  1. I'm curious to know whether she ever sought treatment for her body dysmorphic disorder. It seems like that was dropped, but I'm not confident that she and addict Kevin would make a healthy match. And he woke up wanting to fly cross-country after sex with her. Hardly a harbinger of a great love story in the making. With an entire episode dedicated to Kevin and Sophie, my money's on them as endgame.
  2. It was Denise Dowse, and she was in the credits.
  3. Not to mention, it would be standard for a service charge to be built in on an order like that. The entire storyline was weak and just done for shock factor like S1 OG 9-1-1.
  4. I question anyone's use of the phrase "high-maintenance" in the early 80s. I didn't think it was a thing until When Harry Met Sally was released in 1989.
  5. That was pretty painful to watch. The original at least hooked us from the start with interesting, bonded characters. Here there is no bond between the house members because they all just met. Rob Lowe's character (don't know his name) is going to be tough to like with this ridiculous obsessive vanity over his hair, FFS. The character is essentially written to be unlikable. I really couldn't watch the Mad Hatter/mercury scenes because they were so awful. Was this one "ripped from the headlines?" Because when I Googled Mad Hatter syndrome, the symptoms barely mentioned suicidal tendencies although they did include hallucinations. I didn't even notice the guy didn't tip, because I was too busy wondering how that catering bill could possibly have added up to over $2,000. It seemed silly for trans guy (don't know his name either) to "do a thing" to deduce that the catered food was the culprit (and the other crew members saying he was "doing a thing" as if they all know and are familiar with each other seemed unlikely). I like the storyline for Liv Tyler's character, but wish someone else was acting it. I, too, must have dozed off during the wave pool scene... Not sure I will continue watching this.
  6. I'm surprised that I'm still watching this show. I find Roxy and Edie both unlikable. With Roxy, I think it must be the actress, because there is material there to make her somewhat sympathetic. Another actress might be able to pull off the tough/vulnerable chick and be likable. As for Edie, her storyline just bugs me, particularly this week's plot line with being a "new lesbian" whose partner encourages her to take a few other women out for a test drive. That exact plotline was already done on The Bold Type. She was extra cringeworthy this week. I've always thought Tim and Julia were going to end up back together -- not because there's any chemistry between them (there's not) but because there was no other reason to make him her ex. Julia is a fool for letting Donovan's bratty daughter ruin their relationship. Not many men would put up with all her drama.
  7. Yes, and I've had it on my list for a long time now. I just never seem to get around to watching it.
  8. I've never seen GBBO but in the American version, the hosts seem completely unnecessary. Surely Paul and Sherry could handle announcing the week's challenges? The time reminders really aren't necessary. Spice Adams comes across like he's just there to eat the baked goods. I really thought this would come down to Alex and Dana. They were the best and most consistent. It's a shame that one bad bake cancels out weeks of success. A flaw in the formula, IMO. Marissa really got the "hot mess" edit. She was lucky to make it to the finale, from what we were shown. Mistakes nearly every week and tears for the last few. I'm sure she's a lovely person and a very competent baker under normal circumstances. Brother Andrew was just meh for me, and I would never have predicted he'd win this.
  9. They were supposedly considering letting Charlotee and Harry adopt their baby but had changed their minds and just wanted the free trip to New York...and they were from Charlotte, North Carolina which is a city! I know Charlotte was not the teeming metro area it is today, but it was hardly the backwoods. Does anyone think Berger would actually have mentioned a "scrunchie" in his book? When Carrie mentioned it to him he seemed puzzled and said "the hair thing?" It was very implausible that he would have "had his heroine running around town in a sca-run-chee!" (as Carrie shrieked). The woman with the Southern accent wearing a scrunchie being so flattered that she thought she was being mistaken for a New Yorker was ridiculous.
  10. Interesting. I've never seen her on anything other than this show, and I think she looks a little older than she actually is (according to Wikipedia). I don't really care for her on this,.though I can't put my finger on why.
  11. I'm firmly in the "have the wedding you can afford" camp, but if Melissa wants to blow that $25K -- or what's left of it after taxes -- on a wedding, that's her prerogative. "Weddings are expensive" is not a statement of fact. It's simple to get married without spending lots of money, but she apparently has a vision of her wedding that requires spending plenty.
  12. I would've been happy for either Wayne Brady or Chris Daughtry to win. Daughtry has the better vocal talent, but Wayne is a good performer and I think the tears sealed it for him. Flamingo/Adrienne Baillon (who??) was just lucky to make it to the finale.
  13. Reading the comments on Hallmark's Facebook post about the reversal is very disheartening (note to self: never read the comments). So many narrow minds raising more narrow minds.
  14. Thank God we watch this on DVR, because Flamingo's rendition of Hallelujah was so painful I had to FF it. I wish people on these competition shows didn't always feel the need to perform that song. Really Jeff Buckley's version is the only one I care to hear ever. She should have gotten the boot, and Seal should've stayed, but I suppose we couldn't have an all-male finale.
  15. And all of this year's Lifetime movies I've seen so far have referenced "Winter Storm Megan," which lends a fun sense of continuity that all of these stories are happening in different towns but at the same time.
  16. My nose randomly started bleeding a couple of weeks ago. I don't have an explanation other than my husband then revealed that our humidifier was on the fritz (we had the repair guy out the next day). Probably just the dry air, in my case. I'm not saying Bobby is in the clear, but nosebleeds are pretty common. I think it's Michael we need to worry about.
  17. It was Erin Karpluk. She was in a Canadian show called Being Erica that also aired in the US a few years ago. No idea what she has done since. I love Michael. He's basically my favorite character. However, the showrunners seem to have no idea what to do with him. He came out, divorced Athena and started a new relationship, and then...nothing. He seems to be single and have very little life other than spending time with his family. I'm not surprised they're going this route with him, I think they will kill him off because they apparently don't have a story to write for him. Rockmund Dunbar deserves better than that, so I hope he's snagged a lead on some other show.
  18. Oh dear. That sounds...painful. Interesting that the Tour Dates section is blank. Maybe they're still searching for a promoter.
  19. And just like that, Hen's storyline is resolved in the blink of an eye...with the added bonus of snapping Karen out of her depression. Eh, we ordered a weighted blanket from Amazon over the summer and ended up returning it (thank God for free shipping and returns). I guess we'll have to take our chances with a meteor strike.
  20. Fun fact: Judy Greer has a book out called "I Don't Know What You Know Me From: My Life as a Co-Star."
  21. Why not? She's come right out in the press and said she's just doing it for the money at this point. No doubt there's not much challenge in playing the part anymore.
  22. I thought both her song choices were terrible. I don't know if she was just trying to throw the audience off by choosing songs from another genre, but these didn't showcase her voice at all. Had she chosen something more in her wheelhouse, I think she would've breezed through to the next round.
  23. My Samsung Galaxy S9 permits access to my ICE information when the phone is locked. During last week's episode, Mr Jillybean said Rebecca had the latest iPhone.
  24. I didn't even remember the family cabin until I saw it mentioned in this thread. Maybe it was the family cabin. I assumed it was once people started mentioning it here. It's certainly not Kevin's swanky house in the 12(?)-year flash-forward. I don't remember having to provide an emergency contact for the DMV or insurance. It's possible, but I have no recollection of it. My ICE definitely has changed since my last DL was issued.
