  1. I haven’t read the comments because I don’t want to spoil myself but I’ve heard that this episode is “torture porn” like. Is it really that bad? If so I may skip and just read the Vulture recap. I get really anxious watching those kinds of scenes but I also don’t want to miss any emotional development. TIA.
  2. I’ve been watching 30 Rock again and all I could think of when I heard about Elon Musk is that such a Jack Donaghy thing to do.
  3. THANK YOU! I just read them all and subscribed!!!
  4. I heard DJ say “my MEDICORE rise” which made me laugh because the delivery was so deadpan. I still think both meteoric and mediocre are funny line readings. I wonder if they ever are going to touch on Dan having a problem with his drinking especially after Roseanne died due to her addiction and his anger towards that. (his hands shaking when he reached for the beer during the kitchen scene when Darlene tells him he can’t pregame before counseling section, multiple episodes in which he is having drinks mid-day and being checked by other characters on it, etc). I think Dan and Becky are super similar and it’d be interesting to look into that. They both use humor and avoidance to deflect.
  5. I miss Tom and Hugh’s blogs on Bravo. It also doesn’t seem like Eater is recapping the season. Does anyone know of any recaps/analysis of the show? I currently like the rankings on Uproxx.com https://uproxx.com/life/top-chef-power-rankings-week-4-portland/
  6. On IG, Gail wrote that it was the first clear day since the wildfires. I hope you all are doing better this year! I love Padma’s slippers and how Tom looks like a slightly creepy uncle.
  7. I got to take a stand for Injera! I love the sour taste and the way it enhances the food. I am so angry reading this post because I am craving Ethiopian food so hard now and I won’t be able to get some for at least couple more months. 🤣 I really like this crew and I think it’s going to be a wonderful season. The eliminations have been who I expected but I like them all. I’m eager to see how they navigate restaurant wars.
  8. Chloe is street smart and game smart. I saw her on ‘Too Hot to Handle’ (thank you pandemic?). She annoyed me at first for both but she’s an incredible people reader and IMO plays dumb for the camera. I think she can play the game especially since she has a bead on Emily/Jack.
  9. OMG! My exact thought!! 😂😂 it’d be so messy after cooking a few greasy/splashy meals. I liked all the houses in pieces but I do think Brian and Mika had the best overall ROI. I loved the gym, laundry room, and home office. Working from home this past year made me appreciate those points more.
  10. Finally figured out who Dennis reminds me of. The actor from Outlander Graham Mactavish:
  11. I really noticed that in this episode. I’m seriously concerned about her health. Yeah I kept on thinking that the camera is supposed to add 10 pounds. I’m not even being snarky. She looks like my twin did before she died of cancer. I wonder if it’ll get addressed at all. On a less depressing note, TJ’s disdain at the elimination question I think from Katie had me rolling. ‘One? No. How do you eliminate one?’ and Katie yelling that she hit her face again f*ckers made me laugh out loud.
  12. I’m from Chicago so I’m contractually obligated to hate him but I liked him too. He was stiff but I think he’ll loosen up in the next couple of games. I read that he took the role seriously and prepared hard for it. I got a lot of the clues today but also thought FJ was Alex.
  13. I never thought of that until this episode and now I’m eyeing by 9 nieces and nephews a lot closer. 😂. I loved when Santa Monica threw the tea on the Cabbage Patch doll. It was a fun throwback/flash forward to when she is on her ‘Housewives’ show on Black-ish.
