  1. In my experience (personal and professional), children are far more resilient than what most adults give them credit for. My husband left for a little over a year (he had an extended work trip to a different country) when my daughter was 2.5 years old. She was kinda “meh” over the whole thing but she was used to him being gone every week for work (he would come home most weekends). And FYI, she has a fantastic relationship with him. I was raised in a similar situation and am extremely close to my father. Just because a parent isn’t around doesn’t mean the child is going to have issues or is missing out on something.
  2. I'm not commenting directly towards you but more as a comment on what I've seen several people state. There is a general disdain towards Ericka with several people mentioning that she "left" her son with his father so she could go off and try to reach her dreams. If Ericka was a man, we wouldn't bat an eye. Nobody thinks any less of a man if he travels or leaves his children with their mother so he can become a successful businessman or even join a circus. But if a woman does it then SHAME upon her. Why does a woman have to forego her dreams but it is acceptable for a man to do it? Now, I don't follow super close but it doesn't seem like he was mistreated or that she left him with a drug addict or anything. It still seems like he had a good childhood and he obviously has a good relationship with her if he lives with her now.
  3. Yep to all that. I've never worked in a substance abuse center but I've worked in both inpatient rehabs and psychiatric facilities and it is a general CMS (Medicare) requirement that the need of care has to be at the level of requiring inpatient care. Same with home health services. You can't get home health just because it is more convenient for you. You have to actually be homebound. Streamlining those regulations to go across service types made it a lot easier for all of us who might work in multiple settings. Private insurance almost always follows Medicare regulations. Lu has been self-medicating for awhile. So is Sonja, IMO (and I'm side-eyeing Ramona too). The only ones that I don't really wonder about having a drinking problem at Bethenny and Carole.
  4. I'm not going to get into the morality issue of one night stands. I worry about the behavior from a safety point. There are all sorts of crazies out there that prey on women that engage in that type of behavior. There is also the threat of STDs (and don't come at me with the safe sex argument because condoms don't provide 100% protection against all STDs). 67% of the world population has herpes. Forget asking about whether or not a guy is married. I'm more concerned about whether or not he plans to murder me, rob me, and give me an STD.
  5. Thank God for burglars with high standards. Nobody wants a stained Birkin.
  6. Somebody else mentioned this but there is a possibility that the Housewives might not be able to comment on current happenings while the season is filming. I'm one of those who will typically speak out against drunk people just because I have issues with drunk people (yay being related to alcoholics!). I have always felt that Sonja has serious issues with alcohol and needed rehab several seasons ago. Dorinda worries me too and she is an ANGRY drunk. I'd leave the room the minute I saw her with liquor. Bethenny seems to drink but I've always gotten the idea that she was better in control of it than the others. She seems to go to tipsy and then just stay there. As far as everyone commenting on the skinny dipping... Enh, Americans are prudes about nudity. I don't equate going topless with being dangerously drunk. If so, most of the people in my compound are always drunk then. LOL. As far as the Housewives in Mexico... They were in a private estate (yes, it was being filmed but they also know that stuff would be blurred). They weren't running around on a public street or in a bar with their tops off.
  7. I love Dubrow but that house is not my taste. I think there could be some simple design changes that would warm it up significantly and make it a bit more homey.
  8. Am I the only one that thinks it is strange that nobody has quoted or even referenced the filing documents to this court petitioning? I've gone through multiple sites and they all just reference "multiple sites" as their source. Normally they will at least reference the filing documents to give some additional details to the article.
  9. Tamara Tattles has an... interesting take on this. So, she has picked up the whole "something was slipped in Lu's drink and something untoward happened towards her" angle but she is buying it hook, line, and sinker. She says Lu is distraught over this and remembers nothing of that night. If you go through the comment section, it is filled with people praying for Lu, cheering her on, and affirming that she was roofied. While GHB can make some people violent, it isn't a common reaction (or else it would be the world's worst date rape drug ever).
  10. I was right there with y'all too. I don't find drunkenness cute or funny or entertaining.
  11. OMG! I love that idea! It would absolutely drive Vicki nuts if Meghan got a spin-off. I'm happy for Meghan and Jimmy. I know how much Meghan wanted a boy for Jimmy and now they will have two!
  12. Women don't belong to men. We aren't objects for y'all to collect.
  13. I don't think any of us are saying whether or not it is her own fault. To reference the point I made, some people who have been poor (for whatever reason at whatever point in their life) become very careful with their money as a result. They remember what it was like to be poor and become very frugal as a result. Other people (I use RHOA's Kim as an example) blow their money because they never learned how to manage their money. Tamra probably could have very easily taken out a huge mortgage and bought a $5-7 million mansion but she instead chose a place that was more realistic.
  14. Enh, it once operated as a bed and breakfast so I doubt she will convert it back to one. She probably just wanted a larger place that was closer to town. She got a great deal on it.
  15. I think Tamra is one of those people that remembers what it was like to be poor and as a result, she is very frugal with her money. Whereas, other people just go mad and spend money like crazy and go broke within a couple of years (looking at you, RHOA's Kim).
  16. I think part of the reason why she turned down the demotion was due to the fact that you don't really make enough money to justify the trouble of filming when you are a FOH. Also, there was the concern about Kelly (legit) and Vicki (also legit) and the impact that association would have on Terry's career and their general reputation.
  17. We were looking closer to the coast. My husband wanted Santa Monica but I was wanting OC. A bigger part of the problem is that I'm Southern so I'm used to big houses with higher-end finishes at the cheaper price.
  18. I'm actually surprised it is so cheap. SoCal is not cheap. My husband and I looked at moving out there a couple of years ago before moving overseas and it didn't look like we could get anything under $1 million that wasn't a bit scary looking or in a bad part of town.
  19. I didn't. I don't like truffles and they were 20 dirhams (so around $5 USD).
  20. I found SkinnyGirl truffles in my Waitrose (grocer) in Dubai!
  21. To me, the difference is in the intent behind it. To me, Heather never did it to make other people feel less than and she was also legitimately wealthy. She loved her champagne and I think she was kind of tickled by the idea of a champs button in her closet. Whereas Peggy is doing it more of a "Look at me! Look at me!" (which, IMO, comes from insecurity and probably faking the wealth). It is just disingenuine coming from Peggy.
  22. I'm watching now and at the end and I just want to throw something at the Vicki on my screen. Ugh. There is nothing redeeming about her. She did participate in a cancer scam. She made up crap. She said she took him to chemo. She made up a visit by Terry to insert an IV. She is scum.
  23. Yeah, our transportation government agency runs Uber. So, the private cars, taxis, and Ubers are all the same company. If you are good, you move up from a taxi to an Uber and then to a private car/limo. So, there is incentive to be good!
