed as Logan's partner. They had a great snarky vibe together (and if the firefighters had beaten up Logan in front of her, she'd've shot a couple and pistol whipped the rest). I also still don't know why they didn't mention the older case (I stg they used the SAME ID NUMBER from the earlier ep of Mothership!)
  2. Suddenly it’s “mavity” and all I can think is the ( speculation for Who, spoiler for…)) Hmmmm…..
  3. Isn’t it crazy, @TVbitch & @peeayebee are discussing “pipped at the post,” I post Rich Strike at the Derby and what happens? Congrats to Matty! I am also so happy with Alison and Noel seems to be too. Great season.
  4. Hilary is leaving, seems like the show will continue? Who knows. Tough Love has not been renewed yet. Hilary exits
  5. One of my fave moments on an otherwise blah Mothership ep was Skoda and Olivet yelling at each other over a diagnosis (the Martha Stewart knockoff one, IIRC). There's another great Simmons moment - he's the news photographer who gets the footage of the riot going on in "Sanctuary." I hated that they did that to Olivet, that was one of the worst character ruining moments, topped by that nonsense with Jamie the first return season of the Mothership.
  6. The ep title should have been “The Detour should be vacuuming carpet.” I finally liked Robbin & Chelsea in the swan song. This has been a great TAR, and I like everyone left, even Todd and Ashlie. I hope they do get to assemble some IKEA furniture. That was a challenge one time IIRC.
  7. “Pipped at the post” is from UK horse racing, being caught at the end of the race and losing by a small margin. See Rich Strike winning the Derby. Start at 2:00: Rich Strike stunner I still call Josh Marty Matty and vice versa! I don’t know why. Was I the only one hoping the signer* would finally get to make a comment? At least he got to hug everyone. Do like this final three and I am so happy with Alison over Matt Lucas. Thanks for confirming there was no opening skit! edit - *I am not sure of the correct term edit again - damn autocorrect!
  8. Absolutely agree. The detective side was finally working so let's change it up? The legal side is what needs the overhaul. And the writer's room!

I just want someone to tell me what the deal is with "Rain in your black eyes."

The CBS piece on death on the ice from 1994: https://youtu.be/U-0B72qzkeQ?si=m0sIwdlg048QaTtL (Mark Philips is a very snarky Canadian who has been with CBS News since the 80s...) Also bonus sightings of Jill Trenary, Chris Bowman, Todd Eldredge...

It baffles me, considering I thought they banned knee things after Candeloro...I bet he's laughing now.
  13. I think you're right that it's "Censure," or maybe it's even later, that still has the 33rd, but I can't remember which one. It's on a "dun dun" timestamp screen. I know there are addresses that can't exist as well. Also, they seem to solve crimes up and down Manhattan, considering they're in the Upper West Side one day and down at Battery Park the next, although I think there was something about how homicides are worked, that it isn't confined to the precinct? A friend wrote a fanfic set around "Aftershock" and said that based on the dates, Claire is still alive after she's dead! I'm betting that if someone checked them all, many characters are still there after they leave. The dialogue censoring on WE is crazy (which would probably be censored!). Lennie is a cop far longer than he should be - considering that he graduated with the cop killed in the New Conn robbery (White Rabbit) and that's in '69 - but there's another wonky bit in that with the name they use on the safety deposit box and the timing. Logan says he was at anti war protests and I think he was too young for that (I think Noth wasn't, maybe, but isn't Logan is canonically younger?). (Then again, I think all TV writers failed basic math or were absent the day they taught how to figure time, because Lewis in the Inspector Morse series is now a rookie cop way earlier than he should be after the last Endeavour, and The X-Files was absolutely notorious for not figuring travel times correctly. And XF is in the same universe as L&O, due to Munch. As an aside, I swear I read that Noth was talked about as taking over from Mulder in season 8 - which begs the question as to whether that would have been as Logan).

I've watched her Insta, saw her on Skating Lesson and read various news reports, etc and there is no mention of what she's doing now, outside of skating. Per the NY Post, as of 2018, she was still with the guy and selling gold bars in what sounds like a MLM thing. But who knows?
  15. Another angle on the building - a YT iPhone reviewer takes the iPhone 15 and Pro and you can see the insanity of the place - start 2 minutes in, runs until 4:15: https://youtu.be/Z5Q8F2uBc2Y?si=iZPiTCSVDVKgalCr
  16. Drove me nuts... The detective side really has improved with the Shaw/Cosgrove team - I'm beginning to like Cosgrove when I couldn't stand him with Bernard (although we're never going to find out what happened to Lupo now!). Shaw's arrival just jumpstarted that whole side. The legal side, I agree, is in need of a similar jumpstart. I don't like any of the lawyers except Jack and they've had him do some questionable things too. I think the characters could be a bit better if the writing was - speaking of Censure, for example. At least Claire tried to tell Ben and Adam that she was compromised, while in Bias, Price never tells them half of what's going on. The legal cases aren't cited any more either. Like the detectives trawling through bars and down the mean streets, Jack citing precedents is sorely missed.
  17. I love the detective work in this one (the couple in the South Bronx with the wife who wrote down the license plate number!) and the lawyer from Miami is hilarious. Plus you get the conflict between the dad and Adam. I can't stand Curtis, he's my least fave of them all, ahead of even Detective Beauty Queen, if only because he's there longer. Falco gets a few points for telling Fontana "you're high maintenance." Yes, he is. Makes you wonder why they picked him for Rhoda's husband and if that wasn't why the show didn't make it. Censure has that great chase at Bethesda Fountain too. That's what I miss in modern L&O - too often the detective side relies on Detective Yee with the computer instead of Cosgrove and Shaw following leads on the street.
  18. Briscoe/Logan is my top team (I grew to really like Green and he was great with Briscoe, Fontana and Lupo. I also like Lupo/Bernard). Season 4 has a lot of great eps. I showed Profile to some friends who really weren't that familiar with L&O (I know, shocking) and they thought it was great - if I had to show someone L&O when it cooks, that's a top contender. Apocrypha's ending is just so chilling and sad. The best L&Os, you get involved in all the characters and that girl who bonds with Logan is terrific. Ones from 4 that I love so far not mentioned: Pride and Joy, Golden Years, Mayhem, Censure, Nurture.
  19. Late to court but…in the re enactments, am I wrong that Donna says something like “tell Ben” to Ben? (I have Hulu with ads and I am not sitting through those commercials one more time…)
  20. Yes. Although I wonder if, because they're starting to show people in their rentals (Christina did the same in one of her On the Coast eps this year), they're figuring the cost of being out of the house in there as well? It's like Nate and Jeremiah using marble all the time, the costs sometimes seem off. Also, why did the daughter want her room redone with that awkward way the bed and desk were set up? No way that giggling homeowner could do anything on that tiny desk - I stg I don't know who they are making these work from home offices for, because I have one and it has big desks and many monitors, not one tiny computer on an even tinier space (maybe it's because I watch too many home office set up vids on YT from tech people). And damp and mold!
  21. Odds of it all being back the way it was before Hillary started in, say, six months? I'd say even. I'm not even halfway through the episode and wow, was that homeowner oppositional. The giggling drove me crazy. Sure, they didn't have enough time to clear things out - I wonder if they were expecting the crew to just clear out the rest. That shed...so much stuff. Hilary may be short on the sugar but she clearly has patience. (also, I am so tired of that commercial...)
