  1. The guy who played the "bridezilla"...I have no idea what his name is, but he seems typecast as the bitchy gay guy. First on Will & Grace, then Grace & Frankie, and now here. It looks to me like they're trying to start a redemption arc for Mateo. And then we really will have no villain.
  2. Did anyone else ever wonder how Carrie was filing her column when she didn't get internet until Season 4 (2001)?!
  3. This morning, E! aired the episode where Aidan proposes to Carrie. You know, the one where she's whining and complaining about accompanying him on a late-night walk with Pete. She was so insufferable, it's surprising he actually went through with it.
  4. The show is a lot better than I expected it to be. The marketing is way off, though.
  5. Welp, someone registered the domain name pawsitivelyshannen.org today and is "selling the website" for $90,210. Good luck.
  6. Gabrielle actually is the SAG president. And Jennie is remarried and her marriage recently teetered on the brink of divorce, but last I heard, they are back together.
  7. Surely if El Rey had died, the "influencer" would've known about it...?
  8. Oh gawd yes, Petra was a hot mess from that ghastly dress to those fugly shoes.
  9. Over the years, my husband would wander in and out of the room while I watched JtV, and last night he was mostly in the room. Still, I thought it was funny that he was the one to point out to me that it was Jennie who handed the water to Jane while she briefly joined the marathon. This was a sweet show with a sweet send-off. I enjoyed Chapter 99 much more than Chapter 100. I usually bawl at series finales, even the ones that suck. This one, eh, I had a tear or two before the ending, but nothing at the very end, and I didn't feel emotional about it afterward. I liked the show and it had so much heart, but I think the telenovela-ness of it all kept me from getting attached to the characters.
  10. So true. Carrie enjoyed the chase, then when she caught them she'd lose interest. She needed the drama of the hunt.
  11. I didn't realize how much time had passed this season and since Jane's trip to Montana until Charlie showed up looking like she was ready to pop. Having a Mateo-free episode was enjoyable.
  12. It seems like they've retconned Alba quite a bit, but I figured they had to draw the line somewhere.
  13. I like this show much better than I expected to. I really like Mrs. P and her husband (I haven't caught his name) but I'm not clear on what grounds they would sue the hotel. What did I miss? I enjoy her relationship with Santiago and hate to see that ruined. Glad the blackmailer plot didn't drag on endlessly. See ya, Nelson. I'm in the "I don't like Ingrid" camp and I'm glad to see that she's going to be busted quickly for her lies. This will clear the way for Javi and her to become star-crossed lovers... IF he can get over the lies and manipulation. I like Santiago so I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. I don't think I'm quite clear on Mateo and his role to oversee things at the hotel. He represents someone who financed the hotel or loaned them money, right?
  14. Welp, I watched part of episode 3 and couldn't be bothered to finish. It's been sitting on the DVR for days. Another one bites the dust.
  15. So an agent calls Jane with an offer for representation and Jane's end of the conversation is "Oh my God. Thank you!" Click.
