  1. I think IRL I would always have liked Shane with his sarcastic comments and rolling his eyes at much of the silly stuff. In the earlier years he seemed stressed and didn't joke/smile much. He is probably happy that his bar exam stuff isn't a major plot line. Emily also seems to have come into her own on the show, in earlier seasons she seemed more insecure around the group. Tamra is still a crazy one and was probably hired back to bring the drama, but she looks great still and not as fake as you can with all the work they get done.
  2. Man this new boat is so much nicer than the usual BD boats. The sailing one is decent but the BD ones are so dark 90s old man decor that I cannot image people paying luxury prices for them. Even the outside is nice, more like a sports car. Love it, hope the regular BD gets some more modern/in style boats. I guess the layout is less practical for the toys.
  3. I personally think the Travis moved to be close to Kourtney stuff is "rewriting history" as it seems "romantic". I doubt he moved for Kourtney, it was over a decade ago. Obviously, Kris buys into that stuff and Travis (like the rest of us) probably knows how best to get into Kris' good books. Kourtney had way less reaction to Kris' revelation than Kris did.
  4. I never followed Theranos at the peak so it is hard to see what charm Elizabeth has, as by the time I really took a look, the downfall had occurred so in hindsight you see the red flags. I liked the series but think they made Amanda too attractive and didn't do the crazy makeup and fuzzy hair enough there near the end. At one point there, Elizabeth looked more like Tammy Faye and I recall times when it seemed her red lipstick was smudged and messy. I thought the "crazy inventor" was a calculated part of her look. Afterall, at trial she had normal hair and makeup. I think the show did a decent job of the story. It was a bit rushed at the end. Amanda got a lot of the odd facial movements down pat, the voice wasn't low enough but that was likely a challenge as there was a lot going on in Elizabeth's mannerisms. I hope Elizabeth gets some time. I doubt it will be 20 years though. It sucks they brought a kid into this bullshit. I certainly can believe it was calculated. Billy must be a piece of work too but then again people send love letters to Scott Peterson in prison so there have always been people attracted to criminals. Maybe he thinks he can change her or she actually loves him and he is above the con. Or maybe like Sonny he is a conman too. ETA some of the difference between Elizabeth and other startup "frauds" is that she took money from rich old men and those are less likely to let it go and move on with their lives. If you go the VC route you are a bit protected from the fact that VC's know they will have some losers and if they sue their startups they will be less likely to get the next Facebook opportunity. It worked well for Elizabeth to con the men she did but I doubt if she went the traditional VC route it would have gone as it did. Her best con was of Sonny and his bail out, she was dead in the water without that.
  5. Is that the lawyer's wife? If so, yes what was up with that, it was awful! Why did she need bad bangs? I think it was crazy how roped in Vivian became. I can see it for getting the article done before the baby, as that was to recover her career. After that? Move on to the next story you have a newborn at home. I hope the lawyer stuff was made up and he didn't really tank his marriage for a con artist.
  6. The actress did a great job in mimicking the speech and affect of the real Anna! Such an annoying voice. The actress' accent may be off but the fry and dry affect seem similar enough. The fact is that some people are just drawn to bitchy women. Don't we all know at least one poorly behaved snotty ass woman who gets every one's attention all the time? I thought the reporter didn't jump on the VIP thing because she was trying to hold the cards and not be manipulated into giving in to Anna. That was my take.
  7. I would voluntarily live in that house. I loved it so much, it was amazing. I don't read really, so could do the no books. I could tell the difference between Emma and June when they were shown face on but sometimes the scenes were far away or from the side and I had to look at the context like the clothing or who was around as there was a lot of overlap (the husband hung around in both, they both dated the homeowner). I also probably don't pay full attention.
  8. That was the most realistic part to me. No one I know really knows numbers by heart these days. I know my mothers, my landline, my office and my own cel. I don't know my husband's cel. My kid's cel number is three numbers and her name so I could probably get it after a couple of tries. My 12 year old has never dialed a phone as everything is by text or pushing the call icon. If my mom every drops her landline then I am shit out of luck without my cel. However, we use find my phone so if Kirsten's parents phones were on they could have tried that to get a location of them.
