  1. Despite the gaping logic holes mentioned above (especially the fact that the other parents recognized Camille immediately), the thing that bugs me the most was how her parents have abandoned Lena, both now and in the past. She obviously was a troubled young person struggling with a load of survivor guilt (I'm surprised she can still have sex, considering what happened the first time), yet it doesn't seem that her parents - especially Mark, who had first hand knowledge of her promiscuity - did anything at all to help her. They certainly don't care about her now. Does anyone even know that she's not in the hospital anymore? I feel for her - she's better off with a serial killer. I felt for Tony and Adam (name right?) - they don't want to hurt her, but she really does know damaging info about them. Good thing the chief of police has his own family drama to deal with (although I did like that he sort of started to investigate "Alice"). I also liked Rowen laying some truth on Simon, although I would be a little apprehensive about ticking off some kind of supernatural creature (whether he's an angel, a zombie or just a plain old revenant). Especially since I didn't see the French version (or maybe because of that), I do enjoy it and intend to continue watching (At least until something better comes along.) Thanks, SierraMIst: I forgot that at least Claire (Clare?) did try to call her. Still not enough, in my opinion.
  2. For me, Jason Isaacs. And the mental exercise I'm getting trying to ignore the almost universal stupidity of everyone in this show. From the big things (gaping plot holes such as international murder investigations without an actual body etc) to the little ones (why is Debbie still driving that FBI land yacht around with Josh in the back seat), I'm in pretty much a state of WTF.
  3. That's why I enjoyed Lafayette on True Blood, at least at first. Don't nobody mess with a Marine drag queen.
  4. theschnauzers: Zachary Booth played Michael Hewes in Damages.
  5. I don't know how it happened, but I am now finding contestant Alex to be charming. Watching tonight (Wednesday), it seems that he is not bouncing around the board as much, but rather is being quite logical in seeking the doubles, and going for the high yield clues.
  6. Yeah, me too, I'm wondering how long I'm going to watch this. It's not poorly made, and I like Anna Friel, but the government conspiracy is just too realistic for me to take it as entertainment. And, no, my name is not Bob Offer, but I do believe that governments (including the US) engage in all kinds of behind the scenes behavior that I would really prefer not to know about. So watching something that just feeds into my paranoia just isn't fun.
  7. I really liked how the series ended, especially Dawn and Ty. Pretty much every loose end was tied up, in a satisfying way. I'm going to miss them.
  8. I like the show, but this episode just didn't do it for me. Of course, Candice Bergen is a star actress, but the writing was abominable. Everything was cliched, unrealistic, predictable, or boring. I look for sly humor in shows like this, and it was totally lacking this time. I liked it when it looked like the reporter was pushing back against Holly's blackmail/abuse of police process, but of course, he had to cave.
  9. Isn't that exactly what they do? I find it hard to take a flayed man as anything else
  10. All I can say is, Red better make it out alive. She is literally the only character who is competent at her job (looking adorable), and I really don't care if every other character DIAF. I'm including my beloved Jason Isaacs in that, since he'll pop up on another show sooner rather than later.
  11. Wow, what happened? How did Elena get infected? She must be the smartest person in Fortitude, since on her own she apparently made the connection between getting sick and going on a rampage. What was that scene with Dan in the beginning? Did they just burn Ronnie alive? After watching that, I have more questions than before. I've very much enjoyed watching this show and appreciate that there wasn't a lot of expository hand-holding. But that was ridiculous. I guess the next season is going to be Dan, Hildur, Elena and Marcus?
  12. Ha ha, I totally missed that, so thanks, I really like this show, it's cute and funny. So, of course, I've pretty much guaranteed that it will be cancelled. If it isn't, then as a viewer, I demand that Major ONLY appear shirtless.
  13. Thanks, Catray and thewhiteowl, for the Netflix heads up - I'm really glad I have an opportunity to see Season 3. I can't believe how much I like this show - the original ads for it didn't look good (to me), and I wasn't going to watch it. I only intended to catch the first episode because my husband's name is Johnson and I thought I could get some good lines to use on him. I like all the actors/characters, but admit I have a super affection for New Zealand accents (thanks, Flight of the Concords). I've just started watching (on episode 2), but appreciate the chance to see how the series plays out.
