  1. The always-delightful Timothy Olyphant on Conan the other night: http://teamcoco.com/video/full-episode-mon-2-9-timothy-olyphant-rebecca-frankel-and-musical-guests-punch-brothers?playlist=x;eyJ0eXBlIjoidGFnIiwiaWQiOjl9
  2. That's what I was thinking too. They've put Tim in the bad guys' company too many times--like Season 4 with Colt. As grateful as I am for more Tim scenes I'd prefer they just keep him in the office with Raylan where he's safe. I'm starting to think Ava will wind up in witness protection rather than die but if anyone kills her I'm now leaning towards Katherine rather than Boyd (who I would have suspected after last week). I was scared for Ava's safety the entire time they were together.
  3. I'm starting to feel this way too but Season 5 scarred me a little too much for me to trust them yet. But the abundance of Tim so far has almost made up for the lack of Tim last season. Almost. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch Tombstone the same again. I've never been afraid of Sam Elliot until last night but if that had been me I would have caved the moment he came through the door and just given him the land for free just to get rid of him.
  4. I laughed for a long, long time at this. It was just like last season when Boyd blew the guy up with his cigarettes--so unexpected and so hilarious.
  5. Thank you, Tim, for correcting Calhoun on Occam's razor before I could. This is why I love you.
  6. First of all, I love Old Man Dean and his unfamiliarity and annoyance with modern technology and fads. And Like others have said it was nice to see an good old haunting again. I am confused though by Sam being annoyed at Dean wanting to fight the Mark on his own. Isn't that what Sam wanted him to do a couple episodes ago? Am I misremembering that? Or have the writers forgotten what they wrote?
  7. I've said it a dozen times on these threads but Season 4 has always been my favorite. A lot of that has to do with Tim getting his own story line but the mystery was a lot of fun. I didn't have a clue of who Drew Thompson was until they came right out and said it and I LOVED that choice (even though it's two years old I don't want to spoil it for people who are catching up because it was a great reveal)--I always liked Great season. I started rewatching Season 1 and in the very second episode, when Raylan is transporting Dewey, he threatens to put him in the trunk. I didn't realize that was a running gag from the very start but that threat (and when he actually carries it out) pleases me to no end. If I could put everyone I think talks to much into the trunk of a car I would be a much happier person.
  8. Agreed. And it's not just Dean we've seen drinking in excess all these years. Bobby, John, Rufus, Ellen...even Sam goes on the occasional bender. Hunters like to drink--a lot. It's just what hunters do. I'm fairly sure that if I saw half the shit they've seen I'd be wasted 24/7. The fact that Dean is walking around upright and not curled up in a corner sobbing is a testament to how okay he really is. Now, if this was real life and Dean was a real person with a drinking problem I'd feel differently. But the dude went to hell--I think he deserves all the drinks he wants. And if the alcohol is activating the MoC, then it might be a problem. But they haven't been very clear on that so until there's a concrete correlation between alcohol consumption and Dean hulking out, they can keep their After School Special to themselves. Huh, apparently I'm an enabler.
  9. I was thinking of season 4 when Rachel went off with Raylan to help him recover the cash his bartender girlfriend stole--that he wasn't allowed to have. She offered to call in sick to keep tooling around with him. And then later on in the same season when they went up to Nobles to find Ellen May, Raylan talked Rachel into going with him to pester Boyd and leaving Tim to deal with the search. Maybe it's not so much of Rachel bending the rules as it is her enabling Raylan in his Raylanness. Which I guess she's still trying to do but it seems like there's an ulterior motive now when before it seemed like she was just having fun running around with him.
  10. I didn't get that either. The only thing I could think was that he didn't want to leave Ava alone at home or at the bar with creepy Walker and Avery lurking around. But she could have just sat in the car and waited for him to drive her home so that explanation really doesn't cut it for me. Maybe they'll still be at the hotel next week and it'll make more sense.
  11. Total speculation but I have a bad feeling she's trying to get him to "go all Raylan" on someone so she can take him down along with Boyd. I will be furious if this is true because I've always liked Rachel and Raylan teamed up and it's been fun when she has fun bending the rules with him. YES! I could listen to those two talk for hours. Every time I try to convince someone to watch the show the first thing I say is, "The writing is amazing." And the second, of course, is, "Timothy Olyphant is crazy handsome and awesome." I find it weird that they're not giving Ava more time. Her points about having just been released from prison and being afraid of Boyd seem pretty valid to me. One false step with Boyd and she'll wind up in the bottom of a mine shaft. Everyone yelling at her has dealt with Boyd enough over the years to know how dangerous he is--it seems like they could cut her some slack.
  12. Hells no. I'd rather be a danger to everyone around me than go through that again :) I'm wondering if it's some sort of network note--like TPTB just now noticed that Dean drinks a little too much and decided, "Won't someone think of the children?" Otherwise I can't figure out why this is just now being brought up so much. They joked about when they were fighting the Japanese alcohol demon and Sam asked if Dean could even get drunk anymore and now it seems weirdly--I don't know...preachy for lack of a better word.
  13. Now that you mention it, yeah--between Young Dean and the villains eating their victims. It also reminded me the "The Benders" but I'm not sure why--just the tone and color of the episode I guess. I was a little disappointed we didn't get a "Friggin' witches!" out of Young Dean because I quote that an awful lot (usually as a random curse when something pisses me off--not because I frequently deal with witches). Yup, you just made me love JA a little bit more--a hot guy who really knows how to drive an awesome car? Yes, please. If he doesn't have one already I really hope Jensen gets one of the Impalas when the show ends--like John Scheider owning a General Lee--he just has to have one.
