  1. She plays a recurring character on Jane the Virgin.
  2. Yeah, not sure how stealing an ambulance was gonna improve his situation.
  3. It's been over 25 years since I did inpatient psych intake, but way back when, the criteria included lack of success in outpatient treatment; danger to self or others; evidence of psychotic break, etc. Jo seems a much more appropriate candidate for intense outpatient treatment.
  4. I'm too lazy to go back and quote posts, but... I thought it was clearly shown that Jo was going in for inpatient treatment. However, unless the criteria have changed since I did intake for a psychiatric hospital, no way does she meet the criteria for inpatient treatment. Not a single one. My take on the Amelia-Link conversation was that Amelia was responding to Link's expressed need to know where things with the two of them were headed. I interpreted it as her saying I don't have an answer for you yet, but I still want to see where this leads. I didn't see it as a breakup. I'm still not interested in Glasses, but his mom is very sweet. I was hoping Jackson or Maggie (or both) would be killed off in the final scene. She is downright insufferable, he's not much better. All their scenes in the last two eps were essentially filler. Meredith saying "I love you" to Deluca was absurd.
  5. It reminds me of Denis Leary's character Tommy on Rescue Me. Back in the TWOP forum days, we used to refer to Tommy's "Magical Unicorn Dick" because seemingly every woman he met was DTF.
  6. If you mean wannabe Evel Knievel's wife, it was Charisma Carpenter. Man, her career has tanked.
  7. I think she actually went by Dr. Helen in her pre-Max TV career.
  8. I read that he's been a fixture on the SoCal music scene for years, so probably they'll take that angle with his visit...venues he's performed in and some of his music buddies. I'm not interested in Alejandro or his music -- though his first performance last night was his best of the season IMO -- but the judges have been relentlessly pimping him since his audition and I'm pretty sure that's why he's gotten this far. I've read that various contestants were recruited by AI this season, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was one of them. The AI machine clearly wants him to win.
  9. Katy was on GMA this morning and when asked about the show she said "I love Alejandro. I love everyone." 🙄 They are going to keep pushing Alejandro until the bitter, boring end, I guess. She also said how much she loves her job because "I get to mentor all these kids." Ummm...what mentoring?
  10. It was absurd even for this show. But the boss was apparently in on it. So ridiculous. Not to mention. I don't know many workplaces that would respond so favorably to a short-time employee's existential crisis.
  11. Yeah...a death isn't poignant or touching if you haven't done the work to get the viewers invested in the character/relationship. There was no point in having her return. And her letter to Christopher was bullshit.
  12. Yes! I think she specifically said personal photos. I had the same reaction! I was really disappointed to hear that from Barbara. I wasn't expecting that from her, but then again, I saw an interview with her once on GMA where he said her husband is forbidden from calling her at work. I liked her before I heard this.
  13. Well, we saw her picking a wedgie out of her crack...I'd say that qualifies.
  14. Katy's 34, so she's got a good 15-16 years on Laine. I never liked the weird flirtation between young male contestants and late-40s (now 50) JLo, either -- though at least IIRC it was mostly on the guys' side.
  15. I don't care that Jeremiah is gone since I find him boring -- but for Alejandro and Wade to still be in it is mind-boggling. Alejandro sounds the same on every song (falsetto coffee house) and Wade (phony Joe Cocker) should've been gone weeks (months?) ago. Then again, this is probably the worst top 5 in Idol history. Lauren Daigle was the best thing about this episode, and I'm not even familiar with her.
  16. Gina must have been looking to break out of the Jane image in the Netflix movie Someone Great. Mission accomplished.
  17. Someone posted a link in an earlier episode thread where he basically said the entire storyline has been heavily edited and doesn't portray an accurate picture of his family situation. They clearly haven't rejected him considering they were there in the audience.
  18. I would have liked to see Adam perform, but I'm sure he wan't even in the building on Sunday. They were lucky to get him as a mentor.
  19. Wow, I thought he looked great! I'm not much for facial hair, but he still looks very handsome to me, especially with those piercing eyes. His hair appeared to me to be highlighted blonde. I didn't notice any gray.
  20. I watched this episode solely for Adam Lambert. He was the most spectacular Idol contestant ever! I spent some time watching a few of his Idol performances on YouTube yesterday evening before the show, and it reminded me how very far the show has fallen. I was wondering how he would mentor this very blah group and I thought he was a great mentor. He treated each person with kindness and gave them constructive suggestions on how to deliver a song or improve their performance. Not winning Idol was probably the best thing that could have happened for Adam's career. I'm excited for the Queen/Adam show tonight. Sometimes I wonder if I am seeing the same performance the judges are. For example, I thought Jeremiah was very unemotional and disconnected. I think he's a perfectly fine singer (though not a "powerhouse" as Bobby Bones stated) but there is nothing really unique or interesting about him. I find Alejandro so boring, week in and week out. He just seems like your average busker to me, and I actually find his voice a little thin. When Wade came out on stage and started speaking the words in his fake voice, I burst out laughing. I really wanted to watch him but my husband insisted I fast-forward since neither of us can bear the fake -- and quite terrible -- "singing" voice. I gathered from the judges comments that he screwed up (again) -- and they seemed to be attempting to gently guide the audience not to vote for him -- but alas. I do have to wonder if Vote for the Worst is still around? ETA: This is a pretty good compilation of Adam's performance highlights from Season 8 (10 years ago!).
  21. That makes two of us. God, is he AWFUL.
  22. Do toxicology tests routinely include scorpion venom?
  23. I think this was my last episode. I'm not the target demographic, anyway.
  24. I would put Fantasia's "Summertime" in that category. Idol just straight-up sucks now and I'm watching for the snark at this point. Speaking of which, Katy looked absurd and I have no idea who/what she was supposed to be. Disney stuff is mostly lost on me. And it was no surprise that the "judges" had to ask how many episodes are left.
  25. Not at all weird, since it's been obvious all along that his singing voice on the show is completely affected and phony. I was just surprised he let it slip. That one line was the only decent thing he's sung.
