  1. The bed thing also seemed overly competitive as there seemed to be a comparison of the girls against each other “Riri is dry, Hazel is dry”... that praise and calling out names made me really uncomfortable. Praise them for a clean washroom, something that is 100% in their control, talk about how it went (if they woke up during the night, etc.) and how they feel in the am but don’t check the beds in front of all of them and on tv.
  2. I guess I am a mean parent as I hate when kids goof off with things they shouldn’t touch. What if she broke it would the Busby’s pay for it? At medical offices here you aren’t supposed to touch that stuff and the doctor would have mentioned it if she came in the room. They let the kids goof off a lot and ignore a lot of bad behaviour. For example, in another episode when the kids went into Adam’s office. That happened because they let it, it is a pretty easy behaviour to stop by locking the door and disciplining the girls that came in. ETA we are reaching the point in time where the poor parenting now shows so I will probably tire of the show. When the kids were young there isn’t that much you can do, babies are overwhelming but the kids are 4. I know a family with lots of kids that they had almost back to back so they have 6 kids under 7 and their kids behave pretty well. Sure it isn’t 5 at the exact same age but having a bunch 1 year apart must not be easy.
  3. And for a few of them they really do have differing goals. Wanting biological children with a 60 year old wife may not be possible. Using a surrogate, ivf, adoption are all expensive and likely unaffordable options for these folks. Adoption of older children may not be allowed for older women, there are often lots of rules. It does seem to me though that Sumit really does love Jenny and Aladdin seems like a decent guy and was pretty good in his conversation with the asshole that is Liam.
  4. I know some people in real life with a large age difference and the most ridiculous is when the younger spouse is really immature. Some other couples I know where the younger spouse is like a 50 year old person in a 30 year old body you don’t even really notice the difference at all. So for me it really depends on the couple. If Laura is only 50 then pregnancy could be possible naturally but if she is closer to age 55 then probably not. IDK, I am 45 and not seeking more kids but my doctor said I am not even started peri-menopause and based on some of her tests she doesn’t think close to starting for a while so I still really need protection if I don’t want more kids. Sure miscarriage would be more likely though. I have friends my same age that have been in peri for years now so I guess it depends on the person. But of course I know 50 is different than 45 (I am close to 46 now).
  5. I think in cases like episode 5 -the vomiter, there is something they are all getting out of identifying as a family with the challenge of managing a chronic illness. Even with more known chronic illnesses there are people that caught up in “the attention” of the illness. If you get “cured” you become a regular person/family again. The show was interesting in the sense that it highlighted (at least for me) that some people like the young woman in episode 1 and the vet don’t have access to great health care due to finances. It is unfortunate for the vet that no doctor even suggested getting any coverage for anything through the VA. When my husband was diagnosed with a serious illness we met with social workers to go through options for access to financial support but I make a good income so that was not necessary so we had one meeting to tell them financially we are fine. But I can see how this is good for others as people don’t know what support is accessible and they don’t know how to apply for it. eta: I think Lashay will push for treatment when the illness has more effects on her appearance. She is very pretty and at some point here her teeth with not be able to handle all the stomach acid. She is much to young to just cope with her illness that does have a possible treatment.
  6. There were years shown on the show. I missed some of them in the second episode but went back to check as the technology moved to iPhones. Marie’s rape was in 2008 on the show and in real life.
  7. Mine has a fan you can blow yourself dry if you want. I just use toilet paper but the way the water goes you don’t get soaked. It is one of the best things I bought for my washroom reno but you need a plug so I installed one right beside the toilet when I had the walls down. The whole washroom conversation with Deaven was hilarious. It kind of pisses me off the Deaven acts like now that she has a baby with a man who stayed that he is 100% responsible to pay all the bills. Why didn’t she save up for Korea expenses? Sure she probably cannot work there right now but she did have about 9 months to save. It just seems so sexist to me.
