  1. This is exactly why I have been so dissatisfied with this season - I don't care about Ava, and (to me, at least) she just sucks up way too much screen time that could better be utilized by other characters. Raylan versus Boyd shouldn't be the distraction - that should be the main story.
  2. I think that Martha has not been treated as a serious suspect so far because of the sexism rampant in society at that time, and as shown specifically in the FBI office. She also doesn't fit the stereotype of a "honeypot" type of spy. Edited to add: I should have been clearer - Martha is exactly the type of person to be a honeypot target, but not the seductress. I think that, due to her loneliness and the sexist environment at work, Martha was extremely vulnerable, which does not make her stupid.
  3. My dog would love to Skype, too. She really liked that segment, or at least the cute doggie demonstrator. I thought the young woman was terrific, and I would have invested in her. I didn't understand Mark's objection, that it works in conjunction with a tablet - I don't carry mine around with me, so it could be used. Or, just buy an inexpensive one. I didn't understand the T-shirt business - can't you already buy a T-shirt showing a particular state? It may not have the word "home" on it, but is that really necessary? Nothing against the little girl and her father, but wasn't it obvious that the real people running that company were the parents?
  4. Isn't that enough reason? It works for me.
  5. Has anyone gotten a Lumio, the folding lamp? I loved it on the show, and even though I don't think it's all that useful, I really want one. I can't decide between the regular or mini.
  6. Thank you! I didn't even realize that was him, although it does seem kind of obvious now. Of course, now I'm waiting for him to giggle. Wasn't too interested in this episode, since it was just Frank being Frank and Claire turning to the dark(hair) side. I knew (although I had hoped not) that Doug was still on Team Underwood, which is a shame, as I would love to see the series continue with Pres. Dunbar.
  7. I understand why, as investors, joe and Tim chose the brother/sister team (higher potential revenue/NYC area), but I am sorry they didn't pick the the Peculiar people - they seemed like more fun, more professional, more mature, less entitled and their food looked good. I admit my bias here - I am sometimes in that area, and would love to have a good gastropub available.
  8. About the cure: I get that the virus is mutating, but why not match the time traveling with the cure? In other words, send Cole back to 2033 with the 2033 cure and wipe out the virus. Or, is the splintering not that precise?
  9. That was great! Better writing than 95% of this show. I'm in it for Jason Isaacs, but I'm finding it hard going. My bar of believability is set pretty low, but this show is barely making it over. There were no operatives who could have joined Peter in his chase throughout the city? Why is an FBI agent taking the lead on this? Nothing bad better happen to Red!
  10. I didn't see the French version, but I like this. I watched episode 2 (which was on demand) before episode 1, but it wasn't a problem because it was (relatively) easy to distinguish characters and follow the story lines. It's interesting (well, to me at least) to compare this to Resurrection, which I also liked. Is the Mark Pellegrino character (Jack?) really wealthy? The house is super nice and he mentioned that he owned the bar. One thing that did seem odd to me - Simon seemed like a nice guy in the flashback, but he's a total creep now.
  11. But he didn't clean up! I thought the point of Claire cracking the eggs in the pan was a reference to breaking eggs to make an omelet. I think Frank may be the egg.
  12. I'm almost embarrassed to admit this, but I've always been a huge Kai fan from the very beginning. Of course, he is extremely violent and skeezy, but I find his character to be strangely compelling. I guess I like the elements of faith that underlay his SL. Maybe it's the writing, maybe good acting, but I really watch the show when he is on-screen. I had no doubt that he would rescue himself once Emily was out of the way, and that look he gave Hood when the sheriff refused to rescue him was priceless. I was totally bored by the Job/Lucas backstory, because I just didn't see how it was necessary. Of course, Deva's nonbiological father is a much better parent to her than her biological father. I'm so sick of her, and her reckless actions (yes, I understand that her world has been upended, but what a brat. Ugh) I don't mind if Job/Sugar/Cana don't survive, so that will leave more time for Kai and Burton (without glasses).
  13. Man, I have to give this show a lot of credit - talk about show, not tell!
  14. Maybe I've watched/read too much spy stuff, but when the FBI agent gave Stan the paper with the names of the FBI agents killed, I was sure he was passing Stan a note warning him about Martha, especially since the immediately proceeding scene (I think) was the FBI guy telling Martha that the mailbot had no more classified files.
  15. Poor Boyd - he's been betrayed by literally everyone close to him, except Carl. I was really hoping he was going to kill Ava, so I wouldn't have to see her or her denim jacket again. Much as I love this show(especially the actors), I just can't get past the 2 ludicrous story lines: that Avery and Katherine need to conspire to buy up land for potential marijuanna growing, or that Ava needed to become a CI to get out of jail.
  16. I wonder if this show isn't using Ben as an unreliable witness, as was done in the Affair. We've been seeing everything from his POV, but what if that is not what is actually happening? I like Ryan P., but I'm sick of The Scowling Detective and the off-key wife. Despite that, I will probably keep watching.
  17. Rapunzel and Hipshooter, thanks for the clarification. I guess I wasn't paying enough attention.
  18. I didn't get the impression that they were taken by the drug guys - I thought it was the Colonel, who is looking for the criminals who robbed him. Although it is clear that he suspects Cana (correctly, of course), I wonder if he thought she was working with Kai, who is the top criminal in Banshee.
  19. I think Rebecca will kill or try to kill Emily, since Emily made such a big deal of flaunting her sexual relationship with Kai in front of Rebecca. I loved Job's green jacket, was glad that the minimal amount of Cana actually had a purpose (although the caper stuff is completely uninteresting to me). I also don't care about Deva - why should I? I recognize that she is a teenager who is dealing with a certain amount of upheaval in her life, but still. I hope the endgame is Kai becoming sheriff. Yeah, I know it's not likely, but it would complete the circle.
  20. I'd pay a decent amount to have something to keep the bed cool, although I'm not sure I'd pay $500. On the other hand, I bet there are a lot of menopausal women who would feel it is a bargain. I admit I'm kind of old school - I use a hot water bottle to warm up . I was trying to think of something mildly risqué here, but . . .
  21. Wow, except for FJ, I thought that just about all of tonight's questions were RIDICULOUSLY easy. I have to admit, my guess was "algebra" for FJ, just because it sounds kind of Arabic.
  22. Boy, I'll say. I give her credit for betting it all, but there's something about her that just rubs me the wrong way. I really don't like the "retired homemaker" thing, even with the clarification. I was sorry Brian didn't win.
  23. I have to say, I am glad I watched the Squatty Potty segment - I didn't even know there were such products, or that they actually make anatomical sense. Now, I just can't decide between the Sqatty Potty and the EasyGoPro. I totally loved the Lumio and was going to buy one, until I realized that there is really very little I could use it for. I still might get one, just to sit and open it repeatedly, to put myself in a good mood.