  14. Ugh, I said I would watch this until the end because of Jason Isaacs (especially shirtless and otherwise unclad Jason Isaacs). but this show is awful. I usually try to make a difference between bad writing and bad writing, but this show has both (except for JI, of course). Why do they even have the whole thing about the dead daughter? Unless there is some kind of tie-in (which would be so preposterous as to make even me give up), it has nothing to do with what I assume is the main plot (the rebuilding of the temple). They really could have just concentrated on making this a National Treasure kind of story, or a thriller (set in an exotic location and with interesting characters (Avram, Red). Instead this is just a hot mess with soapish elements. Speaking of soapish elements - what's the point of Ann Heche's character? I thought she was supposed to be the CIA station chief, or in charge of embassy security or something. She does no work whatsoever (even when there are important developments going on), allows herself to be pushed around. She's totally the anti-Carrie. I guess she's just there to be JI's love interest - that could have been me! Yeah, when Debbie and Charlie (the other character, along with JI and Red, whom I like) stuffed Josh in the trunk, allI could think about was that kid was going to be pretty dammed hot. I could go on, but I might not be able to stop myself ranting.
  15. I'm pretty sure there are 2 episodes left. Lots of time for massive amounts of gore, killing, suspense etc. before (hopefully) all the loose threads are wrapped up in the last 15 min.
  16. Ugh, so many stomach-turning moments! I can't believe Vincent would expose himself like that in Dr, Allerdyce's room, taking no precautions at all even though he knew that it was likely some kind of tranmittable parasite (sorry if my science is wrong). Couldn't he have examined her on the other side of the door, those lumps were big enough. Sorry to see the Tooch bite the dust. He was a great character.
  17. thuganomics85: I absolutely agree with everything in your post. Thanks for articulating for me.
  18. I can't even watch the rest of the game this evening. Ugh, "investment" instead of ingot when referring to gold bars? Easiest questions EVER, but lots of headscratching TS ones: Nobody (in the RUssia category in DJ) knew Pasternak wrote Dr, Zhivago?
  19. I'm enjoying watching this (especially this episode, because a lot more information was provided) more than I thought I would. I didn't see the French version, so any comparisons I make (don't worry, to myself) are with this and Resurrection, I guess because they're both based on the same source material, and Michelle Forbes. Poor Lena - not only has been carrying around a heavy load of survivor's guilt, but she has the worst parents. She's right - they (especially the mom) don't care that she is dying right in front of them, I guess they are totally consumed by the "miracle child." I absolutely cannot believe that the parents weren't aware of the nature of Camille's wounds. Lena didn't even see the back of Camille's body at the funeral home (the friend warned her not to touch), but even so, she is able to draw a connection with what's happening to her now and what happened to Camille. I thought Tommy is rather interesting - on the one hand, I liked him (and how he treated both Rowan and Cloe) a lot, but on the other, the stalking was creepy. He may tell himself it was to prevent Rowan from harming herself (which I totally believe) but, really, wouldn't just talking to/supporting her be more effective? Poor Victor! And I say that, even after (I assume) he killed the neighbor. For a child, who is literally alone without friends or family, to be confronted by (again, I assume) one of the men who killed him and his mother, must be awful. Finally, much as I love her as an actress, I was sorry to see Michelle Forbes here. It's too easy to think of her character on Resurrection, so I hope she is able to dial it down. p.s. Thanks for the episode threads!
  20. Count me in, too. I didn't watch Season 1 when it was on, because I am not at all interested in spy stuff from the 1980s. I was really bored, we had just gotten Netflix (or maybe Amazon prime) and season 1 was available, and I started watching it. Now, I really love it.
  21. I enjoyed tonight's game, which really hasn't been the case for a while - either I didn't like contestants for some reason, too easy clues or just general irritation with the show. I thought all 3 contestants had a good base of knowledge, the bets were gutsy and the categories were interesting. I also though FJ was pretty easy - 1948 - Old Testament, but if you didn't know whenthe state of Israel was established, I can see that it might be difficult. Amtrak was an especially ridiculous answer.
  22. While at first I wondered why they were bugging the mail-bot (because really, who talks about sensitive info in the hallway), I realize that intelligence-gathering was not the point. Using it to frame Gene has multiple benefits for the Russians: not only will he be seen as the mole, but it will reassure Martha, that she was not the only one bugging the office.
  23. Has Harold completely forgotten about his wife, Grace? I know she believes he is dead, and is in Italy with a new identity, but it seems like it's hardly been long enough for him to have gotten over his grief.
