I guess there just ain’t enough zombies

i think everyone in the writing room was high when they wrote season 8A. It made zero sense. Sam would look for Dean. He’d done just that in the episode Time After Time a few episodes ago. However 8B Hit a bit close to home. Sam was green eyed jealous. He did not like that Dean found a friend. His guilt especially strong after Kevin and Amelia he was in full blown jealous rage with Dean. He shackled an unconscious Dean to a radiator for Pete’s sake. It fit with everything for me. Sam wants Dean to himself. Just like the days in motels when John was gone and all he had was Dean. People say it’s Dean that’s needy. I think it’s Sam. And that’s ok. These guys are broken and screwed to hell. It’s what’s kept me tuned in all these years. Who wants to see human perfection?

S09.E11: Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?
Pondlass1 replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I'm sure there are other Brits at this site. The humour is very different. Watch any Brit sitcom and compare to American. Many US sitcoms are copied from British versions and the characters totally softened up so's not to upset anyone. It's not just Ricky - I'm British and that's how folks are. The humour touches nerves. The fakey fake folk have to grow a skin. I don't like Denise's F-bombs all over the place either. Especially as my TV beeps every time which is even more annoying than hearing the dreaded word. But it is kinda fascinating that Denise's forehead moves and - horrors - wrinkles as she talks. No one else's does. Puppy-gate is lasting forever and is about everything but the dumped puppy. Dorit did a good job deflecting and they're all at each other's throats while she sits wide eyed and didn't do nothing y'all. For some reason I've always thought Boy George was short. He's actually quite tall... not just the stupid hat of course. Is he going to be a new housewife? -
Oh Gosh... there's absolutely NOTHING to watch on TV these days. I'm trying to get into Killing Eve, but it's getting sillier by the episode.

This will probably be the weakest season finale of all. Not even a marionette dance to give us a smile.

When the police raided that place, wouldn't they have a ring of officers outside. And when they saw she wasn't in that room surely they'd quickly check all other rooms. It just seemed so silly that Eve wandered slowly along the hall like a mute loony while armed police stood about scratching their heads. And the tie in the lift. It's always so conveniently empty of other people. And the fact he stood there right by the door gaping at her while she pulled out his tie. People move to the back wall when entering a lift and he was already tired of her so why did he let her pull out his tie without grabbing it out of her hands and shoving her away. Then the lipstick. I get that there's supposed to be this sick attraction between them... but who would put on suspect lipstick. Not me. Ir looked cool on camera I guess so they ran with it. But still very silly. When it starts to get beyond stupid I start to tune out. It was bad enough with that long noisy shoot-out in the fields of Surrey the other season. I live in England - that could never happen without hoards of people and police arriving within seconds. Gun shots are rare in the English countryside. I like tension and I like the premise, but make it a bit more believable guys.... in fact that would add to the tension I'd think. The acting is brilliant. Especially the two leading ladies. But less fantasy would improve things... for me anyway. 🙂

I agree. The CW targets younger audiences - but that demo isn't interested in waiting a week and watching live. They want access to their show any time they feel like watching. It's the older demo that continue to tune in each week because it's what they've always done. The landscape of network TV is changing almost over night. There will be casualties and I agree I agree The CW will be the first to go down probably.

Has anyone clocked the amount of Michael Dean screen time we got for the whole season? It has to be around 15-20 minutes in total. Both Demon Dean and Purgatory Dean got longer I think - and Mark of Cain Dean the longest of all (still hoping there's traces left). Jensen was cheated out of a character we waited ten years to see. And then when he did surface - he really did nothing. His monster army went nowhere. What a waste. I'm still seething for Jensen. 😡

These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers
Pondlass1 replied to catrox14's topic in Supernatural
Yes - angel zombies. Makes sense. I wonder if Dean still has his Lucille? We might get a good fight scene but zombies are done to death these days. -
Who were the hunters at the wake? Were they the leftover paint by numbers AU hunters - or hunters that have been around since the early days when hunters were dark and complex and lived in the shadows. And... what if someone wanted a glass of wine rather than beer? I don't like beer. Does that mean I can't be a hunter? And I was smiling out loud at the b&w portfolio photo of actress Samantha Smith in the frame that was being bandied about along with the beer and tears. What a joke! I do admit I was uncomfortable too when Jack called out to them from the box. But that's what TV is about. Making us feel unsettled sometimes. It can't be good times all the time. And knowing Dean he would've put all energy into somehow 'curing' Jack so he could be released. Jack being a mixture of unstable dangerous and naivety could be an entertaining story line and I prefer Alex in this kind of role. But I don't want it to be the focus for season 15. I hope it's wrapped up next week. And that goes for heaven and angels and the empty too. And I agree with Gonzosgirrl that this episode might have been the wake up call for Jensen. It's so obvious (to me, anyway) the series is treading water and hardly staying afloat.