  8. I an really enjoying this show. My hope is that Krystal scams the scammers at the end and doesn’t get friends and family involved, just finds a way to sell her garage of FAM crap and then takes them all down. We shall see... The hair and clothes are pretty fun, they take me back to my youth. That was the style then LOL.
  9. The pool was really nice. I wasn’t a fan of the first design with the treehouse, what they ended up with was much nicer. Pools are very expensive, I actually didn’t think $200k was that bad considering what they got. A pretty basic inground pool in my area is around $60k. I recently put in a “fancy” above ground pool and the cost was $20k just for the pool install plus now I have the landscaping part which I am doing myself so that will save a few $. I would love to have a backyard like Christina’s but I live in a climate with winter so you couldn’t use it much of the year.
  10. I don’t really like Avery’s mom. I guess it is hard seeing your child change but she acts like not drinking alcohol is a bad thing. The way she turned up her nose at eggplant. Lots of religions support “traditional values” but people don’t practice them that way. I recently went to a Christian wedding where there was a lot about the “head of the household” and I know the groom, he is a decent guy. I can see why Avery may be trying to “defect” from her family as her mom is a piece of work. ETA: why doesn’t that kid in Columbia wear the seat belt in her car seat? I mean WTF, why bother with the car seat then?
  11. Yes I agree. I actually find Avery with being fully covered up looks pretty “sexy” except for the fact she often has ill-fitting bras. What is it with women and bras on this show? So many are so ill-fitting or non-existent that the women look awful.
  12. I don’t know why but I found it hilarious when Tyler was on his rant about them never being able to get their shit together and get anything done on time. Exactly Tyler that is what everyone wants to know too! Doing the scrapbook last minute on tv looks bad. C&T have really dropped the ball on their side of the communication with Carly. It seems they only express interest in visits but they could be sending letters every month or couple of months. Kids love mail, my 10 year old gets cards from my mom through the mail for all holidays and we live in the same city and she loves it! Each day of this show gets a bit more derepressing as at first I couldn’t see what you all were saying about Nova being ignored but now with the new baby and this Carly visit I can really see it. Even if C&T regret the adoption what they should is channel all that regret into being the best parents ever for Nova and Vaeda.
  13. In the preview it looks like Colin is quitting (is that right name?) Maybe he is sick of working with trashy assholes? He seems like a decent person but I have only watched this season.
  14. I too found the behaviour at the hotel trashy. Commenting on Aesha looking like a hooker was also trashy though. I think her outfit was the least trashy of most things done that day. I personally would have left whichever that passed out guy was to sleep at the pool. The food stuff is funny as what’s her name is so defensive. They should just buy some cloches don’t they see how restaurants with lots of guests or long distances from the kitchen use them. They work pretty well. Next week we have an on camera barfer, I am surprised we haven’t seen more.
  15. I didn’t even know about this show until I saw a commercial about it. Anyway in the first few minutes with the peach pit stuff I was “ugh it is going to be this?” When it switched to the plane and Tori and Jennie as “themselves” it got interesting. I loved it! I know a lot of about some of their lives so the not exactly real life stuff I found interesting. As I watched a lot of Tori and Dean stuff I maybe found her more endearing than others did as IDK why there is just something about Tori I like.
  16. Avery seems to me like someone who just wants to do something to be different. IDK why but that is the gut feeling I get that this is her version of attention seeking behaviour. She seems to enjoy the attention of becoming Muslim more than it being a religious awakening but I will continue to watch and see, maybe I am wrong. Caesar is being played and for some reason I feel bad for him even though it is his fault for needing to land someone outside his league looks wise. IDK he just seems naturally vulnerable or something? Darcy is back on with all the makeup. Just toss the lashes ladies you look so much better without them (I recently saw a Chantel preview without the lashes and eyeshadow and was damn she is good looking but the makeup lessens her looks not improves them). While Darcy is not as hot as Chantel she is much better looking with more natural makeup. I would think Darcy could find a younger man in the US but maybe she enjoys the distance, you get to have a boyfriend but your life too. I can see the appeal of that. Also I am sure she likes the TLC pay.