  9. They could have just had her test positive for Covid before her flight. It would have been easy and realistic.
  10. This show has just become more crazy. So when you spend $50m on an asset is it only important your agent look hot? Does anyone on this show actually work and know something about real estate other than marble looks pretty? The episode with the fancy balloons, sure you care about the view being blocked but how about if a home is built on the cliff below will your home be structurally affected? IDK, I just don’t buy these people really work in real estate, or else wealthy people in California are stupid enough to only care that their agent looks fuckable and not that they actually add any business acumen to the real estate process. At least on million dollar listing, despite their manufactured drama, you can see some actual work going on. Don’t get me wrong, I dress nice for work and get my own Botox so I am not saying only ugly agents need apply but this show is so unprofessional overall and makes the women look bad. Like “tee hee, please buy a house, pretty please” while batting eyelashes kind of BS. The lips on Christine are crazy. She is probably going to regret stretching her skin so much.
  11. I found the show interesting. It would have been nice to see a bit more about how it all went from Maxi skirts out if the truck to what it became as it was a bit “sold maxi shirts out of my trunk yada yada a team of thousands women”. I recognize that they must have always wanted it to be an mlm from the early days or else they would have focused more on products that sell to an actual end user. You can probably sell the average woman 10 pairs of nice comfy black leggings, it is pretty much a staple and some pay lululemon prices. Lots of areas don’t have lulu stores so to get to try on leggings at a party or pop up would have an appeal over ordering off a website. But then they went crazy with stupid patterns. I don’t own anything LLR but I can see that now they are trying for more classic patterns, something you can actually wear to work not just the grocery store. If the company were just direct sales without the bullshit mlm stuff and the huge unrealistic growth it probably could be a decent business for some people seeing how the demand has be run growing for athleisure clothing. If you can sell $20k of stuff a month and your wholesale is an actual wholesale price (at least a 100% markup) it could be a decent income. But of course with all the bullshit bonuses it becomes a “career” of recruitment not sales. Lots of the same drink the Koolaid stuff happens in the corporate world too and regular employees fall for it all the time so I certainly don’t fault these women for that. In my field (finance) back in the 90s there was always a push by managers to get the newbies in “sales” to get into some kind of debt as it kept them “hungry” and gave them “skin in the game”. This type of thing isn’t just in mlm. The most interesting to me was the bringing the husbands in and the how to treat your man stuff as I had no idea about that. I thought it was pushing for women run businesses.
  12. Their voices were a bit annoying. It was funny as some of the time they did stop the vocal fry so it seemed a bit put on as it really seemed to come and go. I guess I am old as Instagram photos is not what I pay for in a hotel lol. I thought the design was okay for a budget reno. Not a super fan of everything being coral and blush tones without some kind of contrast for balance. The washrooms they did with blue I liked better. I found out there was a design company behind this so I am less impressed overall then as somethings felt a little DIY design. Looking up their first June Hotel, it also has a lot of blush tones but seems more interesting. I think the pool area and the A frame were the best designed. Their apartment kitchen I didn’t really like as it was tone on tone of coral and pink with nothing to break it up for me. I think the idea of open shelves which they didn’t end up doing would have been nicer. They don’t really only serve Rose right? Are people really that into Rose?
  13. I put this one before bed and stayed up to watch the whole thing. It was very well done, it really held my interest. I was around the age of many of the attendees in 99 and the music is some I listened to. It was kind of funny how they joked about people who listen to the bands like Limo Bizkit wouldn’t then do the Rave thing but I totally would have at the time. I also would have listened to Jewel and Alannis but Kid Rock too, as I have diverse music interests. Never liked Korn though but the commentary by the Korn member was very good and insightful. It added a lot to the show. It was weird to see the bands old like me now lol. The water situation was insane. Even today I think $4 for a 500ml water bottle is insane. The place was crazy dirty. I have never done the music festivals in my province as there is no way I could handle their mess even though they are no where as near messy as this was. The comment about the topless girls being partially responsible for being groped is disgusting. Sure people will look at their tits but touching them - no. The guy was smirking when he said, good thing his Woodstock 50 fell through. Becoming of age in the early 90s it was an angsty time. We were told we would never have the things our parents had, we wouldn’t have the same level of personal wealth or opportunities. I spent my formative years anxious about how I would support myself in the future and now my mid 40s self looks back and says “relax” life isn’t that hard. So even though I am a woman, I do relate to some of the undercurrent of “anger” at the time.