Wow, they’re out for Dean’s blood on Twitter. 🤣🤣🤣
-
Wasn’t that ridiculous 🙄 I was hoping Jack would spend season 15 locked inside the box with Nick. No such luck!

Bobby and Rufus could’ve been a workable and probably successful spin off. Unfortunately the CW seeks teens and skinny jeans. But they’re not watching the CW...

S11.E07: It's Kind of a Phone-y Story
Pondlass1 replied to OnceSane's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
My hubby would be annoyed with me if I called him on camera with a bunch of cackling hags as background. -
Yes I remember reading somewhere that the camera on a track thingy had trouble keeping up with him in the running scene in The End. He kept running out of the frame. I do hope he doesn't have knee or hip issues in older life. I've wondered the same thing. His phone is maybe too big for the back pocket but it looks odd in the front like that. Like it would be uncomfortable, especially in tight pants and muscular thighs. Not much room. And then there's the family jewels issue. 😱

It’s heartbreaking. 😭😭😭😭😭 Hope they can save something.

Buffy's return to earth was written so much better than Mary's. Both were ripped from heaven and both behaved oddly and coldly upon return. Writers provided Buffy the opportunity to explain her feelings in a heartfelt conversation with Spike. Heaven was warm and safe and beautiful - real life was cold and harsh and ugly. The Scoobies expected her to be grateful. She was not. But we understood. I can relate to how Mary must've felt - dragged back into reality, presented with two grown sons she did not know. But Mary was never given any opportunity to communicate feelings. Her sons, especially Dean, were openly angry and heartbroken with her but she seemed so aloof. It seemed to them that she couldn't stand to be around them and must go away, she'd rather be in a world she did not know than be with them. What a slap in the teeth. I cannot imagine any mother doing this. We didn't need soap opera or endless exposition of their lives growing up - but at least some love and care and understanding - it was an epic Supernatural mother and child reunion after all The writers seem so thick when it comes to devising reasons for a guest star to miss episodes. Kevin was on a rusting boat instead of safe in the bunker for instance. (Although the bunker hardly seems same anymore since they installed that revolving front door) But Dabb had no time for heartwarming mother and child reunions. He was pushing his Wayward Gals spin off and maybe the actress would be part of it. Mary must become a cold hard super hunter overnight. And so the character changed. They realized their mistake after a while and scurried to give her a heart, but it was too late. And now I can't watch the early seasons.

The Winchesters are rarely logical. They are flawed and damaged. It’s what hooked me in at the beginning. Almost all American tv is usually rose coloured and wary of presenting main characters as broken. But Dean and Sam definitely have issues and we can relate, because none of us are perfect either. Their codependence is the stuff of crazy. It’s sick. It’s mental. But it’s them. It’s how they roll. Especially Dean. Remember... John did a number on Dean and it stuck. Sam is his number one priority. Sam doesn’t die ... Dean dies. So that kind of writing is ok with me. Dean will do a deal every time. I’m cool with that The killing of the Stein kid parallels (for me anyway) the killing of Amy the kitsune. Both Dean and the writing got major flack at the time. But not from me. It’s the reason babies and puppies are impossible to kill. It’s built into our nature and survival that we cannot easily kill the ‘pretty’. Whereas ugly mofo monsters are a breeze to wipe out. Had Amy’s pretty face mutated into the kitsune brain drinking thingy most viewers would’ve had no problem with Dean stabbing her. But she was pretty and vulnerable and her pretty eyes widened in surprise and so Dean got flack. *It’s interesting that just as Sam killed Dean’s daughter her face warped into the amazon ugly face.. so no flack for Sammy. Similarly had the teen Stein kid already sported a Frankenstein hand Dean shooting him point blank would’ve hardly made a ripple. In both instances Dean did the right thing imo The writing isn’t like this anymore. We’re rarely challenged or made unsettled under Dabb. Nothing goes deeper than a puddle. The Js know their characters. I think Dabb will listen to them. It’s in his best interest surely? I think BTS stuff will eventually come out. Not finger pointing, but it’s obvious to us so it must be obvious to the guys that Dabb’s eyes were on his spin off prize not the story of the Winchesters. The Js will give us a blast of a season and Dabb will just have to go along.
