  1. I think next week we go to the real-time results with no results show. Still not sure how that includes the West Coast. ETA: oh wait, it's aired simultaneously on the West Coast, isn't it?
  2. Wade is just unwatchable IMO. Thank goodness for FF. SO. GLAD. Evelyn and Eddie are gone. Two out of my bottom three gone is two more than I expected.
  3. Ashley is my favorite vocalist of the Top 14 but she missed an opportunity to really nail "Fix You." There needed to be a guitarist on stage to rock the guitar solo in the song, and during that time Ashley should have gotten up from the piano and sung the remainder of the song with more power and movement. The latter part of the song is not as quiet as the beginning, and Ashley really needs to step away from the piano at this point in the competition. Someone mentioned upthread thinking that "Fix You" is a condescending song. IIRC, Chris Martin wrote the song for Gwyneth Paltrow when her father died. I personally love the song and I was excited Ashley performed it, but think her performance could have been better planned/executed.
  4. I'd forgotten about Riley. She is a decent performer, but her vocals last night were incredibly weak.
  5. The first 15 minutes of the show didn't air here due to coverage of tornado watches, so we missed Evelyn and Laine. Sounds like we shouldn't bother looking for those online. Wade, Evelyn, and Eddie are my bottom three. There were so many problems with performances last night. Last season I swore off watching the show again because the judges don't judge, choosing instead to fangirl over even the most average performances. Yet here I am watching them do it again. I'm getting tired of saying "sit down, Lionel" to my TV. We are very weary of Alejandro's falsetto. I love Uche but he doesn't have Adam Lambert's talent or sheer stage presence. Adam L was the most exciting performer in Idol's history. I enjoy Uche and hope he stays around a while because he's one of the few whose performances we don't FF thru. Ashley is the best vocalist in the Top 14 and I'd put Madison second. I don't see either of them winning. I expect the judge's saves to keep some of the weakest talent.
  6. I have nothing to add about the great dysfunction that is the Shepherd family. I'll just say that Linc can add another impressive accomplishment to his list of Amazing Things About Amelia: she apparently can walk 14 blocks around NYC in very skinny stiletto heels -- managing to wear them for the entire episode (presumably she changed for surgery?). I like Linc...I've always liked Linc...Meredith was dumb to pass up a chance at him for Deluca.
  7. I don't remember that! I can't decide if that supports my point, or provides a valid counterpoint. 😂
  8. It also seems like she's wearing caftan-like garments lately.
  9. I wonder what ages the characters are actually supposed to be. Meghann Fahy (Sutton) will be 29 this month, and Sam Page (Richard) is 42. At least the show acknowledges the age difference...? Interestingly, both actors have done Hallmark movies. Melora Hardin is actually around 8 years older than Sam Page, which would make for an interesting vibe on the show. Isn't Jacqueline married, though? I feel like they've been styling her older as of late (she's only 51). I don't really know why I watch this show since I'm pretty close to Melora's age and obviously not the target demo. And I've definitely never heard of the aptly named Betty Who.
  10. This is getting ridiculous.
  11. Hated the Olive Garden sponsorship ad. These girls wouldn't be caught dead eating Olive Garden.
  12. You might not think this if you followed Sterling K. Brown on Facebook. Also, I'm pretty sure they called one another "Baby" in that scene.
  13. She was the dental hygienist who sang Norah Jones' "Don't Know Why" while the judges gathered around the piano. She basically got no airtime during Hollywood Week.
  14. Not according to the articles I found when I Googled her.
  15. Haha - my husband asked me what Katy was doing on the floor and I said "making it all about her."
  16. My favorite contestant from the auditions was Ashley Hess, and she wasn't given any coverage during Hollywood Week, unless I somehow missed it. Apparently she's still in it. I don't get the appeal of Alejandro.
  17. I think he even said you don't have to put the tailgate down to drain it!
  18. From the link you posted, it wasn't a car accident. She and some others were goofing off in a hotel and she fell while doing a handstand up against another person who came crashing down on her. I didn't care for her and her liberal use of "literally." Pick-Up Pools cracked me up. The guy wasn't a redneck, but the product is sooo redneck. Truck beds really aren't that deep, so I don't really get the excitement of sitting around in waist-deep water. But it's ghetto enough it might just be successful. Silkroll was one of the worst pitches I've seen.
  19. There was a sign shown with the name of a middle school. Multiple mentions of A Million Little Things, which I haven't watched since the 2nd episode because it sucked IMO...but yeah, the having/not having kids discussion is hardly a unique thing...surely plenty of couples/women out there don't want kids. I know because I'm one of them.
  20. I was so surprised they actually used the name Steven Parnell. The real-life Steven had a tragic ending, and his brother ended up being a serial killer. So 911 is now doing "ripped from the headlines" stories, albeit only people of a certain age were likely to get that reference. I was laughing my ass off at the fire truck hauling the shark and then releasing it in the bay! It seems like we're back to S1 levels of wackiness. I expected Chimney to be attacked by Mr. Hewitt, but wasn't expecting a stabbing. Yeesh! On a shallow note, JLH's new 'do doesn't do much for her. I wonder if that woman ever got her face re-attached, and how the construction worker with the saw in his gut fared. That plotline was abandoned pretty quickly, but then again, this isn't a medical show.
  21. I had been told there's a tennis ball thing you can clip on your phone, but I didn't know it was called Pooch Selfie. My dog's been photographed almost daily since puppyhood and will pose as long as he's in the mood (see below), so I don't have a use for it, but I'm glad the guy got a deal. It seemed like a sentimental play more than anything else for Daymond, but it was nice. OTOH I thought the vegan dog food was a little nuts. I know people who feed their dogs raw diets, home-cooked diets, etc. so there will be a (limited) market for his food, but the valuation seemed nuts.
  22. Wow. And I thought the portrayal of Grace in last week's episode was bad. Grace has always been self-centered, but has never been someone I'd expect to shove an elderly person to the ground to steal her cab. Now they have her dad be homophobic (or at the very least, ignorant) out of the blue. And yes, WTF was up with calling Marilyn "Mom?" Jack and Karen are not funny. I think I'm done with this re-boot. It's been pretty terrible all the way around, and I don't know why I've watched it this long.
  23. You quoted my post, but I said none of these things about Randall. I simply said I see a lack of continuity in the character over the years.
  24. I've had this exact thought for a few weeks now. There's a total disconnect between teen Randall and adult Randall. I see nothing at all of teen Randall in adult Randall. Really makes me wonder WTF happened. Then again, I see very little of S1 Adult Randall in S2 Adult Randall and S3 Adult Randall.
