  1. I think Lupo and Falco could mop the floor with Price and Maroun.
  2. This episode feels like it could’ve used a re-investigation and a showing of it. The detectives should’ve been shown testing the actual time and Nolan/Samantha should’ve been verifying the witness. After this, the detectives should’ve done a second investigation of the evidence or even interviewed the wife. (I will admit, did enjoy the final scene though). 2nd best episode of the season.
  3. I'd reckon it's less of a reboot but rather a spin off series. There's been enough time that has passed that they have a full new decade (2010 to 2024/5). I hope the cast is really good and I think Cold Case has a really great ensemble. I'll be honest though, Lilly would've made a lot more sense to come back considering where she ended, though I do love Danny Pino. I'd love to see how cases play out now though.
  4. Yes it's an exception, I think the legal issue here (which isn't seen in the show, outside of a comment "I found this [the hammer] in the trash]") is that it's not in plain view.. HOWEVER, the defended didn't have any reason to believe she had privacy there in a trash can owned by the two residents in the house. They should've argued that the defendant didn't live there anymore or something.. it's irritating to me for numerous reasons and it should've been explain a hell of a lot better in-show
  5. I think this episode was missing some scenes here, they should've at least spent some time looking for the beer with the print on it, would've been a nicer scene and I think could've flowed better. (Bar Scene -> Searching in trash -> getting the print match -> next suspect). Just realized that this is the first episode of the season Connie Shi [Detective Yee] wasn't here, (it seems she comes back next episode). Felt a little better than before.. Could've also added them talking to the scam lawyer and making a deal with him after he tries the immunity BS. Would've served the same purpose as them talking about what they did (rather than actually showing what they did). The hammer thing was also really dumb. Maybe if they'd shown us how they found the hammer (or had the detectives look for it themselves). The whole hammer thing is so stupid. How bad of a ADA do you have to be to lose the murder weapon in your case. It's a crime scene, how the hell would they even get a warrant from the suspect in the case, when it's obviously she fled the scene. I can't even.. There's gotta be a list of the worst motion losses and I expect the top.. ~15 to be between these two screw-ups who couldn't win a motion if the ghost of Ben Stone possessed their bodies. Baxter needs to start biting their heads off every time they lose a motion, or keeping score. They should not be going at a 90% motion loss rate. On a brighter side.. When Baxter told Sam to step up and do her part, I really did enjoy that. She's spent the past couple of episodes meandering about. All in all, I liked the episode but like always it could've been better. Baxter is really starting to become likable, McCoy seemed to be too soft where he was and wasn't exactly pushing either of them to do better.
  6. 59th St, probably not (the station isn’t the real 59th St - Columbus Circle, it looks like the abandoned Canal St or Bowery Stations on the J line.). I forgot what time the start of the episode is but if it’s late enough it’s likely you can be the only person there in the station besides a couple of the homeless. I just don’t think 59th (which is a really busy station due to its transfer to another line) , or even any station along Central Park West would be empty unless it’s 3-5am.
  7. I'm gonna wait until the season ends give verdict (maybe a little into next season) on Baxter. But he's definitely going into the like column for now. I just won't be able to stand seeing Nolan harping over Baxter's opinion and instruction for another episode while Samantha.. Maroun's about..
  8. Agreed. No duo should ever remind me to horrors that was Borgia/McCoy or Kincaid/Stone.
  9. I think this episode would've benefitted from more police work being done or the police side being seen. The detectives should've found that girl themselves as soon as it was brought up, Dixon should've been with Baxter in the meeting. The detectives should've actually found out that the man was an undercover cop. it's little things like that that made L&O feel fuller and more investigative. By the end it should feel like all the pieces are coming together.
