This was my favorite, too. Made me laugh out loud.

When I saw the poster for The Cloven, my not-so-inner metalhead immediately went to a satanic goat-human hybrid monster like something off of a black metal album cover. The reindeer idea was a stretch to begin with, IMO, but that costume... OH that costume. I laughed out loud when I saw that thing wearing the little elf costume stabbing at the air. Something that also made me laugh? When Drew's guy pulled his scalp back and Neville exclaimed, "It's so JUICY!" Something about the way he said it just made me giggle like a fool.

Past Contestants Photo Gallery
Nutjob replied to Rhondinella's topic in America's Next Top Model [V]
I also love that the Sue is still working! I said back in her cycle that she should have won... another great example of Tyra's stellar judgment. -
I'd go for that for the win! I was sure... SURE... Amanda would get crucified for that poorly made, er, "jacket" thing. It was sheer, it was poorly made, it served no purpose. I gasped when she was in the top. Also, Kini's design made his models look like she had permanent headlights. Not exactly elegant. And as much as it pains me to say, I thought Korina deserved the win. It was more interesting than anyone else's, and the construction didn't suck, so that was about the best we got for this challenge.
-
All the freaking time, yes. ;) She was a very open, very evangelical Christian, and got blatantly called out by Tyra at panel for being a hypocrite at one point in the show. I wouldn't wish Romeo on my worst enemy, let alone on sweet Will. He's better off staying out of all that mess.
-
Well, if their intent was to make me like Glenn, it worked. TOTALLY. As noted by many others, he was more than generous with the praise and credit for his team, and yes... the cat thing won me over as well. I would have gone with Ve for the win, but that's because I thought her makeups displayed the most diversity of techniques. And Roy. I love me some Roy. That said, I don't think I would've had a problem no matter who won, because it was such a fun episode. Yay! for reality competition shows nearly devoid of manufactured drama.
-
Of course they would, if they were being obnoxious about it like Romeo. Remember C1 Robin? ANTM is an equal-opportunity mocker. ;) This group. THIS GROUP. I think this group of hamsters might be the worst since C4, and that's saying something. There's Will... Lenox is pretty great... and Mirjana is beautiful, but heinous... and Keith the Tyson clone is OK... and beyond that, I don't have much.
-
Yep... she mocked Amanda like a child playing copycat to bully another kid on the playground. I had my doubts about the off-camera comments until they showed her doing that, and Korina smirking back at her. Char, just because you own up to it doesn't make it OK to be ugly like that. Leave that crap to Korina, because she seems to be an expert. Regarding the designs, I was lukewarm on all of them except Kini's, and wishing Chris March, Christian Siriano, or Seth Aaron was around to show these people how it's done.
-
They might just be relegated to what the show has on hand (I'm assuming they have some sort of storehouse of props and costumes) or whatever they can get quickly. If they can't get it, then the contestants have to make it.
-
I could see nothing in that "Cowardly Lion" but "werewolf." When Ve compared it to Teen Wolf I felt totally vindicated. Heh. Also, I love George. He seems like he'd be a hoot to work around, and has such a great attitude.
-
Why do they keep inviting CJ to these things? I just cannot stand him. CANNOT. So far this episode was the most disappointing to me, simply because he won. Stefan's goat probably is what did him in. Grrr.
-
I just can't with the Twinnies and Rocker in the same season. I feel like MB is actively trying to get me not to watch this season, and I just might give him his wish.
-
I don't watch Veep, but she was so good on Hannibal as Miriam Lass. I knew exactly who she was (who could forget, "Put on his glasses!!!"), and was surprised at how composed and great she did in the role.

S01.E03: Mike Isabella vs. Antonia Lofaso
Nutjob replied to FormerMod-a1's topic in Top Chef Duels [V]
That explains why Antonia's daughter is so tall given that she's only 14! And poor thing, losing her dad so young. I had no idea. Anyway, add me to those who never could stand Mike I., and whose mind was not changed during this episode. I find him repugnant in every sense, so I was rooting for Antonia for all I was worth. Bless her for winning. -
"Future" doesn't necessarily mean "futuristic." Even Anne Fulenwider, during the instructions for the challenge, mentioned that grunge comes back every 10 years. The same goes for every decade--over the past years, we've seen 60's, 70's, and 80's inspired trends come back up... I mean, wasn't neon in fashion just a few years ago? Which is why Sandhya's win makes no sense to me. NO SENSE. Wearing those hanging vacuum hoses (tm someone upthread) is about as practical as it would be right now.... which is to say, not at all. The dress underneath was completely basic, and the soft color with that garish metallic hose was ugly. UGLY, I say. I guess I just don't get Sandhya's aesthetic at all, so if the judges keep rewarding her every week for things that I think are underdesigned and ugly, I may have to stop watching. Aufing Angela was a mercy kill if I've ever seen one, and I'm glad they did it--watching her descent into a nervous breakdown is something I would not have enjoyed.

