  1. One of the biggest problems I have with this show is the complete lack of charm/chemistry/personality of Mark, who even in his wedding picture was nowhere good looking enough to get to first base with track star Beth, much less impregnate her. I guess I can fanwank that Beth was drunk or something, but that doesn't explain the inn-keeper.
  2. I totally agree with just about all of the above comments, especially the lack of "town connectedness." 3. Syfy's website shows Nov. 5 (11:00) for the new season.
  4. Not a very entertaining game. None of the contestants was impressive, or engaging. As has been pointed out, some puzzling TS - Dunkirk! Ugh! I'm predisposed to like guys named Matthew (my son's name), but I just cannot watch another game with this guy. I had to laugh at the "I'm sexy" category - all women and Jon Hamm.
  5. I am completely disgusted - that was the easiest FJ EVER. I am glad the guy (sorry, can't remember his name - Alexander ?) because he seems pleasant, as well as knowledgeable and makes a point of clapping for competitors.
  6. This is what I don't understand - if whoever wanted Sandy dead (his contact, ISI, US), wouldn't it just be simpler to shoot him somewhere and make it look like a robbery or something? Murder by mob seems a bit uncertain.
  7. I can't believe Mickey Doyle has become my favorite character. What a cockroach! and I mean that in the most complimentary way.
  8. Not to beat this to death, but I think the Apartment Managrer's size was a very good directorial choice. While she was super nice and provided a safe connection for Quinn when he badly needed it, she also seemed to me to be sexually needy. I was concerned that she might be seen as having taken advantage of an extremely drunk Quinn. I assumed that the guys who roughed up Aayam either were or were sent by the U.S.
  9. I wondered about this, too. The point isn't that she was wearing a tank top at the gallery or bar - but she was wearing it during the action sequences. I thought it was just sexist bs, didn't realizable she had a medical excuse (hot flashes). Thanks, Aquarian1, for pointing that out.
  10. I just watched the Maple Leafs (leaves?) episode, and I like it a bit more than the US version, mainly because of the non-Alvin judges (I'm tired of Gordon and Joe) and it seems like they show more of the actual cooking. I also like that the judges tried all the dishes. I don't know what she's like as a cook, but I am rooting for Dora the plumber, because of her name/job/personality. Don't like Eric's pissy face, or Kaila's eyes. Everyone else seems ok, at least to watch.
  11. Don't mean to offend anyone who liked this episode, but I thought it was pathetic. It was just full of strange directing choices - like why was Eleanor's skirt so transparent? Who made sure her Daddy had corrective lenses, since I assume his original glasses probably wouldn't have made through his years of abuse)? Why was Linder even in that truck? Why was Linder wearing scrubs at the end? At least he and Eva had a happy ending. If it does get another season, I'll probably watch it, but I've come to hate Sonya - her writing is so inconsistent (she's all by the rules except when she's not), she's an awful detective, why can't she just use her phone as a phone without that stupid earbud?
  12. Very unimpressive, uninspiring game. Agree that it was amazing that no one got the FJ, although the Churchill guess wasn't bad. I can't put my finger on it, but there is just something about the champ (Elisha?) that seems a little odd, maybe her way of talking.
  13. I hate to admit it, but perhaps the army was right when they said Liza was too "unstable" to work. That was so sad. Unless the Abbie/Elodie SL ends in Abbie becoming a nihilist and burning down the camp, I am totally uninterested. Loved the Frank/Charlie/Lazar stuff, hate the thought that Meeks will on purpose/inadvertently betray Frank. I was somewhat concerned about the Private Dunleavy/Callie SL - I hope he wasn't smirking when he read Callie's message, That wouldn't really have ocurred to me until that other soldier mentioned the other girlfriends. I really like the way they are showing the ramifications of the Sid situation, and how it continues to have an effect.
  14. OttoDbusdriver: thank you for watching this so I don't have to. I give up, which is totally unusual for me.
  15. Yeah, I'm watching but I don't really know why, except that it's the last season and I'm pretty OCD about finishing things. This episode was pathetic - Mara is way too one-note (yes, we know, she is evil), and both Nathan and Duke are beyond boring. Can't someone take some action? Action that actually moves the plot along? Even the pancakes weren't enough to satisfy me.
  16. My projection (totally unspoiled): Jeff's the daddy, which changes him into a "good" person, so he and Juliette end up together. This leaves Avery for Scarlett, Gunther stays with Zoe. Luke hits Rayna, so she ends up with Deacon, as it always was meant to be. That leaves Will - and Teddy? My point being: if the show wants to be soap-operish, then really go for it!
  17. I'm sure she is a lovely person, and I love her voice - but Heather just sucks the energy out of me. I can feel myself (especially my mental process) slowing WAY down. . . .
  18. Don't mean to offend anyone, but that was SO boring and predictable - Jennifer . . . Jennifer . . . Jennifer . . . . Jennifer . . . . Jennifer . . .. . .bwa bwa bwa . . . .Jennifer . . . Jennifer . . . Jennifer And Nathan, maybe it might have been a good idea to let Duke know that it is his denial that was causing the trouble - BEFORE - you trigger another round of denial by breaking the sad news to Duke.
  19. Easiest double jeopardy answers EVER. This show is almost not worth watching anymore. I.dont mind less than impressive contestants if I'm learning something, but this has neither interesting contestants nor material.
  20. I very much liked this episode, since it focused on the work - the character aspects (Glenn helping Liza, Paul's rather sordid past, Abby finally learning something) were all appropriate and advanced the story. Does anyone know who played Dr. Hogarth? Not on IMDB yet, but he is very familiar. Much as I like this show, I can't imagine it will be picked up or renewed.
  21. What a mess. I didn't read the book, and don't think I should have to make sense of the show. At this point, all I have is just some general idea of what's involved (possession of successive bodies, one of whom made a deal to kill off the others). I didn't think I was the kind of viewer who had to be led by the hand, but at this point, we should know just not what is happening, but why. And, hate to be mean, but the Madison actress is just not capable of handling the role - I guess we're just supposed to be struck by the contrast of her youthful appearance and her tough-talking violent Marcus character, but she can't carry it off. I'm watching this for John Simm (do love his reading glasses), but he should have stayed on Mars. Thanks for the Gaeta reference - I knew he looked familiar.
  22. I was surprised that Claire didn't make her fictcious love a merchant, or someone harder to identify than a soldier. Other than that, i thought it was a very compelling episode.
  23. Ha ha, I totally agree. I'm watching this, but I'm starting to wonder why. I don't hate it, but I don't really like it either. It just seems like one of those shows where everything is supposed to be potentially significant (like the big 9 on the wall of the MArcus/Fraim scene). Frankly, I just don't want to put that much effort into figuring the show out,I just want to sit back and enjoy it. Best part of the episode for me: Everybody head wagging to the Time Has Come Today song.
  24. Yeah, I've come to like this show, too. After watching the most recent 2 episodes, I REALLY want to see what happens next. Please SyFy, you must have some holes in your schedule you can use, right? Thanks to DVR, I don't care when they air, as long as they do. It's really amazing how the characters have developed over the series.