  10. Not sure if I agree with everyone here, I thought this episode was fine on both halves. The Undercover Cop reveal was a really good twist. I think the scene at Counterterrorism could've used Dixon in it (like cmon guys), but all in all I liked it. I'm actually surprised there was no vigilante justice here, or even protests on the courthouse steps. Nolan showed heart this episode but I'm really starting to like Baxter. The legal half was better imo, but I thought this episode was good. I also don't seem to have an issue with the opening? It was a discovery of a body like normal, just a different circumstance.
  11. I think they're the luckiest duo to ever be on the show. There's no way in hell they should be winning this many cases. I didn't any pairing could be as dry, confusing or unlikable as Stone-Kincaid. But here they are.. ~2.5 seasons later... sigh. Seriously what kind of ADA can't get a 3 second accidental answering of a phone call be seen as an accident and not fruit from the poisonous tree? (what kind of fucking cell phone automatically opens the phone when it's answered? Like what? Does this mean that if I can find your phone number I can call your phone, unlock it and get whatever I want out of it. It's not the police's fault you have horrible security for your phone. If I had a phone that had no password and the police secured the scene, someone calls my phone and the officer picks my phone up and hangs up does that mean I can get the evidence thrown out because they didn't have a subpoena at the time? It's a horrible precedent to make at the very least. And since when does a sworn officer affidavit-- The fucking officer doesn't even know the case...) Other notes: I found the Law section pretty boring and stale considering the conflict in the second half. Lt. Dixon felt off in this episode (like she was lost or something). I was half-expecting Baxter to be in the first half of the episode after he was there before the credits.. Speaking of before the credits it felt like the writers was trolling us by having a chase scene before the credits. It got a laugh out of me i'll admit but.. eh? the Order is the stronger part of the episode despite how it plays out, I thought it was good drama for Baxter's first episode. I hope they do more with Samantha next episode though. Again I'm not sure if anybody knows how to write a court scene anymore, or like.. looked at case law...
  12. Thought it was a really good episode with a strong performance by Brooks (he’s the best actor in the cast right now and I hope they keep him for a while). I’m glad they focused on the police side a lot and Shaw’s duality as a cop and a black man is incredibly showing. I really hope the legal side picks up soon with the DA (also the chase was definitely in Brooklyn and not Manhattan like they want us to think it was. We can see the Williamsburg bridge, and Bedford Avenue in the background… whatever)
  13. I totally forgot to mention this, but Price should’ve taken the deal 1000% when it was offered. I agree that 10 years is lenient for a killer but the defense couldve made the defendant look so badly infront of the jury he shouldn’t have taken the chance there. Price being surprised that there was going to be a self defense plea is the dumbest thing; why would he not think that would be the defense? Do they not have motions anymore? It’s actually funny how his reaction is “the defense can’t claim self defense without evidence”, like they somehow teleported to the trial or something is so unreasonable as self defense. Was he expecting an insanity defense or something dumb?
  14. This episode is good. Just feels like it needs a bit more meat on the bones, and a better finish? I did find it weird that they didn't find Shaver to be a perv/pedo sooner. I really hope they give Connie Shi an also starring credit because the girl's been in like every episode since the second episode of Season 22. I don't even think Profaci was given this much screen time. I like the conflict in the episode, I just don't feel the emotions. They should've driven home how terrible Shaver's actions were, and the defense attorney should've been all over that, and made him plead the fifth or have him confess on the stand to a different crime. Felt too safe for me.
  15. I think for at least the very last part of the episode that Nolan would've opened the door and the defense would've testified how the tape could've been a deepfake. I'm pretty sure they would have to present the tape to evidence and there's no way the defendant wouldn't want to check it's authenticity. It's up to the prosecutor to make sure that there is no reasonable doubt and I think the tape being deepfaked is a reasonable thing to think of considering that AI is involved in the prosecution. He should've been acquitted off of the fact that another viable suspect brought in the evidence indicting him. I would've liked Nolan a lot better if he tanked this one because of his morals. Way better episode than last week though. They gotta stop with these chase scenes, it should be like once every three episodes.