  14. Yes, to both of these. I really liked the way he was just hanging out, having drinks with a pretty woman without him hitting on her or vice versa--just a nice, normal conversation and a couple of laughs between two good-looking people in a bar. And, yeah, I really liked both actresses too. Between this girl, young Dean, and the girls from the musical episode they've gotten some great teenagers this season. Claire's the only one I haven't been crazy about and that's probably due to her storyline more than the actor. I actually expected him to grump about the cake like he did when Sam accidentally brought him cake instead of pie a few seasons ago--I was surprised when he started eating it. I really missed JA throughout the episode (because a big reason I watch this show is for the eye candy) but I will admit the kid who played Young Dean was great. The first younger Young Dean is my favorite but this kid really nailed it. Was I the only one that flashed back to the Bugs Bunny cartoon with Hansel and Gretel where he just keeps repeating, "Hansel? Haaansel. Hansel?" over and over again? I was? Okay then... ETA: I was wondering about this because it looked like he was about to take out a couple extras on the side of the road. I was thinking that if it was a stunt driver he should be more careful but if it was JA then it was awesome. Apparently it was awesome :)
  15. I really expected her to agree with whatever Raylan wanted and then immediately tell Boyd what she was up to knowing there was no way she'd be able to keep it from him.
  16. Yet another episode I barely watched. I lasted for about 5 seconds of the first Katrina scene before screaming, "Why do you suck so much?!" and started fast-forwarding. I'm glad you all have more patience than me and that I can come here and fill in the blanks without actually having to watch Katrina--the suckiest suck that ever sucked. I didn't mind Henry too much--I at least watched his scenes. I agree with the other here that he's good in small doses. And better when he's not whining about his mommy/daddy issues. I'm sad about Frank being evil but at least he's getting more screen time--and scenes with Abbie--so I'll take what I can get. Yeah, if you're going to do a crappy storyline at least give it to an actor who can, well, act. This sort of story with Katrina as the focus would be all sorts of hell. So naturally I'm sure that's exactly what they'll do.
  17. I like to tell myself that if he was only "headed in that direction" he was still sober enough to drive and only seemed drunk because he was annoyed and tired.
  18. Here’s the one that popped into my head—the second-half of which Princess Sparkle quoted up top: Nicky Augustine: “Look at you, Mr. Crowder. You’re a well-dressed man; you got a sense of style. You got your shirt buttoned all the way up to the top…. I gotta ask, where’d you get all those teeth?” Boyd: “Courtesy of the American tax payers while serving our great nation in Desert Storm.” And because I love all things Tim: Tim: How’s your leg? Tim’s war buddy, Mark: Well, doc says I need one more surgery. Pins pinch like hell. Tramadol helps some but I gotta tell you, much as oxy screwed up my life, it sure knocked out the pain. Tim: You try acupuncture? Mark: That needle bullshit? Tim: You remember Chewy, that CSAR Helo pilot—pulled us out of Sangin—karaoke badass? Mark: Yeah. Tim: Said it helped him with his back. Mark: Maybe it’d help you with your menstrual cramps then. Tim: Naw, those went away when I got on birth control.
  19. Well, to be fair we've been invested in her hopeful death, and making fun of her terrible wig and whispering, and hating everything about her.... So he's not technically wrong--just deluded ;)
  20. Ordinarily I would say that if Tim dies I'm quitting the show but since there won't be a show to quit after this season that's not much of a threat. He can't die--he just can't. I will be a wreck if that happens. I bet Wynn makes it out okay along with Art and Rachel. Wynn is too slippery not to make it out alive and killing Art before he retires would be too cliche. And someone needs to take over the office in the end and Rachel's really the only candidate for that so I think she'll be fine. I can see Boyd dying at Ava's hand (mirroring her husband's murder) or the other way around. Alternately I can see Boyd dying at Raylan's hand but I don't think Boyd would kill Raylan and make it out alive. If Raylan dies, Boyd's gotta die. I can also see Boyd killing Tim *sob* and Raylan killing Boyd out of revenge. Or Ty killing Tim *double sob* and Rachel killing Ty for revenge. Please, oh please, don't kill Tim.
  21. I think the employee that's possibly stealing from her is supposed to be Boyd because they think he did get the cash from the bank. I don't, however, know why she's sending Boyd to rob Sam Elliot.
  22. Dewey killed at least one guy last season. That's one of the reasons they were irritated that he was being released from prison because he admitted to it on tape but later (in act zero of this episode) said he was just kidding (which is a ridiculous reason to release someone from prison--Raylan's right to be pissed). I can't remember if he killed anyone else.
  23. But Good Charlie could sedate herself and it would take out Dark Charlie without being anywhere near her.
  24. Hell yes. It was his voice but that was not his face. That was all kinds of wrong. Still, it's Sam Elliot so: awesome. I'm seriously loving the amount of Tim we're getting. Between the random internet baby and his tricking the henchmen in the bar, this episode was chock-full of Tim goodness. And it was kinda sweet that he Googled what age babies are supposed to walk for Raylan. It's been so long since I saw Deadwood that I'd forgotten just how awful (in a good way) Garrett Dillahunt's characters can be. After years of seeing him be a lovable doofus on Raising Hope I was worried I wouldn't be able to see him as a villain. But holy crap that dude is CREEPY.
  25. From the recap: I'd be okay with his change in diet if this is the outcome :) Something else that occurred to me last night...did Dean quit drinking cold turkey? For someone who's been drinking pretty regularly for at least 10 years now shouldn't he have the shakes or something? They showed him shaking when he had the knife in his hand but nothing that pointed towards alcohol withdrawal. If anyone here is a Leverage fan there was a great episode where the functioning alcoholic had to go to rehab and Timothy Hutton played the hell out of the withdrawal effects. I would have expected something more like that for a character who woke up one day and decided to change his diet.