  14. All the fixing of the stuff in the loft was annoying. It seemed more a show off thing seeing as how the rooms were clean but B was acting like she walked in after a frat party. I like B but in this her bitchiness seems rude and unprofessional. On the housewives it works, here she could have tried to be more professional. The loud gal was annoying though, right out of the gates. I did like the mirror photos they were doing on the iPhone, seemed better than what some of the others were doing from an artistic standpoint.
  15. I thought Moira and Emily were just blowing off steam with their complaining. It was a way they were bonding and it seemed implied that they really missed June. The kids are better off in Canada. It will take a while and therapy. The aunt needs better support as her way of handling her nephew is not going to be helpful. I recognize she is learning too but as an adult she needs to be the adult in discussion with the nephew and she needs to educate herself more. I don’t expect her to be perfect but she must know yelling “they aren’t your parents” is wrong. I cut her some slack because she is the aunt and with the fertility issue going on likely never had any kids of her own so maybe doesn’t know anything about kids.
  16. I think they get the places to themselves so at least only the poor staff is exposed but maybe the staff stays away from them. Who knows, it is Texas, maybe most people there are anti-maskers, I have no idea. They stayed home in March/April/May but basically have been out and about since the summer. They get a lot of flack for it on IG. Where I live all non-essential things are closed, you cannot even buy clothes in stores so it is weird to me to see people celebrate New Years. In my province none of them would be able to see each other (friends, siblings, etc.), only Mimi would be able to see one person as she lives alone. It is so interesting how it is so different everywhere, living restricted I am always surprised other places aren’t (places that also have way more cases than where I live). For her illness, if the symptoms have only been more recent maybe Danielle did have asymptomatic Covid and now has issues. Just because she has negative Covid tests now doesn’t mean much. It is weird to me to post from a hospital but ask people not to ask you anything. I am sure no one would know if they didn’t post, I guess they need attention? ETA to the Busby’s credit they seem to leave the mask/going out critical posts up in IG. Usually there are a few defenders though that seem to be covid-denying types telling others to mind their business or calling them sheep.
  17. They were all positive so he probably wasn’t supposed to go out. I guess they could have gotten a dog walker but then there would be risk for that person. In my area if you are positive you are to stay home and not go anywhere, you aren’t even to answer the door for food pickup, it is to be contactless. You aren’t supposed to walk your dog. The girls should have picked up after him though. It is weird watching this show as in my area and with my family I was/am way more strict about Covid. I saw a couple friends in the summer every Friday night but only outside 6 feet apart and my province had almost 0 cases then. These folks stand so close, sit so close. I haven’t sat that close to anyone outside of my spouse and kid since March 2020. I guess a few have been positive now so they don’t care as much. I find Braunwyn’s marriage so interesting. At the beginning we were really shown a life I guess that was fake. Why have 7 kids if you don’t want to do anything with them or raise them? I guess now she was drunk all the time and Sean “managed” her? And yet now she is such a bitch about him having to do that? IDK, obviously they have mental health issues above my pay grade lol. All of these folks have such issues. I mean I saw it before but them having to self-film and staying home with Covid restrictions just seemed to really show behind the curtain. Shannon has major issues, after all these years she still doesn’t get therapy?
  18. I am enjoying this doc. It is a different style than many docs but some of the differences are the appeal. Madison does a good job of questioning people who are talking shit about his immediate family. He seems to be getting things from them that you would think they would want to hide. He even hugs these relatives who are doing things like saying they were going to hire a hit man to kill you. He seems to remain objective through all this, showing both the good and bad of his parents, sister and himself. This family is a piece of work. There are so many skeletons.
  19. Seeing as how there was that earlier scene where Grace got annoyed at Henry for not cleaning up after himself I was thinking to myself “so you do know how to use the dishwasher!” during that whole scene Lol I found the murder scene horrific and they did show too much but Hugh was scary as hell then. He was scary again in the car. I was glad they showed up what happened and didn’t leave us guessing. So I enjoyed it. I personally think you never really know anyone fully and those who are good at the manipulation game can play people for a long time. Of course Grace had blinders on and while she was a psych professional often people are good at their job and bad at their personal stuff even in the same field. Added to that the psych field often attracts those that have personal experience with mental health issues. That part to me wasn’t surprising, life is is often do what I say not what I do. Personally I think her experience with Hugh will make her better at her job going forward as it gives her way more perspective and maybe more empathy as even she was fooled by a sociopath.