I get Lenny. I really do. Yes, most of his schtick is just that--schtick. But in his pilot, with the graphics and what not, I saw a kernel of a good idea for a show that would also be entertaining. And let's face it, that's what Bob and Susie are looking for--an entertainer. His schtick isn't anymore over the top than someone like Nadia G., but his is a lot more accessible to the general viewing audience (I mean, I'm a metal chick, so I like Nadia G. just fine, but I also get that she's not for everyone). I think that's why his fakeness doesn't bug me much.

I honestly couldn't believe Sasha's was in the top. Yes, structurally it was great, but the seams were terrible around the top and sides of the head! I thought she'd be in the bottom for that alone, and when they called her in the top I was completely surprised. The head of Doc's looked like a malformed beluga whale.

Ugh, this show. First, I'll restate the popular opinion that I think the judges are smoking some bad crack. I didn't think the winning team's was the worst, but I also didn't think it was the best. (Although Amanda doesn't bug me... and I'm just thankful she isn't Ken or Alexander.) But the remark from Heidi to Angela about her dress? Whoever said upthread that it had Jonathan Murray written all over it was dead on. This show has been like a soap opera ever since Bunim/Murray took over, and they've just about ruined it at this point. And let me say a word about Sandhya--she seems nice. Pleasant. But she also immediately started designing without checking with her teammates, when she had immunity and they were on the line. I don't think she did it maliciously, but there is a level of self-awareness that she most definitely lacks. When she started talking about respect and acting like a victim, I thought my eyes would roll out of my head. That said, what Carrie and Hernan did on the runway was inexcusible. Blaming Tim? Nope. Doesn't wash. Throwing Sandhya under the bus? Sorry, but also... no. She had immunity. I don't know if they thought the judges would suddenly change the rules for them, but again--self awareness, they lack it. Also: Shut UP, Nina.

I actually still like Cig. I'm glad he's still being relatively cool, or I'd feel stupid for saying I kind of liked him last week. I also thought the tuna was the clear winner...it was just the right balance between man and fish to fit into the vibe the judges were looking for. I thought they might have a problem with typewriter guy's head--it was disproportionately big for his body, I thought. Great idea, though. We also don't have a crier yet, and I'm thankful. I could do without an Alana or Chloe this season.

Past Winners: Wanna Be on Top? Too Bad.
Nutjob replied to Rhondinella's topic in America's Next Top Model [V]
Apparently, Adrianne beat some dude down at ComicCon this weekend for groping her friend. http://www.toofab.com/2014/07/28/adrianne-curry-groped-comic-con-video/ -
I also liked Lenny's tip about growing your own herbs... something the average family might not think of, but makes for much tastier meals in the long run for very little money. I agree with everyone who said Luca was screwed from jump with those kids. They knew exactly what veggie he was making, so it was impossible for him to "hide" it. It would have been no matter what he used or made, because kids can be stubborn. I tried making a turnip gratin once for my five year old, and she would have loved it had I not told her what it was and let her think it was potatoes. She saw me slicing the turnips, though, and made up her mind beforehand that she'd hate it. I waffle on Nicole. I liked her personality and presentations this episode, but it was spectacularly clueless to give a spicy dish to a family with young children that she knows mostly eat meat and potatoes. Even before I had a child I knew better than that. Eye rolls and snarky comments aside, I just can't stand Sarah because she's so pageanty. Everything she does is fake and rehearsed, and even with all that rehearsing she still manages to mess things up. Loreal--glad she's gone. I know more about meat than she does, and I'm not a butcher babe. Blah.

As a Native American, I always get a little excited when I see one of my peeps on a reality show. Then Korina had to ruin it by being horrible. Grrr. I was glad to see Amanda was back, simply because Ken and Alexander were both awful. I still can't figure out why Alexander would even want to come back on the show after all his whining about the judging on his season's reunion.

I don't see Vince being a big problem, mostly because I don't think Michael Westmore is the type to expect the judges to play favorites. He seems too genuine for that. Count me in on loving what Dina did--I thought it was gorgeous. The rest didn't stand out to me much, other than Vince's because he got that male model who is always on the show. Beyond Scott, Gabby and Jason, I didn't see any of the rest as being terrible. Also, I'll admit to kind of liking Cig Neutron. I mean, the name is ridiculous, but he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously, and I can get behind that.

Rick told Daryl, right? That, right there, might bring more conflict for Carol... there might still be some pent-up hostility and mistrust from Pookie because of what she did. Here's some spoilery stuff: http://thestir.cafemom.com/entertainment/174992/walking_dead_season_5_spoilers I think it's a lock we see Gabriel this season.

Yeah, it was Lisa who had to be the "wine angel." That was the season Aaron won. Amy kind of imploded a bit and semi-quit, only to be brought back to the finals when they disqualified JAG for lying about his experience and military background. She was up against that woman with the big gums (Rory, I think?) and won in the fan vote.
