  1. Me too. I'm surprised the show acknowledged that the group (and the viewers) only know 3 (2) things about Wendy. And unfortunately, they don't seem to be in any rush to remedy that. Is William Fichtner leaving the show? I like Bonnie with Adam so I'm wondering why they are taking their story in this direction.
  2. I agree with you, but I've always heard that widowers who were married a long time are quick to pair up again, because they're not accustomed to being alone. Maybe that doesn't apply as much when there's a houseful of kids and grandkids and an endless parade of assorted other relatives -- but I'd be fine with Dan getting together with Katey Sagal's character by the end of the season.
  3. As soon as I saw the product was named "Mother" and they said they were doing shots, I knew it would be ACV. Only, it's not recommended to take it in shots (in fact, it's recommended to dilute and sip through a straw). They were very lucky to get that deal. That pimple thing was SO disgusting. I can't believe there is a market for such a thing. As an investment I would guess it would be on the same level as I Want To Draw A Cat For You. I'm too uncoordinated for BollyX or any dance workout, but I thought it was a great concept and was disappointed Rohan didn't end up offering a deal since he was so obviously interested.
  4. Lerome cracked me up with his gingerbread "leprechauns" made from what was so obviously a reindeer head cutter. I like glasses guy (Doug?) but he should have been the one to go this week. Dan crapped the bed in both heats but his tiramisu was more tiramisu-like than Doug's sorry little dessert languishing at the bottom of that trifle dish.
  5. I have the same question. I remember she was taking classes in the 90s-era flashback episode when she was also working as a restaurant server, but I wasn't aware she had quit school so close to a degree. I don't think this has been explained.
  6. Having seen Peter Krause in three shows now, it's my opinion that he doesn't have "heat" with anyone.
  7. The second I saw JLH's husband in the opening credits, I knew he was going to be the abusive ex we've been waiting for all season. Then the way he was stalking Chimney/Howie around and Chim's missing wallet...yep, it was totally obvious to me. I didn't catch the name "Bailey" and wouldn't have gotten that reference. The flashback of the aftermath of him beating her for not decorating the tree to his liking was chilling. I couldn't handwave the guy in the box on the plane being totally fine after a few chest compressions. It was disappointing that they spoiled Bobby's proposal in the previews from last week, so the whole episode there was no suspense. But other than that, this was a good episode.
  8. One of the firefighters said he had gone to see Twilight, so this was 2008.
  9. The way they are styling Karen's hair and makeup this season, she resembles Lesley Ann Warren. Grace badgering Noah into "I love you" was painful. As was the notion that she would need full-on consolation when she learned he had a kid. You're 50. Stop acting like a child. It's not funny. Hair & wardrobe continues to hate Debra Messing.
  10. This episode was cringe-worthy from start to finish. Maggie incessantly whining about her "problems" with Jackson while examining and operating on patients. cringe Meredith violating HIPAA. cringe Meredith and Deluca, who have zero chemistry and nothing in common. cringe Teddy announcing her pregnancy to a room full of people during surgery. cringe Glasses and Nico (?). cringe X a million Glasses is uber-annoying -- more annoying even than Maggie -- and I wanted nothing more than for them to be somehow electrocuted or otherwise eliminated in that ambulance. Another "couple" with zero chemistry and Glasses is just really childish and whiny. Jo and Alex will probably have to get re-married, depending on how long it's been since their wedding. Marriage licenses do expire, and I'm sure there was a reason it was mentioned.
  11. I swear Mary was on this show last season too. Am I hallucinating? Jordan was on one of the baking shows. I can't recall whether he won but he was very good, and very young.
  12. Probably from the preview for next week's ep.
  13. Exactly. This is a solid ensemble cast that didn't really have need or room for another member. I'd rather have Wendy get a full storyline than watch Kristen Johnson chew scenery for half of every episode. I don't mind the actress in small doses, but I'd rather have her be an occasional guest star than a prominent member of the ensemble.
  14. So I guess Tammy is a permanent cast addition...sigh.
  15. I enjoyed this episode, and I actually teared up when the couple passed away within minutes of one another. I don't expect that kind of reaction from 9-1-1! The show is a lot better this season than last, now that it is more character-focused and not just trying to bring the crazy camp every week (well, it's still there, but a bit more muted than S1). I agree, this felt very Valentine-y. I also noticed that the male couple's ages didn't add up, they should have been at least a decade younger, but I guess we'll have to handwave that. Nice to finally meet Michael's man. I mentioned in a previous episode thread that I was wondering where he was during the homecoming (?) photo scene.
  16. Watching their jaws literally drop was kinda satisfying. It gets old when everyone makes a show of being a good sport at elimination in these shows. I never knew using salted butter was a such a novel technique in cookie-baking, as the one eliminee made it seem.
  17. I can't answer your first question. However, we've been shown that Grace was sexually aggressive with Will over Thanksgiving break in college, just a few years after she was sexually assaulted. She was always shown as being sexually confident IMO. And while sexual confidence isn't mutually exclusive with being a survivor, it just doesn't really add up in this particular case IMO. Also, she has also always been shown as having a loving yet very contentious relationship with her mother, with no sign of the kind of bond that keeping such confidence would almost certainly develop. I guess we're supposed to assume that this was the real reason for their conflict and everything else we were shown was just window dressing?
  18. I hated Grace's storyline. I don't think it fits with what we already know about Grace. Between this and the stuff last week about Will's letter to Grace back in college, the show is getting a bit too heavy. If they want me to enjoy watching 50-ish adults still living like they did in their early 30s, they need to keep it light. I'm not saying sitcoms can't have serious storylines, but it almost seems like they're trying to add drama because they're out of comedic storylines. Or as though they are trying to bring relevance to the show in the #MeToo era. It seems to me that if Grace were a childhood victim of sexual assault, we would have had at least a hint about it by now. (I don't mean she would have told people).

    S02.E07: Haunted

I was hoping for a fun episode and this was downright depressing. And while the show weekly stretches credulity with everything our heroes are capable of, this ep required a level of suspension of disbelief I'm not capable of -- with Hen and co. seemingly knowing how to put down a horse and Athena solving a cold case in 24 hours or so. I don't remember Buck and Abby having this epic romance as described in his voice-over for his move-out. I remember them having a phone relationship followed by a few dates/sleepovers punctuated by her stress from caring for her mom.
  20. It boggles the mind that Jack Pearson could have raised three kids who consistently put their own needs ahead of their partners'.
  21. This new format of assigning each baker a theme AND a flavor is disappointing. It really limits their opportunities for creativity. I would rather they stick with assigning a theme and letting the bakers choose what flavors they want to incorporate.
  22. It bugs that I know more about Tammy than I do about Wendy. Glad to hear she'll only be around for one more episode.
