  1. The selfie bit seemed like something Colbert would've done. I miss him so much.
  2. FIFA's president or whatever is named Sepp Blatter. I laugh every time because it sounds so made up, like a character in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
  3. Those with Roku: Have you noticed any problems with Roku 3 v. Roku 2?
  4. I used to have buffering issues with Netflix, which I access through a blu-ray player, but it was because my wireless router was an antique. Since I got a new one, everything is fine. Ooh. Except if I'm in my bedroom watching on the Kindle, it has gone to buffering once or twice. It's the room farthest away from the router. I've considered a Roku but both HDMI slots on the TV are already occupied.
  5. Simone didn't bother me at all. I hoped she'd go to the finals and it would be her v. Dwayne. The one who did make my ears bleed and whose elimination I cheered was Juliana. The screeching, the girrrrling, the endless references to her children--did you know she has 4 daughters? Jesus. I wish she'd gone first.
  6. Does X Files pre- or post-date the David E. Kelly shows because Chris Carter is the first showrunner I think I was really aware of.
  7. I can't count the number of times I've wanted to drop a cone of silence on students who can't shut up in the library.
  8. Would you believe we were this close to getting those?
  9. You know he's on his verandah, sipping a mint julep and trying to recover from the vapors.
  10. ITA. A lot of the new series sound like they should be limited series because they won't be able to sustain the story past mid-year, let alone a second season.
  11. When serialized shows take long breaks, which they all seem to do now, the previouslies can be helpful on that first episode back. But why can't they be trimmed from the DVDs or made optional on the DVDs and streaming versions?
  12. Oh, how I miss those early fun, informative days of Burn Notice. Sometimes it's hard to remember how breezy and joyful the USA shows were at their beginnings. In spite of a few missteps with irritating new characters, even before the disastrous final season, I think BN did a good job at bringing in new characters with Jesse and Agent Pearce. Also, Brennan is NOT dead, damn it! Larry, I don't care, but Brennan was gold.
  13. Mad Men UO: I don't care who gets custody of the kids.
  14. Good lord. That woman was seriously annoying.
  15. I was just thinking about all the great commercials Ebay did when it was new and shiny. The one with Christian Borle singing "That's on Ebay" to "That's Amore" pops up, but I can't find a good quality video for the very first one, with the guy singing "Ebay" to "My Way." There was also one with a woman using that tune, plus one using "Do You Know the Way to San Jose" and another using "On Broadway."
  16. I'm rooting for Wendi. I don't mind Mo and I have no idea who John Berman is, I just really like Wendi. Those were motorcycles? I thought they were cars! So I got hung up on Ford and...some other carmaker not named Ford.
  17. I quote Dale's PD narration often, at least this one line: "The facts are these..."
  18. It's retitled MI-5 in the U.S. and Netflix used to have all of it. I don't know if it's still there, though.
  19. I'm confused by the double negative in "I don't think" when added onto a sentence when "I do think" is clearly meant. Lately, I see and hear this everywhere. Example: That's not the way to construct a sentence, I don't think. But you DO think it isn't the way to construct a sentence! Why are you saying "I don't think" when you mean "I think"?! Stop it! Stop it right now, damn it!
  20. I don't think Tom Brady is particularly handsome. I'm not saying he's Quasimodo or anything, but I don't get all the hoopla.
  21. But will Stephen be on, that's what I want to know.
  22. At least one of the panelists snarked on it, too.
