Well at least the insipid Maggie and annoying hunters cluttering up the bunker are dead. Thanks Michael 👏🏻

So episodes are back to everyone being stupid again. 🙄 Still, we had a good run for 3 episodes.... Bye Michael. You never really had a chance to shine, not with with these writers.

Where I live you're stopped almost immediately for not wearing seat belts. How did she manage to drive one-handed with her boobs up in her face for 4 hours? It looked so uncomfortable. And the scanty outfits! Thank goodness she doesn't live in the icy north. She seemed like the type of person who wanted everything on display. The episode was as dull and formulaic as the others have been this season. I guess it's wrong of me to want more fireworks and craziness, but I can't help it. And none of the obese have been particularly likeable. I don't find myself rooting for them. I guess as this is a show about gastric bypass surgery and not gender surgery that is what they focused on. But her gender identity didn't seem to bother her or cause depression or anxiety or anything. Everyone in her family apparently accepted her. She had friends. Even her weight didn't seem a big deal either. She hadn't tried dieting or anything. I think, as others have said, that she wanted to be on TV. Unfortunately she lacked a personality. Probably a nice person in RL and I wish her well.

S09.E04: Bahama Drama
Pondlass1 replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Someone should tell Production that if they're going to manufacture drama they need to come up with something more entertaining than puppygate and text printouts. Everyone is talking in riddles (and trying for Emmys). Only Camille asked the obvious question. The darting stink eyes at the dinner table was pretty funny, tho. Great camera work, guys. But find a more interesting tagline. (I guess they can't run with Dorit and PK's messy finances ?) -
A drug addict on the show Intervention said she wouldn't ever stop taking drugs even though they were killing her because sober life was too difficult to contemplate. It's the same with the morbidly obese. Food or drugs take away reality - which always bites - and it's so much easier to just stick another donut in your mouth and forget the outside world and all its troubles. They all need therapy more than anything. They are stuck in childhood and unable to face stress or hardship. Unlike the rest of us who must deal every day without a crutch. No one said life was going to be easy.

Sadly they view eating healthy food as some kind of terrible punishment.

It always amazes me that these women have boyfriends. And those boyfriends wipe their butts and only want to please. They get them the food because they love them and don't want to upset them. Why can't I find boyfriends like this? I'd starve to death if I sat about yelling for food to be brought to me. Yuck! he sat right down in that wheelchair after she admitted she'd just peed herself. It was the only WTF moment in another dull episode. The series needs a shake up and change of formula. It's same shit different obese.

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
Pondlass1 replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
Sam and Dean did not grow up in 'our' world. Their's is a very different world with monsters and angels and easy credit card fraud. Child Protective Services (or whatever you have in the US) would've been checking up on John in my world and probably taking his boys away to foster care (heaven forbid!) I never compare their world to the one I live in. -
Ain't that the truth! What is it that president said? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. They keep putting the same perilous plot before us to build suspense, but nothing ever happens and never any consequences. Give us something original and fresh, Andrew! We've done the sacrifice thing one too many times.

Why do folk in horror stories never closed the curtains? There's a maniac outside in the snow killing people in horrible ways and you're inside with all the lights on and the curtains wide open!! This happens in almost all horror, along with people doing stupid things to advance the plot. So annoying. I haven't seen season 1 but did binge season 2. The story could've been told in 6 episodes as it dragged a little at times. But it did keep me guessing right up until the end and I liked the flashbacks scenario. We learned a little bit each time we saw a flashback and it changed our perception of events. Mostly good acting. But shut those damn curtains when it's dark outside!!! So annoying.

Well, the CBGB story was thrown in by writers during the 'whitewashing' John era. But actually it works for me. John would not want Dean socializing or being in a position where he could become attached to anyone else and break away from the fold. Dean belonged to John. John needed Dean way more than Dean needed John. Dean could get killed by a monster, but no woman (or man) in a nightclub was going to take his son away from him. John was bastard. Way more of a bastard than the infamous Negan actually because it was his own flesh and blood that he sent into danger. But it made for good TV (IMO). Everything's like a wishy-washy soap opera nowadays.

I don't usually watch promos or look at the photos, but I did just glance at these and I laughed. Couldn't they have found a longer bed for Dean? His legs hang over the end.

I think I leave this recording on my PVR and if I'm ever tempted I'll re-watch those scenes of Holly's tongue darting in and out like a snake as she shoved food into her mouth. Who could eat after seeing that? Worse than the horrific shower scenes. Many of these overweight folk seem to have dogs. The poor things must never get taken out for walks. Anyway, best wishes to Holly. Hope she makes it.

I only watched the first bit - but we saw her get into a small green car and drive all over town to get her junk food fix. But the rental car - which looked to be the same size more or less - she got stuck and fell? I guess the camera team filming the fun & games are not allowed to intervene or help?

S09.E02: Eat Your Heart Out
Pondlass1 replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
They're always filmed either at restaurants or some kind of get together with plates and plates and plates of food. And none of them eat a thing. As a woman ages, I think being a little plump helps with wrinkles and that crepe-like skin texture on arms and legs. -
So do I. And bloody brilliant actors in the roles too. I honestly don't mind that John was a bastard. It made for good television and a change from the usual fare. I didn't ever want explanations or apologies. Life isn't that way. Writing was good, we saw the arguments and we witnessed the sacrifices. The family dynamic was screwed to hell but still fascinating (to me, anyway). And we learned why Dean was the way he was. But now John's been whitewashed along with the rest of them. I'm assuming they'll have him skipping through the tulips like a floaty ghost in the final episode.

If there's a spin-off I'd gobble up, it would be the tragic journey of John and his sons after Mary's death. John's descent into alcohol soaked revenge, Dean growing up fast and becoming father and protector overnight. Dad learning about monsters and monster lore. Dean in training to fight, shoot, stab, cook, steal, all the while being a dad to a brother (and to his own dad). If only they could find the right actors and, more importantly, the right writers. But alas it's just a pipe dream

Fingers crossed for future ratings. The long hiatus and warmer weather usually means lower ratings. I've become used to watching whole seasons of shows on Netflix when I want. It's hard to go back to once a week with 20 mins of ads. Hope we don't see any 3's or - heaven forbid - 2's.

I guess the American crew filming in Vancouver and our own Texan boys are now well versed in centigrade temps and kilometres and gas by the litre. Not to mention Canada's colourful money.

I can’t relate to Fahrenheit temps. 😳 But winter is too long in Ontario and sometimes I wish we’d emigrated to Australia ☀️

S01.E08: This Young Woman Fought Like Hell
Pondlass1 replied to Door County Cherry's topic in Dirty John
Nature versus nurture is interesting. John was trained by his father to be a scammer but he had to be that way inclined in terms of personality traits and character. Zero empathy, zero guilt, etc. Not having a conscience is scary and a danger to those around you. However his sister didn’t turn out that way and she too was exposed to the father’s cons on a daily basis. And then there’s Debra who unfortunately inherited a great big wallop of her mother’s ‘love and forgiveness’ DNA. It would have been interesting to have some knowledge of the early marriages and why they broke up. I would have thought she’d be a man’s dream wife. Wealthy, attractive and – most of all – naive in the extreme when it came to trusting her partner. Thankfully her daughters apparently did not inherit the mother’s gullible and trusting ways. Monsters walk among us. And the meek probably will not inherit the earth.