  16. After last week's ep, it should be obvious that Javi is a born salesman. Putting him in Facilities is a waste.
  17. Warning: rant ahead! Love Unleashed was so incredibly annoying, and I watched to the end. I'm a Golden Retriever mom and I couldn't get past the absurdity of a pregnant Golden wandering the streets...then giving birth to a litter of purebreds (which at least most of those puppies appeared to be)...then the prospect that Golden Retriever puppies would be difficult to adopt out? Puh-leeze. I love Goldens but I really wish they'd had a litter of mixed breed puppies as the stars of the show, because it would have been so much more believable. A shelter in our area recently came by a litter of purebred Goldens and they had to set up a really specific process for adoption applications because they were expecting to be inundated (I know this because I seriously considered applying for one). Those puppies were too old not to have been adopted out yet. And the fact that they were shown to have the run of the house -- at Hailey's house and Ryan's -- really does a disservice to the viewers. Hallmark is supposedly so into dog rescue, and they really blew the opportunity to show what it's like to have a puppy in one's home. I also didn't fully comprehend the concept of a "puppy party" to interest people in rescue, nor did I believe that the shelter had an additional 5 puppies hanging around. Puppies always get adopted. As for the leads, I agree that they had NO chemistry. I like Jen Lilley but she was just too wide-eyed in this one for me. Her wardrobe was ridiculous for dealing with puppies. And the fact that any man would declare his love in front of his young daughter and the woman's father -- along with visual aids, no less -- was too much corn and cheese even for Hallmark. Speaking of the daughter, it seemed she was portrayed way younger than 8. I don't have kids, so I might be way off on this, but the kids in Hallmark movies always seem much more immature than their ages would call for. I have a 10-year-old niece, and no way she would have been clutching wide-eyed at a stuffed animal two years ago. Kids today are so much more sophisticated than I was at that age, but Hallmark seems to insist on portraying them as total innocents. I guess that's on-brand, though. ETA: the dog that the crabby neighbor was interested in was so beautiful!
  18. I'm wondering what kind of "nursing school" she applied to. Xo didn't go to college, right? So, is she applying to college to study for a BSN? I sort of assumed she was applying to a LPN program, which seems much more within reach. Your point about the timeline still stands regardless, as I'm sure no such programs have a rolling and speedy admissions process.
  19. It seems so ludicrous. As far as I can tell, Xo has never even held a full-time job. So why, at this stage in life, is she suddenly going to buckle down and attempt something as tough as nursing school? Just don't see it happening.
  20. This series was interesting...it's billed as a black comedy, but there were very few comedic moments. One problem for me: as with certain other shows, there was really no one to root for because they're all shitty people (with the exception of Henry). Christina Applegate was fantastic, though.
  21. I guess it's an unpopular opinion, but I don't enjoy the Petra-JR relationship. It just seems to be all conflict and apologies, week in and week out. They also don't have any chemistry IMO.
  22. Is anyone surprised? Kris was a nice guy but duller than dull and sounds like a million other bland guys out there. He even said himself that Adam should have won the season -- but then, of course, Adam would be saddled with the thankless Idol contract of yore. Speaking of which, I don't know what the current Idol contract consists of, but no doubt there are very few of the requirements that existed in Idol's heyday (back when the Top 10 were good enough to sell tickets to a tour).
  23. I actually thought Alejandro was the "designated" winner -- not Laine -- and I was mildly surprised that he did not win. Alejandro is clearly talented but I did not care for his music as it was all sleepy and same-sounding. I saw the first few minutes of Kelly and Ryan today, and Ryan said he was chatting with Laine and Alejandro during the final commercial break. Apparently they both were slated to fly to NYC right after the show on a private chartered jet, with Laine set to appear on the show (as well as GMA) today and Alejandro tomorrow. Alejandro told Ryan he was afraid of flying. Ryan showed a photo of the two of them boarding their private charter. He later found out that after the doors were closed, Alejandro said he couldn't do it, and was let off the plane. He said as far as he knows, Alejandro is still in LA and he has no idea whether he is going to appear on the show tomorrow or not. I don't understand why Maddie wasn't invited to perform (I mean, I loved Montell Jordan's performance but he has no relevance here). I heard her new single "Made You Miss" a few days ago, and it sounded like generic pop. I could still hear a hint of her unique tone, but I was overall disappointed with the song considering what a unique talent she is. I didn't care for her styling on the finale, either. Just seems like they are trying to mold her into another bland pop princess.
  24. Or maybe he's just reacting to the constant chaos around him? I'm still wondering how he recognized Michael at the hotel, considering he was a baby when Michael died. Unless Jane did something ridiculous like raising Mateo from infancy with photos of Michael. I really don't understand where Rafael is coming from in the way he's treating Jane. Even the Jafael shopper must be having a hard time with this, since his behavior toward her is so cold.
  25. This is her character on JtV...not much resemblance to Kim here! LOL.