  14. I liked N&J’s the best so was glad they won. However I just didn’t get most of the basements. I wish that one of them would of thrown in a stackable washer/dryer. If you are making an in-law suite/rental/extra bedroom, that would of added value. Plus I hate laundry rooms on the second floor because I fear flooding in case the washing machine malfunctions. The bowling alley was cute but stupid. Same with the movie theater room and ping pong tables. Great for the novelty but will most likely only be used a handful of times. I totally agree about the home gym. What a missed opportunity! That and a nice, functional home office seems to be key now. I know after a year of WFH and not having access to gyms, I’d look for that more. Also Allison, a bedroom in the basement is not a ‘Chicago’ thing. Most of our basements are dank, cold, and prone to flooding. The cool ones looked like this:
  15. As someone who developed a strong fear of heights*, my heart was pounding and I really wanted to punch Sam in the mouth when he kept on talking. 😂Graham’s reaction was totally relatable! I was proud of him. This episode was beautifully shot. I want to visit/live in Scotland. * not so much heights. I’m fine in high rises, airplanes, climbing up structures, etc. it’s the fear of falling for me. Put me near a ledge or an edge and my heart goes nuts, my hands get sweaty, and I have trouble breathing. I found this out the hard way when I climbed all the way to the top of St. Paul’s dome in London and as soon as I stood outside, I panicked. Had to inch myself against the wall to go back in. I also climbed the Great Orme in Wales and was fine until I got close to the edge of the cliff.
  16. I was steeling myself that Ata would get fired and lose her friendship so I was so happy when it went the other way. I was confused that they were donating the clothes with the security tags still attached. Wouldn’t that cause problems with the donation center. Mild nitpick. I loved the real Ata at the end and I thought the actress who plays her picked up on a lot of little mannerisms of her (I.e touching her face when she laughs)
  17. I think that her salary and any potential winnings go directly to HGTV legal fund for the Windy City Rehab lawsuits. Win-win for the network. 🤣 I agreed with the judges that B&M played it safe with the color/design but I loved their layout and bathroom. I hate to say it but I also loved Alison’s closet. I didn’t like their ombré tile because I immediately thought of grout uptake over the years. Would you be able to clean it the same? I’m old. This is where my mind goes. And on that topic of me being old, N&J marble floors make me afraid of breaking a hip by slipping. Even if I was 6 instead of 43.
  18. My husband and I watch this late and we both got the alert of another mass murder in the middle of John’s segment of the Atlanta mass murder. Less than a week apart.
  19. I liked the peacock wallpaper when I saw it connected to the color of the kitchen cabinets but I hated the black wall and ombré stairs. Way too much.
  20. That’s usually my go to color and it looks great! (I’m fish belly white 9 months out of the year and slight tan for 3 months if that helps)
  21. Because none of them or their final picks were ever credibly accused of making racially insensitive remarks, attending racist parties, etc.
  22. She grew up in a ‘sundown’ town (Cummings, GA). When I talked to my husband who spent his teens/went to college in Georgia about this whole thing and I told him where she lived, his first reaction was it tracked because that area is notoriously known as being a racist area. I do give Rachael credit for seemingly working on educating herself because it seems like she grew up absorbing racist learnings be it implicit and explicit.
  23. 100%. My armchair therapist side saw Matt as the classic overachiever trying to please everyone. I felt like his mom probably over-confided in him when he was young (not maliciously but sometimes parents cast their kids in that role)and he spent his whole childhood trying to make her less sad/angry. I can just imagine the anxiety he went through. It’s tough to balance that.
  24. I’m excited now! It’ll be nice to have female hosts who have had the experience. I find Kaitlyn to be very engaging on her podcasts. I loved Tayshia as the bachelorette and I think she’ll really be able to connect to Katie. This will be a nice change from Chris who is hardly on screen anyways.
  25. I agree with the comments on that this episode was meh. There were some funny bits and some interesting bits but I felt like the editors/production didn’t know how to present this episode. The scenes with the torture devices was shown as jocular but it felt forced and Graham was visibly uncomfortable. I think they could of shown that with the gravity that it deserved. Real human beings were horribly abused and died because of that. Outlander has no qualms about showing that and I felt it could of been more educational and less ‘haha thumb screws’. Especially when the guide said that most couldn’t sign the innocent document because their fingers were too mangled. I really like this show but I felt that this one missed the mark.
