  1. Everyone should've thanked that guy's dog Larry. That would've been funny. Damn. Graham Moore. And Ben Affleck's inability to crack a smile continues.
  2. I'm just catching up, fastforwarding through most and trying to stop at the points that you all mentioned or that were mentioned in day-after recaps. P. Arquette: If you're going to make an impassioned plea for something, you might want to make sure you're quite clear about what it is. And you wrote it down so there's no excuse for flubbing it. My mother had Alzheimers and I was a mess during Tim McGraw singing Glenn Campbell's song, I enjoyed the Lego song when I could understand what they were saying, I fast-forwarded through the rest. Travolta reminds me of the robot Santa in The Santa Claus 3. And his gripping Menzel's face was very odd. Loved the Polish guy. OK, just arrived at the SoM tribute. I won't disagree with those who find Plummer hot in that movie, but it is definitely not his best acting. After a lifetime of viewing that movie, I still have no idea what his character is about. He's all over the place. But nice to look at. Aww, that was lovely. Skirt-clasping aside, excellent job. And Julie Andrews rules. Ooh--Julie Andrews, Helen Mirren, and Judi Dench should co-host next year. That's as far as I've gotten so far.
  3. I can always tell when a show is filmed in Vancouver or Toronto because there's a bunch of people who inevitably show up.
  4. Browncoat and others who were shortchanged by ABC like me--I went to Hollywood Reporter and looked at the slides.
  5. Umbellina, the trial of the guy who is accused of murdering her husband and another man is still going on. Jinx aradia22!
  6. She says it's "actually quite comfortable" but come on, it's going to be like sitting on one of those massage seat covers for cars, the ones made of wooden beads.
  7. I haven't seen this Ora person or Octavia Spencer. I've also missed all of the camera-eye-fucking mentioned earlier. My night has been wasted!
  8. I'm going to reverse a comment from upthread--I like Felicity Jones' dress but would like it more in another color.
  9. Moore talks about her dogs--she can do no wrong in my eyes. Go, Frannie Hughes!
  10. I keep thinking about Lady Gaga in the Sound of Music tribute. She's either going to come out dressed as one of the creepy goat puppets, or wearing them.
  11. Is that why we never see them in the same place at the same time?
  12. Agree Dakota Johnson's dress does not flatter her, but I'm more amazed at how inarticulate she was. Two actors for parents and she's like she's never seen a camera before.
  13. I watched the fashion cam feed last year because I had to work and was very annoyed at the lack of ID. By the time I could figure who a few people were, they were gone.
  14. OMG! I just saw someone wearing SLEEVES! I thought they'd ceased to exist in 2008.
  15. Lorelei Linklater's dress is only part of her problem--she looks like she's ducking to go under a low door.
  16. It is nice to see color, I agree. The style looks a little too old for her, though.
  17. Through the miracle of picture-in-picture, I'm watching E and ET on POP (I have no idea). Patricia Arquette looking not crazy in white and black. The hair is a little messy. At least, I think that was her--I always watch these things on mute and have no idea who most of the people are unless their names are shown on screen. aradia22, as you've probably deduced, yes this is also where we discuss the red carpet.
  18. I laughed out loud at the "Stick it!" GoDaddy spot.
  19. My horrible PBS station (fuck you, CPTV) has decided to show episodes 9 & 10 only on their back-up channels which aren't available to viewers without an antenna. They aren't on PBS video yet, either. I cannot express how much I loathe CPTV and their routine bumping of shows all over the place and their cryptic "Members Choice" blocks where they don't tell you what's going to be shown. They are by far the worst PBS station I've ever encountered and it pisses me off that I can't watch NYC or Boston's stations instead.
  20. Only on TV is the first sign of murder an unlocked door. TV killers never close the door on their way out unless they're setting up a locked room mystery.