  17. I liked Laurie’s walls and layout. The fabrics weren’t my style as I am not a green fan. However, it all looked well put together and balanced and I like how all the trim was the same wall colour. Hilde’s room, I didn’t mind both the taupe and pink colours but the green was awful. The pattern was over the top but it isn’t that much area to repaint. Maybe I would just paint over the green and keep one pink area. I might keep the floor pattern too, as unique floors can be interesting and then if you put a solid area rug on it might be different enough but not too different.
  18. I also didn’t understand the double dipping issue at all but I didn’t feel like rewinding and taking a closer look. The drinking the soup at the end was out of line and gross though.
  19. I agree and think white curtains would have looked better (or as close to colour of the other wall colour as possible) as the darker curtains just made the dark walls too dark. Or maybe gold curtains but something brighter.
  20. I didn’t really like the 70s room just because it isn’t my style. The 50s one represents a style that is pretty popular again and a style I like so I thought the room was pretty good. The home owners seemed like the 70s room so that was good. I really liked the tube wall separator, it looked done well. It helped that the couples had nice furniture already as the designers didn’t have to try and DIY couches.
  21. Once Cake Boss got more popular Buddy seemed a lot more arrogant than in the beginning. I thought this show would be “all in good fun” just professionals having a friendly competition. My 10 year old watches a lot of these cooking/baking shows but left halfway through as it was to “mean” for her. Hopefully, this weird competitive vibe lessons or I am out as that was an uncomfortable hour of tv. Maybe it should have been Sylvia Weinstock vs Duff as that would have been a hoot as she is so funny on Nailed It and I think it would have been a more playful competition.
  22. I thought the line about the grapes and yogurt was hilarious considering not to long prior we had the whole Oreo, McDonald’s and then pizza event. I sometimes wish Dr Now would then pull out the camera footage, play it and then say “so do you still stand by eating just grapes and yogurt during the day?” And then of course there would be the rebuttal that by day they thought Dr Now meant from 1pm-2pm, not all the way to first dinner at 3:30pm and he should be more specific.
  23. I like Heather’s purple hair colour on her. She would look best with a bang though, either a full blunt bang modern look or a sideswept more common look. I hated hearing Alasker all the time, so annoying. What a great place though, I really love log cabins and would like to travel to Alaska. I would have thought Whit would try to not complain at least for an hour or two to try and prove to her parents that Whitathon was a good idea. Complaining in the first minute of the adventure pretty much proves her parents point that this is all a very bad idea!
  24. For a woman who spends at least 50% of this show in sports bras she really needs to get better ones. I think some company that makes really good ones should give her some for advertising because if they can keep all that in place and I don’t have too see Whitney’s boobs flap around anymore I most certainly know they could keep my gals in place on a run. It would be a win-win for everyone. I think Whitney drinks a lot of calories and I can believe she doesn’t eat and then crashes and binges. Starbucks coffee and a 9pm binge can totally keep you fat. Sure Whitney works out but weight management is pretty much all diet. I think Jessica is trying to get Whitney to eat meals and not binge. She said Whitney avoids eating and then eats junk food or maybe it was fast food that she mentioned. It is pretty easy to eat a ton of calories but not a huge volume on junk food. It is Whitney who is trying to fool us, Jessica admits the truth.
  25. Kody and his “if it doesn’t look good, it doesn’t look good” about the hats LMAO coming from the guy who cannot seem to figure out his hair is awful. Kody, if the hair doesn’t look good, it doesn’t look good and the perm hasn’t helped. He should be first in line to get a hat for the wedding to cover his mop. I liked the hats overall. The problem will be that the gals will have ungly-ass dresses they squished into and they won’t do the hats justice. Maybe the hats will distract from the dresses? Lol