  20. Even if at first these women thought the table was a fun game, at some point they did know they were running a scam. I feel for Madison struggling to understand his mother as a scammer as it is pretty obvious they knew what they were doing by the time they reached the dessert table. Scams like these often start small, maybe the first tables had lower buy-ins to test the waters. There is a gifting one that goes around each holiday season and you gift one $50 gift card and expect 6 back. I called a cousin out on it and she said, well if she didn’t get anything back she can feel the joy in giving. So I told to gift to a real charity instead then, rather than gift to a scammer. She was offended that I thought such gifting games were scams, it was just women having fun. Sounds a lot like Jill’s BS but with a couple less zeros. The ex seems like a jerk but there were lots of sides to Barbara it seems.
  21. Leaving the girls behind everywhere stressed me out big time. Even at the end with the boat, have them stand closer or hide by the cars or something. I was glad they made it out though as everyone on the island was bat shit crazy. This show was so weird, so I guess the crazy woman wasn’t visiting Osea so are we to assume she wanted to get pregnant on purpose and seduced Jude? It must be cottage country or something right? That is why no one is in these homes that have supplies?
  22. I liked it. I don’t mind a little rehearsed, I prefer it to be practiced and clear then unrehearsed and meandering. I liked that even with the shots of India at the YMCA they didn’t just have her sit there and explain, they put quite a bit of the real footage in. Overall it was good. I wondered if Catherine’s dog bed story was about Bonnie? Catherine is more relatable in this compared to the vow. Give Keith a chance...YIKES!!!
  23. Open kitchen shelves are best for decoration. That unit with the glass upper fronts they could put a frosting film and then you cannot see as much through. Lots of these homes start off pretty dumpy so would people have lived in them like that or would they be abandoned or bank owned. They still sell for a lot but some seem crazy people live in them.
  24. In my city custom features that are in style do sell the homes faster and for better price points and in our market the custom home builders do make quite a bit of money. However, it seems on this show Allison is not that profitable or profitable at all. No way should you have over $1 million invested and only make $15k all in. You need to profit at least 15-25% of the investment or just leverage invest in a stock portfolio and stay home. So if she isn’t profitable then she isn’t doing the right thing for the market. The thing is on this show money is wasted on things that the average person cannot notice the difference between a moderate priced version and a really high end version. For example tile - you notice styling details and a quality install but there are many different tile price points. A well installed $5 per square foot tile can look just as lux as a $50 per square foot tile. It is when the install is poor the stuff looks cheap. Same thing with fancy installs, a 50 cent tile installed chevron will often look fancier than a much more expensive tile installed in a brick pattern. You pay more for the install but all in it may save money. Same thing for stone. I redid my kitchen and almost identical quartz, one was 3 times the cost of the other because it came from the US and not Canada but they were almost identical so unlike Allison I of course bought the lower priced one because it is ridiculous to pay 3 times to the cost for basically the same thing that will feel the same in the room. The stuff with Donovan is interesting. Who knows what they agreed should come from the profit and what could be billed to the projects. It is a real life lesson to people and how they operate their businesses. I find it interesting because it is real, there are real lawsuits. I am all caught up for the season now. The first black house I liked and it looked like the sides were already black. The second one with all black on black I did not like, the black did not suit the house.
  25. I see a difference in the kitchens. Tarek and Christina often have the standard L with an island with shaker cabinets. This show has had many kitchens that are not grey or white and lots of non-shaker cabinets, at least from what I recall. IDK, I actually like the finishes in many areas on this show, maybe I wouldn’t choose everything for my house but the show gives me some ideas for my home as I find transitional style easy to make small updates to refresh it every few years. The only design stuff on this show I really don’t like is the antique stuff just because I dislike antiques and would totally paint them and piss people off. I like Allison’s own house she has for sale, but if it is all poor construction then that is not good. I am sure Allison could totally be a bitch though, probably wouldn’t like her as a person but I ignore that part of the show lol. And of course if this is all shitty construction then who wants it but I watch for design ideas and I like to see pretty finished things.
